hey guys welcome back to the live stream today we are doing the van upholstery of the rear panels of the camper van behind
0:59
behind me so we got everything laid out I'm going to talk you through just a couple of the uh well pretty much
1:05
everything you're going to need for this job um let me pull up a photo really
1:12
quick and then I'm going to show you where you can buy this stuff all right so here we go we got a
1:19
couple products and this is what I recommend to make it really easy to upholster a panel
1:25
doesn't matter if it's a wall panel rear door panel any panel so the main item
1:31
you're going to be using is uh your adhesive which I recommend 3M super
1:37
77 so I do not recommend the 3M 90 which is in the green bottle that's not
1:44
designed for fabric uh it's an adhesive yes spray adhesive but um it doesn't
1:52
have the same properties as a super 77 so uh just take my word for it from
1:58
my experience um I've got three cans here that's pretty much just to make the picture look nice but you're only going
2:04
to need maybe one can for these rear panels in the back uh I'll show you the steps on how to spray it how far uh how
2:12
long you need to let it off gas or dry before you spray the next um layer and
2:18
then we'll talk about how to cut the material so these yellow blades right here uh the name of the company is O LFA
2:27
you can get them at Lowe's and it's a Japanese uh steel uh razor blade
2:33
essentially and they're super sharp and having a really sharp blade makes all the difference in upholstery especially
2:40
when you're using this fabric that we're using we're using Marathon fabric uh the
2:45
heather gray color and it actually has uh some Teflon
2:51
strands in it that make it really resilient but however that makes it really difficult to cut so if you have a
2:57
really sharp razor blade you're going to be just fine um I put the Sharpie in there
3:03
because uh sometimes you might want to Mark maybe where you're going to cut something so it's just always good to
3:09
have some type of device like that device well you know marking pin whatever um and then over here on the
3:15
very left is these Nitro gloves and this is really cool kind of found out this
3:21
found this out by accident because I just have so many in the shop but these Nitro gloves the adhesive if you spray
3:27
it and you're messing with the fabric it will not stick to the Nitro gloves it'll just
3:32
kind of roll off like a little ball and you'll just uh it won't stick to it so it's a really good way to knock it on
3:39
your hands plus it's easier to work with the fabric there's points when I work with the fabric where I'll take them off
3:45
because I want to make sure that I'm feeling where the adhesive goes but pretty much 99% of the time when I'm
3:51
prepping everything and cutting I got these gloves on when I'm spraying uh then underneath here we have
3:58
a panel that we have have uh painted with a
4:03
exterior uh mildew resistant paint and we do this uh we do it on the surfaces
4:10
that most likely will get maybe some rain or some type of moisture so for
4:16
example these panels so we're going to come over here to this uh image here so the panel that's on the table that we're
4:22
going to get ready to upholster today that's going to go in the back of a van so if you have the door open and
4:29
it's a stormy day and it's raining you're going to want to have
4:35
some type of protection if the water gets so saturated into the fabric that
4:40
it goes to the panel now the benefit of sealing one side of the panel is that it it allows
4:48
the adhesive to not soak into the panel and it you'll use less
4:54
adhesive so it makes it kind of more efficient and I actually think it makes a stronger Bond it feels like if I've
5:02
messed up on a piece and I need to redo it uh it makes it almost impossible for the fabric to come off
5:08
so I think it really just uh it makes it better than just doing raw wood I know a
5:14
lot of people do raw wood I even think some manufacturers just sprayed on the raw wood and I did that when I first got started but I think there's a benefit of
5:21
sealing this one side where you think it's going to get moisture and it helping out with the adhesion so that's
5:28
why I do it doesn't matter what color you use um I'm using let's see if I got
5:33
the can so I'm using what is this this is Valar storm coat exterior
5:44
paint so this is what this looks like right there and then the properties on the
5:50
back it does a soap and water clean up the dry time is super fast it's 1 hour
