hey guys nick alderman here welcome to adventure van expo we're in redmond oregon this is the actual bend show if
0:20
you guys look it up online but it's in redmond and uh we're just going to take you through and just kind of go through the
0:26
vans go through the vendors show you some stuff that i'm particularly interested in and then i
0:32
think i'm gonna make another loop uh take some photos and bring you guys along for the ride so let's go
0:40
one thing that's really nice about adventure vent expo is they actually have a space where if you're selling
0:46
your van personal vehicle you can actually put it up at the front of the show and the
0:51
places where you can show it off differ but this one had it right out of the gate so you come in the gate with your tickets off to your right a lot of
1:00
for sale by owner vans and it's really cool you know these are vans that are ready to go
1:06
um different options you got a ford transit in a second there's going to be a
1:12
mercedes mattress on the right but this transit actually has a pop top up there which is pretty cool
1:19
we've got our mercedes-benz metris a little bit of smaller kind of minivan style
1:25
but this one actually had a pop top as well which is really cool all right we'll hop around the corner here and you actually see inside they
1:31
got a little fridge some drawers a little seat and um i think that's gonna fold out into a bed to get a
1:38
lagoon table so these are actually pretty uh
1:43
outfitted then we got a ford transit over here
1:48
i believe this one is just rear wheel drive it does have some upgraded rims
1:55
some information uh if you guys are interested in this ford transit
2:03
it's got an awning and on the inside uh looks like the
2:09
build has been started there's no like cabinet doors or anything like that but the structure's in place same thing with
2:14
the upper cabinets uh it's just the frame right now so some of these are in different stages
2:21
uh i know i said earlier they're all fully built out ready to go but um yeah maybe you start a van build
2:29
project and you wanted to just get it over with and buy one and kind of sell the one that
2:34
you have maybe half progress that's cool too the back side is kind of finished out
2:41
but again the upper cabinets um they're kind of waiting for
2:47
the time to be finished this is another sprinter over here
2:53
for cell a little bit of info
3:03
and i think it actually has a uh like a rhino lining on the bumper
3:08
i don't think we got a chance to get inside this one it was pretty busy but this one is uh i'd say this one's ready
3:14
to go you got seating for five people got a table a little pull out
3:19
pantry and then going towards the back here
3:26
the back is finished i don't see a mattress in here but you can actually see kind of how the panels fold up and
3:32
out of the way so you can move around the van uh inside looks pretty finished
3:38
got some l track to uh tie some stuff down and the back actually looks like has a
3:43
holder for a table underneath and it's got a slatted roof ceiling
3:49
some speakers a little scene light light up the area when you're loading in let's hop over
3:55
over here to this uh 170 sprinter it's actually a 4x4
4:01
and it's got 52 000 miles i think is what it said on the
4:06
well for sale by owner um nice van it's got a really nice color i like the paint job on it
4:13
[Music] and it has an awning which is awesome if we go around the back it's got bump outs
4:19
uh storage box and a fire ring something you can actually hold a hook up to
4:26
propane stove and have like a little propane campfire two bikes center water tank with a
4:32
little bit more storage underneath the bed fixed bed real nice band tours here we have titan
4:39
vans there are boulder colorado not only do they build vans but they actually build diy kits so
4:46
like kitchen galleys and stuff that you guys can do diy put together yourself they sell
4:51
water tanks they sell you know diesel heaters gasoline heaters and components wash down stuff like that we're going to
4:59
hop into a van here with one of their guys and had them show us one of their newest builds this is gonna be the ultra
5:05
170 um so it's gonna be a little bit on the
5:10
higher end of our spectrum of models in regards to providing that versatility um but also
5:17
kind of a more comfortable luxurious kind of amenities such as our
5:23
uh shower sauna um over here uh you guys so you guys are boulder right
5:29
we are yeah yeah so this is titan vans at a boulder colorado um i've actually
5:35
used a couple of their systems like the doi kits so like the uh the water tank that goes over the wheel well
5:41
uh also doing the evo 40 heater um what's nice about that if you buy
5:47
through them is you guys get the warranty you do yep three year warranty um or 36 000
5:55
miles yeah because if you buy the one that looks good the price is good it's because it's a uh it's not a us version
6:02
so that's my so i bought it for you guys yeah no yeah that's so you know that's
6:07
kind of the one thing that we like to do is keeping everything local and you said you sell these seats we do
6:13
yep so these are the friedman uh the flip up seats what's really nice about this is you get two additional
6:20
seats but then you can actual you know flip it up and have this this walkway
6:26
um okay yeah hey just stay in the back uh
6:32
cool your mic right yeah yeah yeah as you can see this uh are you building these showers in-house now
6:38
what's that the shower the actual stall uh we are not building those currently
6:43
um in-house yeah these uh the curtains however um our built-in
6:50
house um you know at the moment because we actually just shifted um our shower
6:56
design very recently um you know it's kind of a little bit more in the trial and air
7:03
stage but at the moment this guy has been um working for us really nicely so
7:09
you know so if you guys get this in the diy that'd be good okay noted yeah i mean
7:16
it's it's when it comes to the the shower is always a tough challenge right because obviously you have a lot
7:22
of um just uh ceiling uh quality um kind of requirements um but
7:30
also too just from like use i mean i was just in a i was just
7:36
standing in a rebel uh shower uh just yesterday and headroom you know it
7:41
doesn't really take into i think i count the the average populous
7:46
um you know i'm five ten and a half um i can squeeze in here
7:52
still have room and then this could kind of do my thing and luckily our
7:58
founder matt north he's uh he's 6'3 so he kind of very tall so he puts a nice
8:04
little skew on everything i think for the better yeah and and there's a video online going
8:09
through this video i'm pretty sure he went through this because he showed the uh the retractable top yeah so this guy
8:17
pops all the way out give you a little bit more um has like accordion thing going on yeah a head room um as well um
8:25
this whole curtain is going to roll down
8:34
well i like this because it's very thick like it's heavy so it doesn't it's not going to suck in
8:39
right now yep and that's zip and then we also have the additional
8:45
magnet magnet yup which i mean who doesn't like magnets that's perfect
8:51
yeah definitely the shower is uh shower's nice man yeah show us the we'll
8:57
go around back and let's check the bed yeah sure
9:10
yeah nice uh our bed platform here um as well as our lower uh bed platform
9:16
um lower bed platform um it can also be removed um know if you want that additional uh storage rail system
9:27
heck yeah i'll show you what this guy looks like here
9:34
while he's doing that this is the uh like the diy water setup so you can buy this um these are really
9:39
cool this is a uh this is a mixer valve but it's a nice clean it's not that cheap rv plastic
9:46
stuff that we'll see a lot here um so water inlet hot and cold is your
9:53
spray down shower so it's got a little hole pop that back in and this is your drain so you got a
9:59
three-way valve so you can
10:04
one is drains the tank one closes off to fill another one what is winterize
10:09
something like that what's that it's a the three-way valve it's what
10:15
fill drain and then winterize is the correct okay
10:23
and uh yeah just a nice small tight storage right there and then you got a uh
10:29
outlet above your head got a little usb 12 volts
10:37
you can picture the storage right here oh yeah it's nice
11:05
yeah so you know you're gonna get um a lot of uh a lot of additional kind of
11:11
room there right um with the lower bed platform um usually it kind of works out for
11:16
families quite a bit yeah because i mean you have to get that friend along the kids down here a friend
11:22
yeah that extra jump seat makes a huge difference that's great yeah we actually uh i
11:29
actually talked with a family from uh seattle we have a little girl
11:35
just inquiring about our lower bed platform so i think it's definitely a uh
11:40
part of the market that is uh looking to be addressed yeah because i'm thinking i'm changing
11:46
my ideas on the spec build because you know add the additional passengers like that seat you're talking about but then also doing
11:52
this uh do this murphy bed style system it's kind of like a 50 50 murphy bed
11:59
yeah i mean kind of just really the bet yeah when it comes when it comes to beds you know they're
12:05
uh they're a necessary part of the yeah that's the point right but you need right it is it is the point yeah yeah
12:12
but you need to figure out where to put them okay which is kind of uh you know a bit of a challenge here so we like to
12:18
provide as many options as possible for however someone wants to do that okay
12:25
hey man thank you for giving a tour yeah that's great you appreciate it all right we'll see you guys have a good rest of your show now thanks thanks
12:31
all right next up we have adventure wagon and give you a little idea what they do they make interior bolt-in kits
12:38
they're really safe they actually have like an internal structure skeleton that all the panels bolt to um they're
12:44
pre-upholstered and very professionally done very very precise so let's go ahead and get this
12:50
van tour and find out more about adventure wagon hey guys we're at adventure wagon so if
12:56
you're watching my build out on the van one we got the whole entire adventure wagon kit in that van so we're
13:03
on stage three that i call it um that means i'm not finished yet almost there yeah
13:10
this is a haley from venture wagon so she's been helping me out any questions i have call her up um
13:16
other than coming in a humongous box it's awesome everything goes together super clean
13:22
and so she's got a van here that's kind of uh you know what you would have when you're finished with the build so uh yeah take
13:28
us through yeah so this is a sprinter 170 so the longer wheelbase
13:33
pretty basic build-outs this is just the base kit so you can add on to this however you want to but it's basically
13:39
our kit kind of i think the best part about it is what we call the a-frame which is a steel reinforcement structure
13:45
so underneath all of these tracks are going to be steel pieces that rivnut and rivet right into the like sheet metal of
13:50
the van that gives you tons of strength you can do like any kind of cabinet hammocks all that jazz and it keeps it
13:56
really low profile all the panels and track and a frame are all only like a half inch off the ribs of the vans
14:03
so you're really maximizing your interior space while still getting all that strength and insulation and all that good stuff
14:09
yeah i mean the kit includes it's pretty simple includes a pretty basic 12 volt electrical system which powers your
14:14
lights and your outlets you can totally expand that if you want to um we just keep it so that
14:20
basically any van can use it you can just plug right into the main power of the van if you if you have it and then you can build on
14:26
top of that as you need but yeah you can check like pick your upholstery colors all that good stuff
14:31
this one's just their standard light gray um so when i talk about my videos is
14:36
safety so when you're building a van a lot of diys you're build you're like bolting wood to
14:41
metal and if you're an accident you know you need to be able to count on that so that's actually how i kind of got into you guys is is this uh you guys can see
14:48
the orange you can see even better in this back panel here it's cool you guys did that right here
14:55
so this is like an internal skeleton that is what this bolts to so you actually have like a structure within a
15:01