5:56
dry time you can recat in four hours um let's
6:05
see so it's rain ready in Just 2 and 1 half hours guards the freshly painted surface from runs blisters or water
6:11
marks once rain shower begins because is it is exterior provides a mildew resistant coating and soap and water
6:18
cleanup and uh yeah it's 100%
6:24
acrylic and that's what I use but here's one more look at the products
6:30
while I get ready over here on the
6:36
table so if you haven't been watching our live streams we've been uh just
6:41
slowly putting together um videos
6:47
on all the steps necessary to start from a raw van interior ordering van panels
6:55
um showing you kind of what companies to go from go to so I'm going to change the window here
7:02
let's just real brief let's go on the internet and let's start looking really quickly at what we are working with in
7:08
the shop okay we're not using the fancy mic
7:14
today so just move that out of the way so the first thing we want to do uh
7:22
AVC rig and none of these products in this video are sponsored this is just
7:28
easy information for you guys to get your van built uh nice and quick so ABC
7:34
rig um I saw them online a couple years ago they have uh I think one of the
7:41
best um ready to go floor
7:48
systems and I found out about them through my first uh when we did uh the Marine One
7:58
build so that customer had purchased this flooring system so it's called the ABC
8:04
Transit floor insulated insulation system and subfloor and what they do is
8:10
they take uh if you guys know zip sheathing so Zip Zip sheathing is a
8:16
product let's just look that
8:25
up so sheathing
8:33
um so I think it's pretty awesome what they did it's a pretty
8:38
smart uh approach to making something um so what they do is they
8:45
take zip sheathing and there's a specific sheathing that zip cells that
8:52
has a foam core so it actually has
8:57
um foam it adhered to the uh wood
9:05
itself so what they do is they take this product in a 4x8 sheet of plywood and
9:11
then they map out uh so that the value that they create with this product other
9:17
than just selling you this you know foam board technically you could buy this and
9:23
cut it out this is where the value comes in number one you're saving time but two
9:28
they have three modeled the whole entire floor so all of the uh sections have
9:36
been 3D mapped to the inside of the van they CNC it on a CNC table I'm
9:42
assuming and not only that this is what they do is they cut it and then on the
9:47
underside they actually cut out all the grooves for the
9:53
corrugations of the van floor which is awesome um
9:59
so it sits right down on top of it you don't have to level the floor or do anything like that uh and then they also
10:06
take it a step further and then in this photo they give you a uh wire Highway
10:11
that's what I call it little wire Highway pass through so you can take some wires from the right side of the van and move them to the left side of
10:17
the van uh and they also accommodate for if you have a passenger van and you have
10:23
the um uh the sections where
10:29
the floor the seats need to fit in there so you've got a couple different options um over here where you
10:36
can if you have seat tracks or no seat tracks and then also if you have the regular or
10:43
extended um and then see these are the seat tracks they can preut out for
10:49
you uh now it's $2,800 let's see the $48 is
10:55
$2,600 you're also getting this uh uh trim step trim which is really cool it
11:02
really cleans up the van and I use this step Trim in uh let's
11:10
see if I got that tab pulled up already so if you look at the van that I
11:18
have currently for sale we're using the ABC rig step Trim in this uh
11:26
photo so that is the step trim it makes a just a really clean transition if you're looking for
11:33
that so this company also to get back on topic of today's
11:40
video they make a wall kit So within their wall kit they have all the
11:45
interior panels of the van including the ceiling and the doors you can order it
11:51
with the windows pre-cut out if you're not cutting the windows out then what you can do is um
12:00
you can just order them with without the cutouts so that's what I did because our left side of our van the driver's side
12:06
we are not uh putting a window because we've got a fridge stack that we're putting over there but we are putting a window
12:13
on the right side so I will need to cut out the window but the way I'm going to do that is the same way that I cut out