structure and you're not relying on you know you're on the van but like the roof is
15:07
the biggest thing because the the roof on these advances it's just actually glued on so it's not actually welded or anything
15:14
like that so uh you'll find out when you start cutting out holes for your roof in but
15:21
this is cool because they get like these uh these beam parts um we've already done a video on this but
15:27
uh yeah l track everywhere you can get cabinets and stuff like that
15:33
um yeah pretty cool
15:39
so is the power system kind of you're adding that to the package yeah so this van is really simple this
15:45
is kind of the most basic setup so the main kit is wired to the fan itself and then you just have a gold zero and you're
15:50
powering the fridge but you could hook up the whole kit to a goal zero or another power system if you wanted to really easily um that's the case in this
15:58
van next to us it has solar and everything hooked up right to that goal zero and that in turn is powering the
16:03
van that you're not draining your van battery if you're off grid for an extended period of
16:09
yeah and then there's there's all kinds of accessories they got the mule bags so like they got a small one they got a large one um and they're soft so like if
16:16
you want to put them up here pretty sure in bed you're not going to hit your head
16:34
of all kinds of stuff even if we don't offer it specifically yeah it's uh is flatland banco here i don't know if
16:40
they're here today there's that their products are definitely scattered around but i didn't see them on the list yeah yeah but that's it so that's
16:47
another company you guys can do so the roof rack the ladder that i did on the spec van it is flatline vanco they make
16:54
adventure wagon compatible products um you got to get them quick because they sail out quick
17:02
yep sweet but uh i think we might just do some b-roll in the second van because uh
17:09
it's the show everybody everybody's lots of people it's a pretty one for sure yeah yeah
17:15
yeah cool all right thank you thank you
17:20
so i want to look at this one because this has the uh like the two bed system so this is the one
17:27
can you give us an intro um this is uh
17:32
it's just a ford transit high roof um it's the 148 version i'm just assuming all this because i'm
17:38
glancing at it but uh what i like about the venture wagon you get that l track and you're going to be
17:43
able to put their bed system at different heights and i think it's called the moab
17:49
bed traverse bed system and i'll get in there in just a second
17:56
but there's the mule bags on top when we get inside so those are the soft bags that you can kind of use for like
18:02
you know storage cabinets or whatever and then you got the bed system
18:08
all that good stuff
18:31
yes i think this is the flatline vancouver pull out drawer tray
18:38
and then uh this is their bed system so it's got expandable tracks right here so it can
18:44
actually be heightened and lowered and it kind of goes in and out and so like if you have kids or stuff
18:49
like that you can do stuff like that
18:55
or you have friends going on a drooping trip you want to bring them along you can do
19:00
you know up here down here um these are really nice actually yeah it's the first time i've seen these
19:06
in person this is cool um
19:12
yeah very nice so it's really busy here at the van show
19:19
a lot of interest is really cool that all this stuff is going on so for this one i'm just going to talk about
19:24
van-made gear so vma gear makes insulated window covers they make some other products too
19:30
but it's pretty much their bread butter which is over here and they're kind of showing people all
19:36
their products but uh there's a lot of insulated um window coverings so you what's the reason you
19:42
want to insulated riv window covering on your van is because uh it's really hot you've got basically
19:48
sheet metal and glass and there's nothing really to put in between there so having something like this that
19:55
magnetically attaches to the outside frame of your window just really helps keep the heat in or
20:01
when it's hot outside keep the heat out but they got a booth here we're gonna walk up the table i'm gonna show you a
20:06
couple other stuff
20:16
yeah so here's a good example so there's like built-in magnets for some people it starts
20:23
so this is a mini version of a big window and what they're showing is you could put the full window in
20:30
and then if you wanted just to have a little bit of visibility you just pull the top down
20:36
and then when you're done you take the whole thing out you can actually wrap it up and then some people actually
20:41
take this and they'll get like a shelf above their driver's seat passenger seat and you can stuff these up in there
20:52
and then you know you can have fun with all the different colors and stuff like that
21:02
i'm sure we'll see much more this as we get on in the show next up we have timber lime and they
21:09
provide hydronic heating systems so that is a system that both heats your van and
21:14
also heats your cold water to brush you with hot water in your van now they do this by burning either
21:21
gasoline or diesel as their combustion fuel if you don't know what this whole thing
21:26
is it looks kind of complicated it basically is a chamber that burns the fuel and it heats up and there is a glycol
21:35
fluid that's passed around the chamber that glycol is warmed up
21:41
and you kind of think of it as antifreeze in your car engine so when that antifreeze goes through your engine it pulls the heat out of the engine it
21:48
goes to the radiator and it dissipates that heat so we have a little mini radiator right there and it's pretty
21:54
much doing just the same thing the system is burning heating that up the glycol is pumped through it just like
22:00
you're cooling in your engine it's blown across the fins and that essentially heats your van
22:06
the second part of the system is a heat exchanger plate on the left side you can't see it right now but we'll see in
22:11
just a second that is what the cold water in your van is going to pass through and then take
22:16
up the heat from the glycol and be heated and provide your hot water cody is going to show us exactly uh the
22:24
components of the system and tell us a little bit more about it the tank here that holds our ethylene glycol that circulates through
22:30
the system two gallon expansion tank um control box so this is basically the
22:35
brains of our system that's where all of your signals are flowing through that saw the communication is going back and
22:41
forth between the components this is just our little power box for the display board that we have your
22:47
power will hook up directly to your house batteries and your storage battery so you have circulation pump on the
22:53
bottom of the expansion tank that's how it's circulating your ethylene glycol through the system so once the coolant
22:59
leaves the tank itself it goes up to the burner so your burner is an external mounting component
23:07
wait for this plane to land i don't know if that'll pick up in the video oh yeah it will it will
23:13
yeah so once the coolant goes outside to the burner uh the burner is outside
23:19
combusting hook straight into your vehicle's gas tank whether diesel or gas
23:25
and that's where your combustion is taking place so that's where your ethylene glycol is getting heated up
23:31
the exhaust goes directly out and your air intake is also underneath with with
23:36
your burner once the glycol leaves your burner it goes directly to your flat plate heat
23:42
exchanger that's where your heat transfer is taking place for your hot water it's an instant continuous hot
23:48
water production that leaves and goes over to your heat registers so that's where we have two of
23:54
those in every kit and it has five different variable speeds per fan heat register and once
24:00
the coolant leaves there it goes back into the tank makes completes the whole loop it all operates off of a 12-volt
24:06
thermostat we have an ambient air temperature sensor and we have high altitude function built
24:12
in on board that's the system in a nutshell yeah and
24:17
uh the main question is why would you want to use something like this and you're using it to climate control
24:24
in your van so this plate right here is what's going to help you with heating hot water and then this right here
24:31
is what's gonna basically be like a cabin heater in your van and uh what's nice about having a system
24:37
like this that does both things is you can completely remove the need for like an electric water heater that's
24:42
gonna take all the power out of your van you got because you guys can do gasoline or diesel gasoline or diesel and if
24:49
you're hooked into a shore power as well we do have an electrical heating element inside the tank so if you're plugged
24:54
into that and you want to use that as an as a supplementary heat you can do that as well yeah and what you're talking
25:01
about before about the altitude compensation what's good is like if you go on amazon and buy the chinese diesel
25:06
heater i actually have one of those in my personal van but the thing is if you travel to different elevations
25:13
uh it's not going to work it actually might not work at all so you need something that compensates for the uh
25:20
air density which is a fancy word for saying there's not enough air to get the right burn to make the whole thing work
25:27
and that's what our system does is automatically compensates as you go up and down in altitude this burner adjusts
25:32
its air fuel ratio yep but um yeah thanks for the tour thank you so much all right speech you guys
25:39
what's your name i'm mark mark yeah hey guys this is mark with the grit over land uh you guys are based out of
25:46
vancouver yep yeah washington usa awesome awesome and uh yeah he's just going to show us the band off
25:52
so what kind of van are we working with here so we do two van models we do the sprinter 4x4 or we do the ford transit
25:59
all-wheel drive so we're doing mainly for transit all-wheel drive i think we'll put about 55 of those out the door
26:04
this year and if you just look at the outside basically where we start is we do
26:10
suspension upgrade um off-road tires aftermarket wheels skid
26:16
plates underneath um on the ford we'll do uh we'll cut off the original shock mounts raise them up
26:22
so you can get as much clearance as possible when you take it catch a paved road you want to be confident that you're not going to damage anything yeah
26:28
yeah and then on the outside we offer a pop top like this one has a pop top for sleeping too
26:34
right or we can do a roof rack side mounted ladder awnings either on both of
26:39
them this one's our go baja model so the sprinters are go baja the ford is our
26:45
our goat or our go tara and so i'll kind of talk a little bit about the differences in essence our
26:52
design philosophy is there's a lot of precious space in the van right and so
26:57
we want to build things to use utilize that space as well as possible so you'll notice we use a fold-up bench seat
27:04
because sometimes you need to travel with four people but once you arrive that ben sees just in the way yeah so
27:11
when we're not sitting in it we fold it up and get it out of the way same thing you'll see with our bed system
27:18
oh that's okay there's not much one with trademarks
27:23
yeah you can plug the power there we go
27:30
so the same thing is true with our bed system uh we have it fold up both sides can
27:35
fold up to a murphy style bed and you can have an open gear garage all the way through
27:41
when you're not using the bed you can turn it into an extended countertop oh that's so nice and this is one solid piece one solid
27:49
piece front to back man yeah those are so and we only built overhead cabinets
27:54
on one side we left the other side empty just to let people decide what they want to do with their overhead space right
28:00
some people like bags you'll notice this bag has the same philosophy as the rest of our design
28:06
and that is if you don't have anything in it
28:11
you can fold it up origami style strap it up and get it out of the way oh
28:16
excellent so this is one of our new folding bag designs
28:28
uh what else is in here how about and is it do you find this uh these uh seats like
28:34
the frequencies are they mainly customer driven so it's like that people are really needing to have that extra
28:39
capacity in the van other than just two seats and like a bench with no seatbelts yeah i mean um
28:46
obviously it depends on if you're traveling or not right so if you're traveling you want to have certified seat belts in the van so these seats are
28:53
great because well we found them in the ada industry wheelchair accessible vans yeah designed to be belted three-point
28:59
seat belt harness they have crs hooks for child safety restraints you want to put a car seat in there you can do that
29:05
um but the real game changer was most vans that are trying to travel with three or four people they have that seat
29:11
in the space the whole time right so trying to maneuver in here you have so much less space yeah sometimes my van is
29:16
not a camper sometimes my van is weekend warrior maybe i'm going skiing so i go with my buddies we fold the seat up now
29:22
all four of us can stand in this space get in and out of our snow gear yeah right or we could be making breakfast in the morning
29:28
just the fact that that gets up and out of the way was just a game changer for design and use of the van yeah here's
29:35
another thing that's not obvious the fridge you notice we use it just a simple chest style fridge super
29:40
efficient but we mount it up and off the ground yeah so now i can access everything in the fridge
29:46
top to bottom from a standing position super simple
29:51
and you're making use of that space for your uh heating i'm guessing yeah this is actually under mounted air
29:56
conditioning oh is it a like cruising comfort yep okay so we put a cruise and comfort in
30:02
we use their new 48 volt system because we run a 54 volt battery system nice um and you'll notice we've got
30:09
ducks over the bed i guess you can't really see it because the mattress but when you put the bed down we have two ducks to face the bed you have two ducks
30:15
underneath here but then you know your air conditioner is mounted underneath it's not up in the hot sun when you're watching wondering
30:22
and are you guys actually using timberline for the hydraulic system yeah we like timberline elbow does a great job with
30:27
that 17 000 btus of heat yeah is unbelievable amount of heat for this
30:33
type of space yep so i was out sleeping the other night with my window open 42 degrees outside i kicked my heater on
30:40
the very lowest setting yeah and halfway through the night i turned off the heater yep it was just that good so okay
30:47
battery system is another thing that really sets us apart we have our go farther power system is
30:53
10 000 watts of electrical lithium iron phosphate i can charge it in a little over an hour zero to full
30:59
so 10 000 watts is a lot of power i can run my air conditioner off of that thing for 10 plus hours in the middle of
31:05
nowhere totally silent off of battery power but when the battery gets low you can
31:11
turn on monitor mode and so when it hits 17 battery it'll communicate open a communication port with your van
31:17
it'll turn on the engine and it'll rapid charge for 60 minutes and then we'll shut it back down what that does is
31:22
it'll take it from about 17 to 75 percent of your battery bank so do you have a secondary alternator to do
31:29
that yeah okay secondary high output alternator uh 54 volt system that's how we can charge that fast there's people
31:35
with bigger batteries than what we have in here but the challenge is how big the battery is the challenge is how usable
31:41
is it right if you have a huge battery system that takes 16 hours to charge yep it's not very usable so why put that
31:47
much power it's like you can use it for two days but then you've got to go drive for 16 hours to charge your back up or
31:52
plug it in for 16 hours back up so with this with an hour if it ever got empty
31:58
driving it charges from zero to full in 72 minutes driving and on an idle we do
32:03
60 minute rapid charges which just give that quick 60 70 yeah and do you have any uh solar for like trickle charging
32:09
on top or one of our vans we do solar on our 12 volt electrical system band we don't do solar on a 54 volt van
32:16
we're working on solar for that yeah yeah um challenges in voltages and engineering yeah like that
32:22
so some people you'll see a big 54 volt system in uh they'll have solar panel on top they're not actually
32:28
charging the house batteries they're actually connecting it to their van battery yeah and i'll pause for the audience here so
32:34
solar is not the be all for power systems especially when you have so much voltage in this type of system
32:40
uh a solar panel is just not gonna do it for you uh it might be good for like a little trickle charge that thing when
32:46
the battery's like in storage but uh when you have a really good robust power system and like secondary
32:51
engine alternator charging you you're you're going to be fine
32:56
you're not going to be you're going to be stuck in the middle of the woods yeah what i tell people is is the big power system and the rapid charging like we do
33:02
in this game is not for everybody right right for people who want unlimited power in the middle of nowhere
33:07
right they want to take their power yeah so you want to charge your electric bikes every night you want to have margarita hour with a blender every
33:13
night you want to run your induction cooktop and your ac during the day or on your ac all night long when you're sleeping yeah in the middle of nowhere
33:20
you need a big power system but most people are going hey i don't need all that especially if you don't
33:25
need the ac you can run a vent fan you can run your air conditioner you can run all of your lights and basics off of a
33:30
12 volt system um you don't need that huge battery size so at that point you throw solar on top solar super valuable
33:37
yep solar will run your fan it'll run your lights around your fridge if you put 3 400 watts on it pretty much
33:44
that's what you're looking at yeah um so this uh little spray down
33:50
yeah so this is your indoor shower all right nice so again with the modular system
33:58
the shower curtain connects up to the ceiling your shower
34:03
head pulls out and you've got a so you can push button or you can just turn it on
34:10
nice and you got your mixer right there but we stow everything right in the
34:16
space right so when you're not using the shower
34:23
it doesn't take up any space that's great and i love the one-piece countertop i think it's so nice
34:31
and so i are using the victron for the the management or you actually have victron
34:37
batteries we use bitcoin batteries as well okay so we have used a lot of victron we love the off-the-shelf
34:43
componentry right we want to be able to make this ultimately serviceable we have our own proprietary stuff in
34:49
there too but you're looking at 95 gotcha okay
34:54
um yeah so kitchen got the shower got storage ac um
35:00
what about the oh yeah so right here oh pop top which this is rare
35:06
on this is hard to do this is not easy to do well there's a number of pop top
35:11
companies out right yeah this is one of the more unique ones you don't cut off the whole roof to put a pop top on so
35:17
all of your infrastructure that's built engineering built into the van you keep that we cut through one cross beam that
35:23
we reinforced replace and then you have a porthole to access the rooftop tent nice so and then the versatility the
35:31
durability of that thing uh it's german engineered it's manufactured and sold out of europe uh they import them and we
35:38
we just install we don't manufacture them but this is one of the more durable ones we found for example the clam shell
35:43
on top is two layers of fiberglass with insulation in the middle so when you pull that thing down and you're actually
35:50
driving on the road you have very little road noise that's awesome like having a second
35:56
bedroom or a penthouse with a view yep yep um anything on the back of the van
36:04
yeah let's see a couple things i'll tell you a couple more things did we talk about aluminum
36:09
framing oh no no that's important that's a that's one of my big things is uh
36:15
the structure of the van like venture wagon for example the internal structure or like uh i guess you're gonna tell me
36:20
about like aluminum tubing which you guys are doing for uh that'd be good so you'll notice all the little black
36:25
screws in here um what you're going to see is the tig welded aluminum frame tube framing that
36:31
supports our bed system runs through the whole cabinet system right so all of the crossbars
36:36
everything is built with jim it's like having little roll cages oh is this like that teflon plastic uh tvs
36:43
what's it called uh it's a composite composite yeah we found it in the yachting industry exactly
36:49
so cool i just noticed that so it's nice to be able to cut on cnc's and not have to do all the work to
36:55
finish the edges that's so great but ultimately with those roll cages
37:00
inside yeah you bolt it through the body of the van right and so now you don't have to worry about something becoming a
37:06
projectile if you ever gotten an accident exactly yeah that's my big thing is uh everybody's building out of wood and bolting it straight in it looks
37:12
pretty but in the event of a accident that's not good right well and the same thing here right yeah if this
37:18
was just sitting up here you got an accident a huge projectile yeah the fact the only reason we can put it up here is
37:23
because we mount it to the paneling through the framing of the box through the body of the perfect perfect so this
37:28
isn't going to come over first excellent and uh yeah we just step
37:34
around the rear show us that pull up tray and then uh if you guys have anything else
37:41
we'll hold this jimmy when you come through you'll hold it uh we're just gonna we're gonna go on the back side okay just pass
37:47
me
37:53
i love that some of this
38:08
yeah this is a flatland van company's pull-out tray they take up about half the gear garage which is nice but you
38:13
can mount double bikes in here um that's awesome use it for your gear
38:19
but we run a outdoor shower like our comfort showerhead's a little bit different nozzle yep so instead of
38:25
having a shower head you have a push button so it's more of a hose right wash off the dog or the bike but you could
38:30
also use it to shower we've got lights in the gear garage accessible from this side so you can
38:36
turn on the lights from inside or if you're accessing the gear garage from inside you can turn on the lights from that side as well
38:42
awesome what else we got out here so go baja aftermarket wheels
38:49
275s ko2's so a lot of lift suspension clearance
38:55
underneath yeah awesome got butter and then uh oh yeah you guys are using
39:01
the smart plug that's nice we do the stainless steel one you know it's just like there's certain things
39:08
you don't want to skimp on yeah heck yeah and then around the front we do the back
39:14
wood bumper not everyone does this but this is an option we love the back wood stuff
39:22
so durable super light you got a 12 000 pound winch synthetic rope you got a
39:27
light bar light pods you can set up your light paws to be amber so if you want to use them in the daytime yeah yeah we're
39:32
doing the spots or floods yeah the pathfinder lights are really
39:38
good thank you well awesome tour thank you so much yeah
39:43
for sure it's nice to meet you again nick nick yeah where can we find it uh van builder hq
39:49
next up we have elementum adventure vehicles and uh this van really caught my eye so pay attention to all the
39:56
details of this van both interior and exterior
40:01
as we walk around this van tour hey guys how's it going we're here with
40:07
ben from elementum adventure vehicles what are you guys based out of out of hood river hood river thank you
40:14
very cool um his bike uh bikes his vans caught my attention because the
40:21
bikes in the back you probably saw some photos from that but uh tell us about this one specifically sure absolutely so
40:28
this is our latest demo um big van as you can see it's got 35s on
40:34
it six inch lift it's got the e-adapt falcon get that from van compass they
40:39
tune everything special for us to the west vehicle it's got skid plate up front skid plate
40:46
on the rear diff it's got our roof rack on it that houses a rooftop air conditioner
40:52
that gets imported from australia and 800 watts of solar on the roof train
40:57
horn up there for scaring your friends cell booster that pops up out of it starlink mounts
41:03
awning this bluetooth controlled now the ac from australia is that a particular brand name it's a hotend
41:10
okay okay it's a really good one nice and quiet you turn it on when we get in there is it 12 volt it's actually 110.