12:19
the bunk windows in a previous live stream uh so it comes to you in a really
12:26
nice box and what I mean by that is it's actually like a CNC box it's uh it's
12:32
pretty cool actually I kept it um so the two things you don't see are the rear
12:39
panels so that's what we're going to get to today is the rear panel so this panel over here let's go
12:46
ahead and move this stuff over so this is our rear panel so in our last live stream what we did is we taught you how
12:54
to mount this rear panel so this panel has all these screw holes in it and
13:00
that's how we decided to uh mount it to the back of the door thought that was the best way as far as where the transit
13:07
uh points are for doing any type of you know bolting something to the back door
13:14
so we're going to be upholstering that the next product that we want to show you
13:20
is the super so it's 3M super
13:27
77
13:36
so it's a spray adhesive um and if you go on manufacturers
13:42
websites so this is just kind of from my engineering background you've got these technical data
13:48
sheets and if you're ever wondering what the manufacturer recommends for a
13:55
product or making sure that the product you're purchasing works with what you're doing the technical data data sheet is
14:02
what you want to look at so this one is for attaching permanently attaching
14:07
foils carpeting lightweight foam paper cardboard felt cloth to painted or
14:13
unpainted metal wood hard wood or other base materials High grab low
14:21
soak so that soak in is what I was telling you about if you spray it and
14:27
it's on a painted surface it seems to the soak end is less um and then the soft no dimpling
14:34
glue lines uh one thing you need to make sure with a fabric you buy when I buy
14:40
Marathon there's actually a
14:45
uh so if you look this is the material itself but you notice how this's is this
14:51
uh really dark almost black uh something on the back here and if you look on this Edge you
14:59
don't see it so this is a coating
15:05
and uh depending on the thickness of your
15:10
Fabric and how they finish the back side of your fabric this is going to you don't want so much adhesive on the back
15:17
that it transfers back to this side and creates uh you don't want the adhesive to come through so that's why it's
15:23
really important to read the technical data sheet because and I know we're getting here but this is how you get
15:31
profession professional uh results as a
15:36
DIY so just follow the uh instructions on here so if you come down
15:45
um so you don't need let's let's pass through all of
15:54
this and let's see here
16:00
B much shelf
16:06
life well where is
16:13
it so sometimes they actually have the uh how do you install this or use
16:25
it okay so for this one we do know what we're using it
16:31
for and as far as let's just go ahead and for lack of for saving time here
16:37
let's just read the back of the can shake well before use oh yeah
16:45
there's an so I don't know if anybody pays attention to this but do you see that red dot so there's an arrow up on
16:53
the top of here and you need to rotate this
16:59
hold on my camera went off you need to make sure that you
17:06
rotate this nozzle to be in line with the Red
17:14
Dot so nobody's probably ever seen that before so turn nozzle so that pit points
17:21
to the dot in the can Rim hold the can 68 in away uniform spraying allow
17:27
adhesive to dry till tacky so what we're going to do is we're going to have our Nitro gloves on and we're going to be
17:34
able to usually just need to wait a minute if you're in an air conditioner environment air conditioned environment
17:41
and you're just going to take your hand with the Nitro glove and you're just going to tap it and it shouldn't
17:47
uh it shouldn't when you touch it it shouldn't be wet it should be just tacky almost
17:54
like you know a tacky surface that that way you know it's ready to uh to
18:00
work um it says if it transfers to your skin it's too wet if the adhesive aggressively tacky and does not transfer
18:09
uh to your skin it is ready to bond now you got to do both
18:16
surfaces um then for example acetone is how you can clean stuff up I also use
18:21
denatured alcohol but okay so that's the details on that so quickly I see a lot of people
18:29
using this other material uh other spray and I want to show you why you don't want to use
18:36
it so it's called super 90 and it says con spray adhesive so
18:43
let's click here let's do the same thing let's go to technical data
18:49
sheet and let's see why uh okay so we have uh this
18:57
one so carpeting lightweight Foams paper cardboard felt cloth now let's go to the
19:06
3m9 which is in the green can and you'll see that this
19:12
one is a uh for decorative laminates
19:17
particle board polyethylene probably propylene
19:24
and spr rubber so it doesn't say cloth doesn't say felt doesn't say fabric so
19:31
this is not the appropriate uh thing to
19:37
use all right last but not least we've got the uh
19:46
olfa razor razor
19:54
knife so here's the company that I recommend not sponsored
19:59
um this one is uh my favorite it's got a locking wheel I can't find it today I
20:05
don't know where where it is in the shop uh this is what the package looks like if you buy it at Lowe's it's a red
20:11
pack and um it's incredibly sharp so you
20:17
can buy this and then you can buy uh additional uh pack of knives so if
20:25
you buy the additional pack it's going to look like this you get uh eight
20:33
blades right there that's what it looks like and that's the name of the
20:40
company and then this is what what it looks like and they're really easy to change
20:46
the blade out all you got to do on this is just bring it all the way to the end this whole thing comes
20:53
out just like that
21:03
and then they're they're stuck together uh they're stuck together here
21:09
to make sure that they don't so watch this so these watch when
21:17
I slide it very carefully see how there's multiple blades here uh so they kind of suction together
21:25
and they look like one blade but look at this it's actually it's like magic we got three
21:34
blades then all you do is just take
21:40
it latch it onto
21:46
there and then you're just going to insert it
21:52
back into there now what you want to do is it has if uh I know this stuff is
21:58
obvious to a lot of people but some people haven't done this before um you see how there's little breakway points
22:05
so throughout your upholstering of your van you're going to want to break away this blade uh ever so often when it gets
22:14
to be dull that's what they're designed to do is break away and you don't want to keep it out here extended so that's
22:20
not safe you just want to keep it like this now you'll see me do this sometimes
22:27
with upholstering on the edges and that's just so I can cut through the fabric easy um but you want to really
22:34
keep it like this just for safety all right let's put all this
22:39
stuff away and let's get to a pulst string oh yeah there's one more thing
22:46
that I want to show you so if you don't have one of these um this is my grandfather's actually this is a I think
22:54
it's called a carpet square or drywall Square um it's pretty nostalgic it's got his
23:01
initials on it so this is really old piece but it's
23:06
uh it's very long I think it's uh yeah it's 4 feet long and this top part it's
23:13
about what is that it's probably 24 in wide but this is going to allow you to
23:19
if you come over here you have
23:26
your upholstery you can come through lay it out and then you can use this to come
23:33
through and cut and that's uh where we're going to
23:39
get started today so all right so my head's going to be chopped off the whole time but I don't
23:46
think you guys care uh what's important is learning how to do this now I've made
23:52
a bunch of videos on upholstery uh after this one I'm actually going to to put them all in a
23:59
playlist so you guys can actually view all of them and the first thing we want to
24:06
do is roll our fabric
24:11
out and then we're going to take our piece that we painted the other
24:25
day and what we're going to want to do is just make sure we have enough so
24:30
imagine that this is the back of the panel well here we go let's flip it over so we painted this side CU this is where
24:37
it's going to get hit you'll see that this one's not and this is where I keep all my information so this is my tag to
24:45
let me know what side of the van it's on uh this is where I Mark that it says back so I keep this raw just in case I
24:52
need to write anything uh plus we can see clearly all of our
24:58
holdes so this is the back side now we want to make sure that we have enough fabric um that's about 2 in let's
25:08
see this is about right about an inch and a half it's an
25:14
inch and a half you know 2 Ines you just want to have something you can tug and pull over and remember this is actually
25:21
going to also help anchor it to the other side so just make sure you have enough um
25:28