41:17
it's 110 okay i found that to be more efficient than any of that 12 volt systems it's about that a third the noise level yeah so just using like an
41:23
inverter to power it exactly so underneath that couch there's 17 kilowatts of lithium ion power
41:31
so run that rooftop air conditioner for about three days and then there's a dedicated alternator
41:36
on the engine the van will auto start itself run at a high idle to recharge that pack at a preset threshold so you
41:42
don't have to be close to it just kind of keeps things going gotcha heated floors that are heated by
41:47
a s bar system okay is it hydronic yes okay so hot air on demand hot water on demand
41:55
and we do hydronic plates close to each faucet so there's no waiting for heated water
42:01
this fan has 53 gallons of fresh water on board 47 gallon diesel tank
42:06
you can do quite a pretty fun thing you can be gone for a while man that's nice rocking stereo with
42:12
morel and audio control components i like those guys
42:18
so bamboo wood for the ceiling and the cabinetry that's all cnc cut in our
42:25
in our facility we have our own cnc machine we design everything up in cad before we even cut anything
42:31
the floors all cut on our cnc walls ceiling everything we do all of our own
42:37
upholstery work in-house you can see this one has pendleton inlays and the factory driver and passenger seat
42:43
pendleton backs in the couch this couch pulls out into a
42:49
full bed you can also get a glimpse of the power system that's stowed
42:55
or underneath this all right yeah come up here jamie for a second
43:02
yeah you get a little bit of audio system in here just a little bit rocking audio system exactly
43:07
and then under there is the batteries for 270 amp hour battery four 270 amp
43:13
hour batteries uh any brand that they are battle ones battleborn is nice
43:19
so dragonfly energy is the parent company um and they have a few different this is these particular ones are the 8d cells
43:26
they just fit really well underneath our couch gotcha
43:35
[Music] all day um
43:40
so this pulls into a twin of course nice all of our curtains are magnetic
43:47
so it flops down and just magnetically attaches to the wall oh and you guys actually produce them very nice
43:52
everything in-house so my wife steph actually does all of our soft goods we do custom uh foam for each individual client you
44:00
gotta pick your densities all that kind of stuff nice same thing with the bed all that's made in-house oh yeah that's
44:05
on the screen size bed back there actually tacos in half of all of your bedding in it and folds up against the
44:12
passenger side wall it's like like a hybrid murphy yeah i can show you in the van next time okay
44:18
that one's actually designed to fit over the motorcycle that's in there nice tell me about the shower um i'm assuming you
44:25
guys do that in-house as well yeah that's our design it's a laser cut cnc formed
44:31
all welded up nice and sealed relatively lightweight for what it is
44:37
and it provides plenty of room i'm 6'4 62 240 and plenty of room in there to
44:42
you know get in and get that wetsuit off all that kind of stuff the apartment
44:48
just the shower in general oh yeah fire up the air conditioner so you can hear
44:56
[Music] it turned off
45:02
[Music]
45:12
this is kind of fun too while we're waiting for that to power up a little countertop extension that comes out nice
45:17
of course you do have storage here storage all throughout the galley right there
45:23
is this a cruise 130 this is a cruise 130 good eye okay yeah because i'm wondering
45:30
because it's the one you want but it's always tricky to find out how you're going to put it in in a van so we set this one up so you
45:36
can still you know yeah grab your beer and give it to your buddy from outside of the van without having to be
45:42
inside down here we have the main water fill nice
45:48
hot cold shower on the side as well
45:56
so this would be your uh that's mixer oh yeah these cpc connect these are good
46:02
yep got all your control panel up here so separate thermostat for the heated floor
46:08
what did you say this one was this air there humble right here there there's actually two compressors on this do you have a orb uh no we do uh the mat or the
46:16
extreme air okay a little bit earlier than they are be honest you got your two gallon tank on board
46:22
there's a separate compressor for the train horn that's on the roof so gotta do it right gotta be redundant
46:27
with the train horns yeah yeah yeah that's all controlled through the panel that's on in the front
46:32
there wow man you can see all of that panel out of there
46:38
or you can control it that that's so neat
46:44
via the phone as well so you can turn on and off the
46:49
cell booster antenna that's on the outside i'll put it on the back
46:57
do you guys like the uh serbo gx do you like the serbo
47:02
gx system yeah i do really like that it gives you a lot of information and so this van is actually cellularly
47:08
connected as well so it's always uploading its status we have four separate temperature readings it
47:14
transmits the tank levels all that kind of stuff i can turn it on and off the air conditioner so do you
47:20
use it like troubleshoot with the clients you can't okay [Music]
47:27
magnetic closure that we build in house okay all the separate pockets in the back so this van
47:34
will hold so there's 36 gallons of water here there's 17 underneath that's heated with some glycol lines from the heat
47:40
system so no never have to worry about things freezing it'll hold either four mountain bikes or
47:47
two bikes in iraq skis and snowboards this is all modular so then the snowboard rack will
47:53
come out these shelves will also come out yes quite quickly plus led lights to kind of light
47:59
everything up got more starlink on the roof
48:06
or your cell booster which yeah just hate seeing bands out there that have the cell booster sticking up like a
48:12
piece of hair so ah nice can you take pictures and watch that move
48:21
is it just like basic linear actuator just like a it is but we actually cnc out of a solid
48:27
billet piece of aluminum the actual mechanism itself gotcha so that's what actually allows it to move
48:35
that's nice yeah yeah i get a picture
48:45
[Music]
48:59
automatically tuck away [Music]
49:06
light it up it lights up about a square mile there's lights all around this thing so uh i mean this is open at night
49:13
all right closes it okay we've got rock lights underneath all the wheels okay so there's actually
49:19
12 amber lights all underneath this van nice like a ufo
49:25
and all of the rigid lights and guys these are lt 315s 7017s
49:32
very big tires definitely requires a little bit of trimming yep
49:38
and these uh lp9s very design do a nice job
49:46
backwards adventure mods bumper of course we designed our roof rack to
49:52
work well from a design standpoint with wow of the backwoods bumper
50:05
yeah that's kind of the quick tour nice and then this other van
50:14
so this one was designed to hold an adventure bike but
50:20
he still wanted to be able to hang out in the van when he was on a trip somewhere right still be able to deploy the bed so here's how our bed works
50:27
comes across kind of pushing in a pulling hydraulic strut and the mattress comes down
50:34
and you can actually taco all of your bedding inside of that so great and tuck it away 30 seconds
50:44
and you'll see it still deploys with the ah okay photo
50:50
and all of the luggage yeah can i take this uh reckless 80 home
50:55
with me [Laughter] it's a good one yeah and you're giving this away right for uh
51:01
yeah for marketing free moto with every van purchased the 890. gosh this is so great
51:09
i think that's so cool [Music]
51:17
there you go tractionator yeah this is the new the dt yeah i really like that
51:23
one you should try that one on your uh klr it does a great job and you can flip it so you know how the tires can help over
51:29
time you can turn that around and get a little more life out of it and it does really good on everything
51:35
from street to loose gravel all right guys we're going to talk about motorcycles here for a second so we're going to cut the camera off once again
51:41
this has been with elementum adventure vehicles so i appreciate it absolutely thank you very much
51:47
[Music] next up we have wes watts from tiny watt solar and we're going to check out his
51:52
new all-in-one power system yeah just we'll just tell about your weight
51:59
let's do this they're solar chilled we could have got that on film too solar chilled
52:06
oh god oh yeah go ahead and start it jamie you got it [Music]
52:11
west watts all right i'm reloading over here tiny wants solar that's right we're getting our lacroix that are solar
52:18
powered solar chips solar solar chilled all right we're ready okay this is really exciting so if you guys don't
52:24
know tiny white solar they've been working on this system that's kind of like a one and done so
52:30
you can do like a plug and play you don't have to kind of piece mill stuff together
52:35
um so i haven't seen this yet i literally walked around the corner and was like okay this is what you've been talking about yeah
52:42
when people been like interviewing you about so uh tell us what is what this is so we're electrical
52:48
company obviously um we do pre-wired power centers and we have been doing
52:54
pre-wired power centers for some time our business been in business for five years there's my lovely wife savannah
53:00
savannah but the gist of it is we would build a power system in a box and wire it all up
53:06
great that's awesome it's a powder coated enclosure it's rugged off-road ready but it was kind of a rectangle in your
53:12
van full of electrical things that now you're like all right well i have to build the rest of my van around
53:17
this if you're paying for a powder coated aluminum enclosure we might as well just make it the shape
53:23
of the base of your bed yeah right and so the idea now is for one we can bring the cost of the frames down because
53:29
we're ordering a matching side so you're getting two at the same time instead of just one
53:34
and if we shape it like your bed platform as you know some bed platforms cost 2500
53:41
bucks so that can also get factored into the cost so we're trying to bring more utility to the table
53:47
by not it just being an electrical box but yeah it's also water on the opposite
53:52
side also over the wheel well yeah so this was a surprise i was looking at this and i was like
53:58
man it's like yeah it's too good to be true it's like two so you can't see anything right now because it's closed but this is actually
54:04
your like quick connect hot cold shower and so you know most people in the back of their van have the little storage net
54:10
grab your little shower handle quick connect here this has a 30 gallon northwest
54:16
conversions well water tank right so you get 30 gallons of water we pre-plumb the
54:22
water pump the pressure accumulator we install the level sender that talks to the touchscreen so you know how much
54:27
water you have here so water pump accumulator yep and the tank and the tank and the outdoor shower and
54:34
the city fill and it's kind of the same concept right you've been we've been offloading the electrical pre-wired
54:40
pre-packaged pre-tested yeah so let's just do the water thing too because it's another confusing system that people get
54:46
wrong and if you do wrong it leaks and it's bad and we also include
54:51
a guzzle h2o so they make a 12 volt um uv filter for drinking water so you
54:57
can feel safe about drinking your water wherever you are gotcha um so that's all like pre-plumbed pre-tested all the
55:04
things on the water tank side and you can see the little notch here is where your bed platform lands
55:11
so water on one side power on the other it's optimized over the wheel well
55:16
yeah so yeah this looks like uh kind of like a juggernaut of a system
55:22
because you've got this is juggernaut that's a good that's a good name for this let's call it the juggernaut the juggernaut he wants juggernaut yeah yeah
55:29
yeah i'll license it home jerking um so this uh 400 amp hours
55:35
uh explain to everyone why you need everything to have its own like independent disconnect yeah a couple
55:42
things that are going on here so this is 400 amp hours at 24 volts
55:47
so it's 10 kilowatt hours which is actually equivalent to 800 hours at 12. yep right so it's definitely our largest
55:54
system is what we call the tiny watts 10 because it's 10 kilowatt hours as you mentioned
56:00
every single wire in here has a circuit protection when things go wrong
56:05
current flows through wire wires can catch on fire because they get hot and if they're not
56:11
protected by a circuit breaker then things can catch on fire in a van we
56:16
like using aluminum enclosures because aluminum doesn't catch on fire for one but it also acts as an additional heat
56:23
sink so in a sense all these components have aluminum heat sinks on them this helps
56:29
dissipate some of that extra heat and also it's strong right like people
56:35
want to go off-roading in their vans if your plywood box falls apart then your power center falls apart
56:41
wires can touch and short and cause fire so we got all our circuit breakers here another thing is like this is the
56:47
central breaker interface accessible from the back of your van so
56:52
you open up your back doors you're going to see this you got our laser cut labeling looks really nice we got our
56:58
flush mount breakers you can put this in your van you can have 110 volts you can plug your fridge
57:05
into your 12-volt socket you can charge your phones and laptops and you can build the rest of your van
57:11
that's kind of what we tell people you got all your 12 volt circuits you got your some 24 volt circuits here
57:16
yeah yeah and correct me if i'm wrong but this is
57:23
a great starting point for ac for like a 12-volt ac system actually
57:28
this is big this would just be enough yeah so this would easily run a 12-volt ac system but if they're going to like a
57:34
110 volt system i mean you could probably get what yeah six to eight hours exactly so for
57:41
for people that already have 120 volt air conditioner they use 1800 watts right they use a lot of power yep this
57:47
is the kit we recommend for them because you can run it for about six to eight hours you go to a 12 volt air
57:53
conditioner we're talking 16 to 18 hours right not counting the solar so
57:58
this is our big system tiny watts 10 500 watt inverter 10 kilowatt hour battery bank
58:04
you can run i thought it was i thought it was three the thing with the 5000 is
58:09
two 1800 watt appliances at once so we tell people that's an induction cooktop and a
58:15
toaster oven or for the people that have 120 volt air conditioner you can use your microwave when your air conditioner
58:20
is on all right so it's that double appliance feature where really i think our tiny watts 5 is is
58:27
my favorite kit it's 5 kilowatt hours 3 000 watt inverter you get that coupled with a
58:33
secondary alternator kit and some solar on the roof like you're you're rocking plus you get the efficiency of bumping
58:39
up to a 24 volt system yeah it it physically fits more in a smaller space
58:45
this inverter if that was 12 volts would be two inches bigger in all the directions like it's a beast right so
58:52
the wires are smaller the components are smaller you can feed a 24 volt air conditioner directly so like for the
58:59
cruise and comfort acs he's got a 12 volt unit great that's awesome it's eight eight thousand btus
59:06
you bump up to their 24 volt unit it's 10 000 btus so there's some other advantages like the 24 volt alternators
59:13
24 volt air conditioners and that's why we use the 24 volt yeah so that's my next
59:18
question like if this was fully charged nothing in it no solar no
59:23
alternator i mean you could go for a while but i know you have this able to be hooked up to like a secondary
59:30
alternator yeah so what is that what does that look like where would somebody do that so that's what the wake speed 500 is um that's the
59:37
voltage regulator that talks to the 24 volt alternator okay so long story short
59:43
the alternator is charging these batteries directly so that's another advantage for us to go 24 volts
59:49
you can use the 24 volt alternator which is basically a 3 000 watt gener generator under your
59:57
hood right so you start that you recharge these batteries in like three hours three and a half hours so you have
1:00:02
like a prerequisite for what your the van needs to have to be able to charge the system
1:00:08
yeah we basically we usually like start the conversation with the client when they have nothing right and they're like i want air conditioning for 12 hours for
1:00:16
my dogs is most often what happens right and it's like okay great well the hours
1:00:21
of air conditioning that you want are based on the thousands of dollars you want to spend on lithium yeah and so we
1:00:27
start with like that ultimate and we work backwards from there you know so we recommend as much solar on the roof
1:00:33
as you can fit because that's going to help offset that dc air conditioner ideally you get a couple panels up there
1:00:39
now you're powering your air conditioner from your solar all day long and then the batteries are there to get you through the night right
1:00:45
so that's that's really the indefinite off-grid what we like to call solar freedom right
1:00:51
you can go anywhere you want to go power your air conditioner because you got enough solar on your roof right
1:00:56
that your batteries are just there to get you through the night and then the sun comes up again you're charging right so
1:01:02
yeah the the other part of the alternator with a 24 volt alternator you can run smaller wire and we would land
1:01:09
positive and negative coming back from that alternator right here on the distributor so it going it's going direct to the batteries
1:01:16
now is that something specific to 24 volt that you can go directly to this
1:01:21
no not necessarily it's just matched with the battery voltage right so the 24 volt alternator means you can run
1:01:28
smaller wire all the way up to the front of your van that's a 35 foot run right so that cause this is what two
1:01:34
watt this is number two this is two ought here in the back because you would typically run four exactly so you can
1:01:40
run and that's very expensive it is and it's heavy and it's it is it's expensive does not fit around corners we could run
1:01:46
two ot instead with the 24 volt system we could probably get by with smaller because the voltage drop
1:01:52
so yeah for us it allows us to know the system was built correctly we paid for our lead
1:02:00
technician lauren to go to school and become abyc which is the marine electrical code yeah so he's a certified
1:02:07
technician he's taken the course he's passed the class right so everything here we try and follow the abyc
1:02:13
electrical spec i have an electrical engineering background but like it was built right so when they call us
1:02:19
we can say oh yeah well yeah you forgot to hit this switch now your solar works yeah yeah yeah anyways yeah it
1:02:25
simplifies it yeah so next question is i've been asking a lot of people about the serbo gx and how they feel about it
1:02:31
for like troubleshooting for customers and stuff like that yeah um because i'm assuming you guys got this
1:02:37
laid out you know all numbers so that if somebody does get a system in and like you said
1:02:42
earlier like they forgot to flip that breaker yeah you're like you forgot that they'll probably call us
1:02:48
first is what most people want to do yeah but there are there have been projects where
1:02:54
it sounds a little weird something's going wrong like well that's interesting i haven't heard that before so we pull their system up
1:03:00
online and then usually it's like oh yeah your batteries are at 23 volts you know
1:03:05
which is like 11 you know at 12 volts it's like your batteries are low is is 99 of the time
1:03:12
what's wrong and then it's just hey get back hooked up on charge so it lets us see
1:03:17
the true information of the system if they connect it to wi-fi and if i have to i'll redown download
1:03:24
their inverter settings and reboot their system so it gives us insight to
1:03:29
information that we need to accurately you know troubleshoot and you use two of these for
1:03:34
expandability or you just it's just helpful for like the wire runs and everything yeah that's an interesting
1:03:40
question that comes up a lot um so this is the input side this is the left side of the shunt this is the right side so
1:03:47
this is all the output so the the batteries are meeting this only
1:03:52
and the shunt yeah i see that now exactly this is the smart bms and so this is the input this is just a bus bar
1:03:59
basically so you just did this so you didn't have to do this yeah it's cleaner it gives us a nice
1:04:05
interface there's no fuses in here on the distributor this is all the output
1:04:11
basically you know we got our charge controllers we got our inverter we got our alternator everything's gonna go in
1:04:16
and out of here and there's fuses in here protecting all those wires in addition to the circuit breakers but the
1:04:24
way that their shunt works is the left side is battery only and everything over here is load and charging gotcha with
1:04:30
the shunt in the middle so that's why there's two yep technically we could stack them on
1:04:35
these but we like this because it's a nice you know central interface and you can see
1:04:41
the wheel well box here you know we can show you the back of the kit too where it goes but this is
1:04:46
optimized to keep your inverter and your batteries the weights low and it's
1:04:51
centered over the axle of the van yeah there's a lot of air space here a lot of
1:04:57
space which is really important yep exactly very important um and then on the opposite side you know imagine
1:05:03
the same enclosure but it's got a big giant water tank in it is all yeah over the axle
1:05:09
now um i guess you can you're selling them like independently as a kit too you could
1:05:16
just buy the power side if you wanted to but we're trying to bring more utility with being able to get the match i mean
1:05:22
there's almost no reason not to buy both because it's uh yeah this is kind of what it is yeah oh
1:05:28
yeah like show this so this would be the electrical side in this example and
1:05:34
on the passenger side we would have the water enclosure i honestly just made this piece of plywood for the show to just show the
1:05:41
concept but um that's your base platform for sleeping sideways in a sprinter or a
1:05:47
ford transit put your mountain bikes underneath it's tall and skinny you got a nice garage
1:05:52
space yeah so it was it uh is it like 42 inches it's ford it depends on your wall
1:05:58
thickness and everything but to the bottom of the bed we've designed our kits our higher kits
1:06:04
to be 36 and a half yeah i think that's the sweet spot for a bike mountain bikes
1:06:09
36 yeah okay basically allows you to fit an extra large 29er my bike's not that big right so this
1:06:15
includes a six-inch storage cubby yeah i get that jamie that's this is this is excellent especially for like your bed
1:06:22
under your mattress right yeah we kind of joke it's kind of a staff spot your mattress would cover all of this but you
1:06:27
know hats beanies whatever books and so that storage cubby can get
1:06:33
deleted if you don't have an extra large mountain bike and you want this to be six inches lower all right so this one
1:06:40
includes the storage because i should have hit that height yeah but if hey i only ride a medium mountain bike i only
1:06:46
need 32 inches 33 inches gotcha we can delete that six inch cubby and bring the
1:06:51
overall height of this a little bit lower wow long story short we have a bed and a
1:06:57
bench kit so some people want a dinette bench in the back of their van so you're you're currently fabricating the system
1:07:03
that actually goes on here the bed yeah well this part of it could just be a you know
1:07:09
piece of honeycomb lightweight materials or something what i was talking about is these enclosures we have a bed
1:07:16
what i call the bed kit is tall and skinny like this right you're going to have a platform bed are you calling this the bed kit i got you okay the platform
1:07:23
bed in the back of your van you have a mountain bike center yep some people want a lower wider
1:07:29
bench with tables yeah so we have a bench kit that turns the tables turn into the same
1:07:35
thing you know water tank on one side power on the other for the dinette style builds
1:07:40
gotcha yeah sprinter transit promaster this happens to be the transit kit but
1:07:46
we have kits for the sprinters and most people sleep sideways but we do occasionally do the front to back sleepers gotcha and what uh
1:07:54