now if you're just doing this as a DIY maybe you give yourself a little bit
25:33
more room so what I'm going to do is I'm just going to split the difference
25:39
here and then I'm going to make sure I got it centered now this side there's a section
25:48
that is kind of ruffled it's just the edge of this you don't want to use this as your material you want to use this uh
25:55
dark or black side that's where you want to be your that's your cut off so make sure you still have enough to fold over
26:01
that's not this uh extra Edge so just like
26:07
that so once we have this uh where we want it so this is where I was telling you
26:14
you can extend your blade longer and what you're going to do
26:20
is uh I'll get that comment in just one second I just saw a chat come up here
26:29
so if you have the blade long it's going to make it really easy to come through
26:36
here and cut it off so now we've cut and measured
26:43
our pulser
26:48
um a t okay yeah I guess uh T Square that's
26:55
another thing to call it that's right T T
27:01
Square so now we have um now we have our panel like this and so this is the first
27:07
thing that I do so what I want to do is I want to take this
27:15
off and first things first make sure that the surface that you're working
27:21
with so this is my Surface now it looks dirty it's been painted on but it's fine
27:26
it's actually it's actually clean even though it looks dirty so because what you're going to be
27:33
doing is you're going to put your side your visible side
27:43
down okay there you go you put your visible side
27:53
down I'm just going to clean up all this fuzz off the back
27:58
back and then the next step is we're going to take and put our side we're not going to put adhesive
28:06
on on top of this and so the reason we do that is
28:11
we're going to spray adhesive on this piece so we're going to spray this side
28:17
first and we're probably going to do three
28:24
coats um so we don't put too much on here but we want to make sure we get
28:30
really good coverage here's the reason why you don't want this over time
28:36
to release from an area and then you're constantly having to kind of push back down you want to make sure you got
28:43
really good adhesion so we're going to take
28:49
this and we're going to
28:55
um spray along the EDG es we're going to do that first and then we'll
29:02
spray here and then we'll cut back around and what's going to happen is
29:08
we're going to kill two birds with one stone once we get this sprayed and where
29:14
it needs to be after we do three passes we're going to take this pick it up
29:20
we're going to move it over here and then what we have is we have a perfect
29:27
out line of where we don't need to do overspray so the overspray from our
29:33
first panel is going to actually to make a a line you'll see it it almost looks like a stencil and now we know where to
29:38
spray on the inside of the fabric so we're not just you know going crazy on these this
29:45
outside doesn't save a lot but it just helps you with uh you know where the
29:50
where the panel is going to finally sit um and then also I want to mention
29:55
depending on the fabric you get you're going to have vertical and horizontal lines from the way that it's
30:02
woven and these vertical and horizontal lines you want to uh be
30:08
aware of keeping that same uh you know
30:13
perpendicular parallel nness for lack of a better word
30:19
you don't want your panel that's going to be vertical you don't want to do this because then when you put it up believe
30:26
me it'll look it won't look right so you want it like
30:32
this so that the horizontal weaves and vertical weaves they are
30:39
perpendicular to uh the panel so if you just roll the F fabric
30:46
out keep it square and then have this Square to where you cut you won't have to deal with any
30:53
problems like that okay so you want to keep about a
31:02
foot away cleared so from my camera I got a foot from where I'm at I got about
31:08
a foot uh this material over here just going to slide it over it's about a
31:14
foot um because there will be just a little bit of overspray and you don't want to spray
31:20
anything that you don't need to to spray okay all right let's get started
31:28
with this upholstery so if you guys have any questions about what I'm doing it
31:34
doesn't have to be you can have upolstery questions or can be anything van related just put it in the chat and
31:42
uh I be happy to happy to uh answer
31:48
it so just like we said we took our can and we turned our thing so that it's
31:55