what uh design constraint did you have for saying this is the start and i stopped
1:08:01
there like why was this length 60 inches is the universal
1:08:06
width of like a queen bed gotcha and most people in shorter wheelbase vans
1:08:12
sleep sideways with flares that's right so you get your flares you sleep sideways so you take up less
1:08:18
of your build 60 inches from the back door 80 inches this way that's kind of like the common
1:08:24
mo one of the more common bed layouts that we find okay the benches on a 170 sprinter some people do a queen
1:08:32
this front to back you know they stretch the bench out to 80 inches but this is kind of the most common
1:08:37
layup and what we had at the shop this week so we brought it to the trade show nice yeah
1:08:42
so one last question i have for you um let's hop it over here with jamie real quick
1:08:52
so the juggernaut yeah the juggernaut yeah um what if somebody wants to
1:08:59
uh this is not the requirements like they don't need that much half of this let's
1:09:06
say they want they want to do a i'm gonna go really low on you they want to do like a 200
1:09:11
amp hour system um but they love the design the inverter and all that kind of stuff
1:09:18
do you make would you uh i guess yeah lack of a better word build
1:09:23
build down the system um because pretty much this is pretty you know you could it's the battery bank
1:09:29
and the inverter size that changes right for the most part all the other components stay the same yeah so you have the flexibility to grow into it
1:09:36
yeah so you could start off with like the 2000 so okay let me answer this
1:09:42
we build right now this is the tiny watts 10. which is a 10 kilowatt hour 5000 watt inverter it's really big it is
1:09:48
it's overkill for most needs unless you have 120 volt air conditioning yeah our most common selling kit is our tiny
1:09:54
watts 5. 3 000 watt inverter 5 kilowatt hour battery bank equivalent 400 amp
1:10:00
hours that's like our sweet spot exactly yep however for people that want to go smaller than
1:10:05
that we've tried we used to make a tiny watts 2.5 which
1:10:10
was a 2 000 watt inverter and a 200 amp hour battery is that the old one
1:10:16
that's an old one that's the old one that's an old tiny wall it's 2.5 and here's what happened gotcha
1:10:23
people bought the 2.5 because it was more affordable yeah even though they said their electrical
1:10:30
requirements were really light they didn't need a lot of power yeah yeah they got that unit yeah and then they
1:10:36
called us and said hey i installed a dehumidifier and my batteries are dead and we're like
1:10:41
when did we ever talk about running a dehumidifier so what happened was people would buy it because it was more affordable yeah yeah
1:10:47
but they would expect it to work like a tiny watts five and and basically we decided the smallest kit we'll make is a
1:10:54
tiny watts five because when i send a tiny watts five out the door so this can come in a five a five okay five kilo 400
1:11:01
amp hours 3 000 watt inverter yeah that is you're right that is the sweet spot i won't go smaller than that yeah yeah
1:11:08
because i've tried in the past and people installed air conditioners even though we told them not to so when i
1:11:13
send a five out the door the phone doesn't ring it works and of things to have a little bit more
1:11:19
of yeah electrical is that all day long right if you're gonna have a little more of something get a little more power in
1:11:25
there right because one of the things is and jamie you can come up with the camera so
1:11:31
when you're buying a power system you're going to look at the number and it's going to be a sticker shock and you're going to be like
1:11:37
i can do without this i can do it without this but just like you were saying as soon as you experience the life and
1:11:43
you're going and all of a sudden there's this annoying thing that says oh you don't have any power anymore because
1:11:48
you've ran out you ran your fan too long you ran this that's great way to put it you want it
1:11:54
you want to okay don't don't chance on your battery system out of all systems because it is uh
1:12:02
it's what runs everything it's a 15-year investment in electricity today and our
1:12:08
slogan is experience solar freedom and that's go wherever you want to go and have the comforts of home when you get
1:12:14
there and for some people yeah that is running a toaster oven and an induction cooktop at the same time yeah some
1:12:20
people that's running air conditioners maybe you didn't plan on having an air conditioner and you started camping in your van and it was hot and you're like
1:12:27
wow we should install an air conditioner you have a power system that can do that that's right right and so of things like you said to not cut
1:12:34
corners on electrical is not that no no no in power because i mean if you could if you get this system like this
1:12:40
you may not need to literally charge it for a week two weeks depending on your depending on your yeah
1:12:46
you got enough solar on the roof like exact clients have never plugged in yeah and and they camp off-grid all the time
1:12:52
and then when their house goes out of power they plug their house into their van you know to run the refrigerator at
1:12:58
their house so that's awesome yeah it's fun yeah tell them where they can find you
1:13:04
tommywhatsolar.com or at tiny watts solar on instagram it's myself and savannah my wife she's on the social
1:13:11
media so yeah get in touch with us we're happy to help answer questions and it's
1:13:16
an overwhelming confusing topic you know we're happy to help simplify it so you can do it in a weekend yeah you take a
1:13:23
shower you have electricity and you can sleep and build the rest of your van after that that's yeah so anyways cool man yes
1:13:30
thanks for stopping thanks again yeah cheers appreciate it okay we're starting off day two of the
1:13:36
adventure van expo with national indoor rv they've brought a winnebago revel and
1:13:43
added a couple extra upgrades to it so let's go ahead and check out the tour hey guys we're here with micah national
1:13:50
indoor rv centers and we're checking out this uh winnebago rebel uh what year is this this is a 20 22 year model nice
1:13:58
and uh yeah just just take us through this um this one's nice and clean because it hasn't been sold yet right uh
1:14:04
yeah it's kind of messy because we take it on all our all of our shows but uh we'll start on the outside um you have
1:14:10
your spot for your induction cooktop adjustable table just in case the van is
1:14:16
parked at a uneven you are still able to cook on a level surface nice so that's one of the great features that winnebago
1:14:23
has implemented and their new um rebels and then um carefree awning
1:14:29
wind um sensors on it so when it gets windy it does automatically retract
1:14:35
um so we could take a look on the inside here you might have to film
1:14:44
so we got passenger and driver's seat both swivels you got your adjustable
1:14:50
table here your two seats with storage underneath
1:14:56
nice and this does fit two car seats two people um it has a lap belt and our
1:15:02
shoulder belt so you got overhead storage right there
1:15:08
oh yeah usb and 110 outlets right there so easy access
1:15:16
then you got overhead storage right here you got your 12 volt refrigerator right
1:15:21
there number cool nice pretty spacious pretty spacious
1:15:27
right there you got your sink here um
1:15:32
some more storage drawers more your pantry
1:15:38
so you have a full full-size pantry there
1:15:44
and then another thing everyone loves is the full wet bathroom so this is a full wet bathroom with
1:15:52
a turnable uh toilet there you got your waterproof cubby for you know shampoo wash all that
1:16:00
good stuff you got your toilet paper roll right there then an awesome vent fan so it sucks all
1:16:07
that humidity out when you're taking a nice hot shower and your shower curtain
1:16:13
and i like the floor what is this what's this cover on inhabit flooring mats so they make
1:16:18
awesome awesome good quality mats real comfortable on your feet when you're barefoot
1:16:23
this color is called melange and it's a real poppy color and
1:16:29
they're great they make it for all of your coach and if you look inside all the door panels there oh wow and all the
1:16:36
cup holders even the dash cup holders they have them all in there whoa
1:16:41
yeah and they do outside flooring mats and uh about flooring mats man that's attention to detail absolutely
1:16:47
absolutely great product and then i'll lower it a bit
1:16:54
so this is a euroloft bed these are a lot in a lot of
1:17:00
classy diesel motorhomes so you'll see that and the bed goes all
1:17:06
the way down and it's uh 56 inches wide and it fits
1:17:12
about a 6 2 person pretty comfortable okay so you got a lot of space up there
1:17:17
then you got your ac up top so you can run your ac off of your inverter
1:17:23
for about a couple hours so it's a pretty good big battery pack in there gotcha does
1:17:29
this have uh what power system does this have this has the lithionics battery lithionics zentrax inverter so not volta
1:17:37
it's the lithionic system correct yep and everything you control by the app you can see your charging all that
1:17:42
good stuff right off the lithionics battery gotcha and with the electronics that's enough to power the air
1:17:48
conditioner absolutely uh for how long just um on a on a hot day say about 90
1:17:54
to 100 degrees you'll get about four to five hours you have run time on that ac that's right on full blast so
1:18:01
you know and then you can just you know start the engine idle it and let it charge up and it does have uh solar
1:18:08
um so you can let it trickle charge and all that good stuff and of course shore power and uh i'm guessing it has a
1:18:15
secondary alternator correct for the lithionic system yep so winnebago installs the secondary alternator right
1:18:20
under the hood and um with the heavy duty belt obviously and all that good stuff so we can take a
1:18:27
look around the back yeah i'll candy it adventure vans cool
1:18:33
and so are the wheels or owl vans correct these are alvin wheels and they're so nice and they have the quick
1:18:42
deflatable um i see that yeah right here that's awesome so that's pretty awesome so when
1:18:47
you're going down the baja or you're going down to moab you can just air down real quick and you know get better
1:18:52
traction and you can always um air back up when you have an air compressor on
1:18:58
and then you got the alvin storage boxing bag we've got the oil vans expedition large box and we got it jam
1:19:04
packed we got floaties we got parts you got rags you got everything in there
1:19:09
so great great box very sturdy with the b2 carrier one thing i love
1:19:15
doing is getting on it and bouncing on it
1:19:20
i love it very very good quality stuff right there nice then in the back here we got the
1:19:27
canyon adventure vans glss uh great great um
1:19:33
drop in product super light super durable super it's awesome um you can
1:19:38
have it as a hangout spot or you can turn it into a another day bed so there's another
1:19:45
cushion that goes right there and there you go you're sleeping another person yeah so if you guys listening this is
1:19:51
not factory so what does this makes this space more usable because
1:19:56
rebel usually it's just this panel over here and then the battery and then nothing else or just the bed so
1:20:03
this makes it yeah very very and it's never wasting more space so all
1:20:09
you're doing is you know that's awesome adding more stuff to it and adding more storage compartments
1:20:15
pretty amazing great products nice slam latches
1:20:21
and they are lockable so you can lock them
1:20:27
heck yeah oh yeah sliders and they do have a spot for a microwave
1:20:34
and all that good stuff in there
1:20:40
oh a spot for a microwave on the left side correct yeah so right where that comforter is that's where the microwave
1:20:50
and then uh the roloff the canada bug net system that is amazing system
1:20:57
and the greatest thing about it is you can unzip it and it rolls down and instead of unzipping it and zipping
1:21:02
it up every time you could just get the magnet right out of the way and this features on the on the back of the
1:21:08
coach and on the side of the coach real great feature and is that a coleman mach 8 it is a colin muck 13 i believe 13 wow
1:21:17
so it is a pretty good uh ac unit and it does cool this rig down i can't pretty
1:21:22
pretty amazingly so oh i didn't notice the bumper what's the bumper oh yeah this is a backwoods uh rear bumper it is
1:21:29
not being finished installed yet but you know in a time crunch you gotta get out the shopping we understand the
1:21:35
time for this yeah but this is a backwoods uh bumper very durable bumper um it uses all the factory um backup
1:21:44
sensors and the cruise control monitor all that good stuff and yeah even though and
1:21:50
there's others for like rigid lights or uh baja designs yeah so these are for um you can do any
1:21:56
uh light that fits in there okay um they usually come with the option of a pathfinder light which are pretty decent
1:22:02
lights um and all that good stuff so and you can use it as reverse lights or you can put it on a switch and turn them on
1:22:08
whenever you need to yeah and then we have the owl
1:22:14
um ladder slash tire carrier another amazing feature um it access two tire
1:22:20
carrier and a ladder because the regular stock ladder is not the best
1:22:26
it doesn't make you feel real safe climbing up that ladder so this is a very durable ladder
1:22:31
um to climb up and have you guys upgraded it to the agile agile off-road
1:22:37
off-road um rip kit the ride improvement kit and it makes a world of difference
1:22:42
um yeah so bigger payload these are 4 700 springs in the rear so
1:22:48
you know if you add a bigger water tank a bigger fuel tank your payload has increased majorly um
1:22:56
and this head this does have a black tank uh this black water this has a cassette okay i have your um five gallon cassette
1:23:04
right here so and it just pops right out and what's amazing about that is you know it's like
1:23:10
a little carry-on suitcase so all you're going to do is wheel it over to any gas station any port-a-potty
1:23:17
and you're just going to lift it up turn that empty it right out nice and
1:23:24
then you know you're back to doing business all over again no worries on that and then you have your gray tank
1:23:31
drain here and that's about uh 15 gallons of water and then your fresh tank is about
1:23:36
21 so this would technically be your black water tank water correct that'd be your gray correct yep uh and then
1:23:42
there's if you wanted to upgrade it i guess it'd be on you to upgrade yeah if you wanted more capacity yeah yeah but i
1:23:49
don't know how much room is underneath there there's plenty of wasted space underneath your coach you know especially when you um you know remove
1:23:56
the spare tire you've got um a bunch of room to add a auxiliary fuel tank a bigger water tank or um the
1:24:04
factory mercedes fuel tank is a 21 gallon tank but a great product smb makes a drop in 40 gallon fuel tank that
1:24:12
yeah is that the one that just snaps into the fuel oh no not that one i'm talking about so the rear one they make
1:24:17
a aftermarket yeah agile has the aftermarket uh another 40 gallon fuel tank that goes right so you could do 40
1:24:23
and then you could do another mercedes uh smb smb makes a factory placement
1:24:29
right steel tank gotcha doubles the range and that's pretty amazing pretty durable that's one that looks just like
1:24:34
crazy yeah crazy yeah yeah they're utilizing all that wasted space yeah so why not use it
1:24:41
and all the factory everything clips there um are we using the
1:24:46
winnebagos version of the roof rack or have you done anything to that no this is winnebago's version okay roof rack um
1:24:52
yeah so all we did was we added a casey light bar to it okay so that's the only
1:24:58
difference that we made to this band and uh what's that backwards adventure
1:25:04
mod front correct so this is the back woods uh front bumper without the bull bar so we got the pathfinder lights i
1:25:11
kind of like it without the blue bars you look like much cleaner yeah exciting yeah yeah and then we got the worn winch
1:25:17
uh good always winch is always good to have so in case you get into a pretty pretty
1:25:24
crazy place so so agile off-road and it was it's a two-inch lift or
1:25:31
technically not a lift so um so from mercedes these are sitting two
1:25:37
inches higher so it goes to winnebago they put a bunch of weight inside and it drops about two inches so with the rip
1:25:44
kit all you're essentially doing is raising it back up two inches to its stock height gotcha with much better um
1:25:50
suspension gotcha and you can either stick with the stock um struts in the
1:25:55
front or on this build we went with the koni front struts with the springs and then
1:26:01
the fox 2.0 shocks thank you and guys if you just want to nerd out it's a 275 70 17 yes for the tire
1:26:11
these alvin i mean these are my favorite those are so clean i love they're amazing i love that design
1:26:19
it's so clean yeah we got good space here um yes and then
1:26:24
this does have the um the mondo kit on it so terra eigens mondo
1:26:29
kit to give it two more inches of clearance right here so if you're gonna go with a two different 275 tire you are
1:26:36
going to need this kit oh the mondo okay i think i've seen it on a video like this if this is cut and then this they
1:26:42
provide this yep exactly okay yeah and it just pushes it back so you have all the clearance in the world and we can
1:26:49
even go to a bigger tire if we really needed to we can go to 285 and rub with no issues wow 285 okay
1:26:56
yeah so nice yeah this van is and the color is my favorite yeah
1:27:04
super popular color um that everyone wants
1:27:09
it's a pretty amazing van nimble van you can daily drive it if you need to you can
1:27:14
park it on the side of the road you know that's amazing man yeah well um tell everybody where they
1:27:20
can find you you can find us at national indoor rv we are located in las vegas um
1:27:27
but we have five dealerships all around we have uh dallas texas surprise arizona
1:27:34
las vegas tennessee and atlanta so you can google us search
1:27:39
us and we'll get you kind of the best deal around town okay so definitely check us out awesome cool
1:27:46
man awesome thanks so much yes sir thank you no problem all right next up we have outdoorsy bear
1:27:52
with me on the audio here there's an awesome steel drummer playing in the background but uh we're gonna hop in the
1:27:58
van here until we get a little bit better audio and talk to these guys about outdoorsy
1:28:04
hey guys we're here at outdoorsy we're with uh nathan and molly and they're gonna tell us a little bit about
1:28:09
outdoorsy and what it is but we're gonna hop in the van here [Music]
1:28:18
so this is our uh 2020 mercedes-benz rebel we're popping up right now molly and i are the
1:28:24
field marketing team for outdoorsy so we actually live full full-time on this vehicle right here and we travel around
1:28:30
a lot getting to kind of spread the word about outdoorsy and let people know kind of what it's all about so we feel pretty fortunate for a job um
1:28:37
but simple put um outdoorsy is kind of like a company that has applied the airbnb or the turo concept but two rvs
1:28:44
so what we do is we help connect private owners that have rvs camper vans and travel trailers with people that want to
1:28:49
rent out those same vehicles when they're not being used so on outdoors you have a network of over 35 000 different vehicles all
1:28:55
across the country that you can rent out and go take on a trip we're also in 14 countries worldwide so there's lots of
1:29:00
different options on different styles of vehicles as well as different places that you can go to pick them up
1:29:05
it's really popular for people that might be just getting into kind of the space and trying to figure out
1:29:11
do i want to buy one of these vehicles if so which one's right for me we have so much variety in the platform that can
1:29:16
be a great way to kind of try something out or just go take a trip and create some memories nice and uh so is there
1:29:22
like any minimum rental or does the person that owns the van actually kind of set those terms i'm guessing so the
1:29:27
owner of the vehicle gets to set all of those terms so they can set um a minute nightly minimum for the amount of
1:29:33
nights that they require the renter to take it out for some owners don't have it some owners do have nightly minimums they can also set a mileage limit
1:29:40
meaning they allow like 100 or 150 miles per day for free then after that they might charge a little bit extra they're
1:29:47
also in control over the dates that it's available for if the vehicle is pet friendly or not if it's allowed to go to
1:29:52
festivals or not um the nightly price that the vehicle goes for so we give our owners a lot of
1:29:58
flexibility and control to kind of craft the way the rental process works to work well for them
1:30:03
nice nice and um what's what's the longest somebody's rented a van for
1:30:08
do you know that's a good question yeah i know we've had rentals that have gone for over two months at least
1:30:14
there are definitely some long-term rentals that happen and then there's you know stuff as short as just a weekend too i gotcha it's a big variety um and
1:30:21
then on the back end of it how does outdoorsy support uh the vehicle owner
1:30:26
i guess behind the scenes yeah so there's a couple things that we do um first off we're gonna help the owner build their listing on outdoorsy.com and
1:30:32
kind of do some web design for them um we also handle all of the insurance so
1:30:37
we do require that the renters purchase insurance through us at outdoorsy that policy that renter purchases is going to ensure the owner's vehicle from two
1:30:43
million dollars worth of damages so that way even if something really bad does happen everyone's kind of taken care of in that
1:30:48
situation we do all the marketing to bring the renters and the owners together we have 24 7 customer support
1:30:54
and we help out with roadside assistance too so if you get a flat tire we'll be there to help you out back on the road man heck yeah and
1:31:01
for the customer is there um like suggestions on like trip
1:31:06
planning or where to go or anything like that at the moment um not really throughout dorsey okay but they can
1:31:12
always ask the owner where's your favorite place to camp around here like we definitely encourage that um so that's kind of the way that we
1:31:19
help owners and that's another cool thing too is that when the renters engage with the owners the owners have a lot of local expertise for their area so
1:31:26
they're able to share all that and kind of give some cool kind of insider tips on things you might miss if you're just doing a quick google search
1:31:32
yeah so i guess like the profile kind of shows you what's going on but i've noticed with other like uh ridershare
1:31:38
programs like there's one for ridershare for like motorcycles you can rent them for like adventures and like the customer feedback actually
1:31:45
tells the story about like how good the trip was or how good the van host or something like that was
1:31:51
um i missed in the beginning but besides just vans is it also uh just like
1:31:57
rvs yes so we have camper vans we have larger rvs we have travel trailers you
1:32:02
can tell behind a car we have a jeep with a rooftop tent we have truck campers we have all sorts of different
1:32:07
types of vehicles pretty much anything you kind of see in the rv sphere yeah we have that available on outdoorsy which i
1:32:12
think is is pretty cool just to see the immense variety that we have on the platform heck yeah so uh obvious question where
1:32:19
can they find you guys where can they where can they find us well the two of us are constantly traveling around to different shows for
1:32:26
outdoorsy but say you wanted to rent an outdoorsy vehicle we're in every single state in the u.s we're in 14 countries worldwide um being
1:32:33
new zealand australia a lot of western europe the united states and canada so there's lots of different places you
1:32:39
can go um outdoorsy is not a company that has like a centralized lot where all the vehicles are all the vehicles
1:32:44
are actually stored at the private owners homes so you're gonna go to their home do the key exchange there and then take the vehicle on your chip and when
1:32:50
you're done just bring it back to the private owner awesome and so uh outdoorsy.com georgie.com is definitely
1:32:57
the place to go yep yep no you just have to make a free account and then you have access to
1:33:02
booking 35 000 different vehicles thank you well guys thank you so much for sharing
1:33:07
outdoorsy i appreciate it yeah appreciate it last but not least we have two vans i