nice and square um we're going to take
32:02
our we're done cutting for now when we flip this panel over and they hear it and we start doing this that'll be our
32:08
next part of
32:19
cutting and again uh don't cheap out on the gloves these are the ones that I use
32:26
for like working on my car um when I used to work in a shop a long time ago like a tire shop you know we use these
32:33
black Nitro gloves and this uh Venom steel box of 100 you get them at
32:40
Lowe's they're really thick and you can see they're very hard to
32:46
tear and it just it makes it easy to work with all right so we're going to shake
32:52
our can up here about 30 seconds
32:58
go around the edge and we don't want it when we spray it we want it like a Mist across of it
33:05
if you start to see big bubbles uh those bubbles the ones that are
33:12
popping believe it or not that will be an area that the ad the fabric will not
33:17
stick to I don't know why that what phenomenon creates that but you don't
33:23
want to make these bubbles on here because those will be areas of it w it won't
33:33
stick all right uh I start in the middle just to get the stream you know set so I can
33:41
kind of see what I'm doing now I this is white paint I
33:47
usually choose like a color but uh I just got the paint I didn't want
33:53
them to Tin it most times I either paint my pan panels uh black or matte black
33:59
and it's so I can actually see how much adhesive I'm putting on so that might be
34:05
kind of a a cheat for you is use a dark darker paint uh when you're doing this process
34:11
as DIY because see I I just sprayed this and you know it's really it's kind of hard to to see um so I just uh realize
34:22
that teaching you guys anyway just watch what I do and uh
34:29
we're just going to go ahead and do our first coat so we're going to start on the
34:43
outside and then we're just going to start going to our middle of our
34:50
panel now I've got an exhaust system in this uh shop so I'm not really worried
34:55
about you know breathing this in but if you're in a more closed room you might want to
35:03
think about ventilation or or wearing a
35:11
mask okay so that's our first pass our second one we're going to
35:18
come in a different direction uh but we're just going to wait uh about 30 seconds for that to set
35:28
and then we'll be good to go for our next
35:35
step and what you're going to do is you'll be able
35:42
to feel how quickly this uh sets up with
35:49
your Nitro gloves and I've had the heat on in here
35:55
so it's really dry so this thing is going to plus with the ventilation it's going to tack up really
36:11
quickly okay so next we're going
36:16
to and actually that coat that I did that was actually a very uh fine coat I
36:21
need to do a little bit more cuz these edges see that's nice and tacky but this
36:27
middle it's not that tacky so I need to do some more just take my time longer in the
36:32
middle so we're just going to get it
36:55
started
37:55
okay all right so while that's drying Tristan
38:02
has a question um so this is for uh recommendations for passenger
38:10
side gals so there's uh two that I have right
38:16
now um let's look them up we've
38:25
got so if we go to Flatline vanco you guys
38:33
have probably seen me mention this before I'll I'll tell you some other ones um so fat Flatline
38:40
vanco has these two galys uh so these uh GS
38:48
there they are expensive um but one thing I like about them is it's
38:55
a it's B bamboo solid bamboo countertop that looks really nice excellent powder
39:02
coating uh the 41 in comes with two drawers a door and it's already designed
39:08
to accept a isotherm Cruise 85 drawer fridge
39:14
drawer style fridge or a Engle
39:19
sr70 fridge freezer so it's already designed to have
39:25
that allinone and then the section on the left hand side uh is an excellent place to put a
39:33
sink so I wonder if they show um so this one I think they show
39:40
this this is a smaller 24 in so if maybe you want to use a smaller one on the passenger side I did Squeeze In a 41 in
39:48
on the passenger side but uh it was it was pretty big but you can see you can
39:53
do a sink and freezer fridge freezer combo drawer one with a bottom drawer so
39:59
the bottom drawer can have like your induction stove you have a fridge freezer drawer pull out style and
40:05
there's enough room for a sink so it's a really compact unit and I think it works well if you want something
40:13
smaller uh I'm going to quickly go to let me go to
40:20
my got way too many tabs open right now um so this is a tight fit but what