1:33:12
wanted to check out before leaving the show uh super clean build and they're by van speed
1:33:18
all right guys we're here with duran of van speed and he's gonna show us uh walk around this van this is
1:33:24
our loft layout from fan speed it features a full interior shower
1:33:31
it has a split kitchen so you have a sink on one side grey water neath you have a flip up table right here
1:33:37
you have a stove top on this side it's a two burner induction cooktop and then you have a full shower with a
1:33:43
flip down shade as well so you use it for storage or it uses a shower kind of multi-purpose
1:33:50
this layout we have a headliner shelfie here as well so you have player upper storage just for storing items blankets
1:33:55
pillows all that stuff and then the beautiful mercedes front dash
1:34:04
and then you have the full bed set up inside here so this is going to be a fixed bed
1:34:10
and then we have a slide-out bike tray underneath and then you have storage on both sides on the driver's side over here we have
1:34:16
all our power systems and this one has a 40 gallon freshwater tank underneath the vehicle
1:34:23
and then you have six gallons of gray water that's awesome and then one thing that really caught my eye on this band
1:34:29
is just the detail of the wood on the cabinets because
1:34:34
uh i do woodworking and i understand that that is um
1:34:40
that's a lot to kind of get that in there uh and then also the the ceiling too yeah that's really great well we try to
1:34:46
focus on their vans as princeton it's practical usable functional but also has a comfort feel they don't feel like you
1:34:52
left home so with the ceiling the walls the cabinets it
1:34:57
just feels like a comfortable feel that you're not really feel like you're in like more of an industrial rv or vinyl walls yeah it's a little more cozy um
1:35:05
has a style to it as aesthetic um so people that like modern homes or design it really fits them quite well
1:35:12
with this bed right here too is we have our capsules in place so give you over a
1:35:17
six foot seven headroom from side to side so for the taller folks it works out perfect you have slider windows in there
1:35:24
with bug nets right um and then full back open section yeah um one thing i wanted to do was uh
1:35:31
hop over to the second van to show like the dinette layout and then talk to you about uh like how
1:35:36
you guys do the accessories or like incorporate them in your van because i'm like you're i call them bump outs what'd
1:35:42
you call them uh capsules capsules um because those are actually your capsules correct yeah yeah heck
1:35:50
yeah so let's check out this one over here so let's go to the next van the lights aren't actually strobing that's just the
1:35:56
camera refresh rate so they're not actually blinking in real life
1:36:01
like the back dinette style but oh yeah go ahead and start from uh this is our evergreen dream v2 layout so it's a
1:36:07
great family for camping weekends two days long a week long has a flip
1:36:13
down two-person bench seat here that folds away
1:36:18
um car seats two normal seats great for kids adults as well shorter trips
1:36:24
folds up really easy again we have a headliner shelf up here blankets pillows um
1:36:31
throw away stuff right here full up and upper cabinetry section right here yeah well you guys have poster all of that
1:36:37
underneath there yeah that's one thing we try to focus on is all our fit and finish around just all the edges details
1:36:43
yes um yeah that's a big detail that's nice for us it really comes down to the details make everything super
1:36:49
tight perfect thank you um similar kitchen has the loft layout so you get the split kitchen two burner induction
1:36:54
cooktop fridge freezer combo right here with the freezer section on top
1:37:03
full drawer storage cabinet storage sink um and then also the flip up tray right
1:37:08
there yeah that's awesome back here we have our futon setup so
1:37:13
sleeping side to side it's about a six foot head room so you don't have a lot of sleeping room but it gives you plenty of space
1:37:19
depending on how you want to configure it um so just for sitting large table for dinner cards stuff like that works
1:37:26
out perfect um and then right basically
1:37:31
it just slides over that's all great what's cool is that it gives you either a u-shaped bed yeah
1:37:37
like a little daybed or a little seating section and then you can slide this part over as well and then it gives you a
1:37:42
full entire bag yeah yeah i like how that's on slides that's really great the capsules in this
1:37:47
one aren't used for the bin but it's just a great addition just to get a little more room back here kind of
1:37:53
arm rest a little ledge just that cup stuff like that and it overall opens up the whole entire
1:38:00
room thank this is uh some of our controls right
1:38:05
here so just keeping everything super clean hiding all the controls away
1:38:11
nice and this is for heated floors uh this is actually for hot water hot water okay hot water water pump air heater
1:38:17
water level gauge inverter and then solar perfect
1:38:22
nice yeah another thing i noticed talking to you guys yesterday was
1:38:28
the in-house uh fabrication you guys do for like the roof rack uh the side steps
1:38:33
and stuff so yeah tell us about that so um we're located in southern california westminster we're adjusting to 30 000
1:38:39
square feet of manufacturing so we have multiple cnc's um everything you see inside is made in-house as well as our exterior
1:38:46
upgrades which we'll go check out right now thank you um everything is all cnc cut bent and
1:38:54
welded in-house so kind of nice having everything under the same roof
1:38:59
just controlling the quality everything goes into it um this is our rear mule system
1:39:05
so this is the first ever modular rear door system so we changed the mounting section on it
1:39:11
so it's a lot more durable it's a lot stronger mounting area and it's all modular system so you can
1:39:16
put a tire on this side you can switch it to the driver's side you can have ladders boxes shovels water tanks
1:39:23
gasoline trays propane mounts we have a lot of different accessories for it that you can switch up and move around okay
1:39:33
and then the rear bumper as well yeah rear step actually gives you a rear step area to put your foot on so it's not
1:39:39
like a small little factory mercedes one yeah it works all the sensors yeah i love the rivet details
1:39:46
yeah it's a little extra grip but not aggressive if you're having bare feet yeah
1:39:51
smart so we have the rear tire on this section you can bolt the ladder on this as well
1:39:57
so if you like the rear ladder tire combo and you can also bolt different stuff you want to change it off you want to
1:40:03
put tires both sides you could do so so what's cool about this system is as you use it you can customize it to your
1:40:09
traveling situation ah because this is going your base frame right here is the same as the other side exactly just
1:40:15
mirrored yep okay they're all compatible so for example if you're going down to south america which we have plenty of customers do they want to take an extra
1:40:22
spare tire um to have two spare tires pretty crucial so they could put a spare tire on the driver and passenger oh that's great that's great or some
1:40:29
customers don't like the spare tire on the back it's underneath the car they want extra storage in the back so having boxes on both sides they could change it
1:40:35
up as they go on trips so paying for a long trip you could switch it to dual tires shorter trip just around town
1:40:42
you've got more storage in the back doors you've got gas tanks shovels stuff like that thank you and then all made in
1:40:48
house as well that's awesome and then here's that reinforcement guys right here
1:40:53
so you get that same thing over here it's
1:40:59
[Music] nice some of the coolest features on
1:41:04
this most favorite bottle opener but um in the van so
1:41:10
nice and then these are your capsules these are our capsules right here um so the driver passenger a little
1:41:16
different as far as the space they all have slider windows we do have a windowless one coming out so it's gonna be a solid one
1:41:22
um very high-end durable um for the holes of boats it's the same
1:41:27
fiberglass that's used nice so super durable you're not gonna get cracking you're not going to get hitting you're not getting typical stuff you see
1:41:34
um so very durable has a little more depth to it too the most important thing is that's even across the whole entire
1:41:40
length so from front to back you get an even space you don't worry about it's not tape yeah not tapered
1:41:47
and uh this is these components are also available aftermarket exactly so you can buy these
1:41:53
you can install them yourself you have a great i think it's a 10-minute install video you're doing it by myself yeah so
1:41:59
it's a one-person install um super easy to install you can do it in your driveway if you like we have plenty of customers that do
1:42:05
and then you can finish it out how you like and then i guess obviously you sell with uh the window option or blank yeah so if
1:42:12
you already we sell it with the opening for it and then we have a blank one coming out in the next month or so okay
1:42:18
um you can purchase the windows from us or you can go ahead and supply your own window nice and then url 10x33 gotcha and then have
1:42:25
you guys done anything like engineering-wise is it still just an adhesive based
1:42:30
connection it is an adhesive-based connection it's also a built-in connection so for builders like us customers as
1:42:36
well you hate to let it sit there and have to wait a whole day or two days for it to dry and then you can start
1:42:42
driving your car yeah so ours actually bolts in so it's good to go that's awesome um the urethane we use is more of a sealant
1:42:49
right and then it actually has a built-in ring channel on the top here okay so one of the biggest problems is
1:42:55
moisture will sit in here and actually go around your fiberglass piece right here and it'll start to rust
1:43:01
out so the forest actually has a built-in rain channel so as you drive through here the air will travel through here and
1:43:07
come out here nice uh so moisture overnight rainy days stuff like that
1:43:13
yeah on the driver's side we actually extend it all the way down so you don't have a gap right there cool
1:43:18
cool especially for people that have passenger vans they take off their passenger window you'll get a strip of urethane right
1:43:25
there so you gotta sand it paint it this one just covers that all oh that's sweet
1:43:30
um got our side ladder low profile you don't have to worry about gas station poles
1:43:36
inside the buildings hugs the body really tight and then we have our surfboards right
1:43:42
here too so it's cool because the locking setup i'm a big surfer um so having the
1:43:47
circles on is pretty crucial it's nice to have especially just at the beach send boards in but um the biggest thing is when the
1:43:54
wind hits it you're going down the freeway you get it slapping the bottom of your car uh having it locking yeah
1:43:59
it's a nice little feature heck yeah
1:44:05
the front circle you could double stack these as well okay so if you want to move them higher you just want double stack boards you can have that
1:44:12
you have our side steps um we don't call them rock sliders but not not to encourage the rock sliding
1:44:18
yeah i gotcha hold up here yeah no problem super durable all made in house
1:44:24
um all weld in the house as well so we just take pride in making everything in south california
1:44:31
[Music] and then our baja bumper with lp9 amber's on the front
1:44:37
and then our car rack with uh casey highlight slim lights wow
1:44:42
[Music] hey yeah awesome well uh yeah tell everyone where
1:44:49
they can find you uh so you can visit us at vanspeedshop.com um also vanspeedshop on instagram
1:44:55
and uh check out the website if you're in southern california feel free to stop by our shop awesome thanks for watching grant thanks a lot perfect thank you
1:45:02
all right guys that's going to wrap it up for our venture van expo in
1:45:08
bend oregon uh which is technically at the redmond location
1:45:13
but uh awesome show tons of van i mean tons of vans we got so much stuff to
1:45:19
show you guys so i hope you enjoyed and uh we'll see in the next video
1:45:25
[Music]
1:45:38