40:28
you're getting uh the reason I did this is the
40:34
usability I think outweighs how big this is coming out so this is the 41 in uh in
40:41
a 148 in uh Ford Transit so this is how far it
40:48
comes out into the doorway and this doorway right here
40:57
I'd like to have 24 in but I think right now I have 21 in of width 20 or 21 in
41:03
it's okay to get in and out because but you get so much benefit of the the bigger Kitchen Gallery so that's one
41:10
option um the next one and I've not purchased this but
41:15
uh this is one I've seen that is uh it's not the
41:25
movie so it's called Lost Highway hi w y and
41:31
so this company Lost Highway they have
41:42
uh it's it's very you know Overland esque so it's not going to be as
41:48
aesthetic well I guess it just depends on your taste um but this is a
41:54
more I guess techn techical looking solution for a kitchen galy
42:01
cabinet um let me see do I
42:11
have
42:25
HQ so if you go to vaniller hq.com
42:33
um actually if you go to Google and you search uh van Builder HQ
42:39
Galley this link will pop up camper van countertop ideas for your build and this is a blog post uh that I
42:47
wrote that has um a bunch of different options so for example van speed has uh
42:55
this
43:00
uh oh you want the sink on the right what so sink on the right
43:10
side technically you know me I'm I can customize anything technically you could
43:16
put the sink on the right side you're just going to lose that right drawer but you could repurpose the drawer for a uh
43:25
space for all your controls so you could have maybe your like battery voltage
43:30
indicator you know uh plugs outlets and stuff like that you could repurpose that
43:36
blank plate because you could take the drawer out you're just going to have that uh opening um so you can do that uh kind of
43:44
get custom with it and then you can still have the the fridge below and then just reroute your gray tank to the left
43:51
side for example um
44:00
let's see
44:08
here here Tristan I'm gonna I'm gonna show you how to do
44:19
this okay it's okay our thing back there will be fine actually this is perfect cuz I'm
44:25
going what happens when you leave your adhesive and you need to reactivate it um okay so check this
44:33
out all right so this is your Flatline vanco kitchen Galley all right you've
44:38
got your uh hold on that's more
44:44
vertical okay so you've got your door
44:50
here all right and then this is that opening for the fridge
44:58
and then you've got a drawer here and then you've got actually let's
45:03
just make that so you've got a drawer
45:09
here and then a drawer down here this is the 41 inch
45:14
model okay this is what you could do so put your sink over
45:22
here um and then you could just create a door
45:31
here you know just put a door here and then that could be like your because
45:36
they have right here so let me rate that a different color Flatline vanco right
45:42
here has this uh aluminum bent aluminum interior piece and it's designed to hold
45:49
the weight of the fridge so this is covering the drawer down there so you
45:54
won't mess up the drawer if you decide to you know make a uh make this a door
46:00
so you can put the sink on the right side so you're going to lose you'll lose this
46:05
drawer but my idea for you is just turn that drawer
46:11
into you know like say how you got your battery monitor you know maybe you got some
46:16
switches like a plug um I don't know something like that and then uh this is don't uh that's
46:26
just straight black uh aluminum so you don't even have to mess with that and that way you can
46:32
still you know you can still have your faucet over here what I'm saying is you can do it
46:39
and so quick note though the back of
46:45
my uh see the back of this I made that
46:51
bamboo piece you'll have to make a back for it Flatline van it is an open
46:57
kitchen Galley the back of it is open there's not
47:04
um there is not a uh hold
47:11
on it looks like it's not closed but but it's uh where is this give me a photo
47:18
see the back of it does not it's open you can see everything so you'll need to create a back for it whether it's out of
47:25
another sheet bamboo or just plywood or whatever um okay last but not least this
47:32
article let me just put it in the chat this is going
47:41
to that link will show you uh when I went to shows different options for
47:49
countertops so different DIY options so that's the bamboo flat line vanod that
47:58
uh so you yeah you could definitely put the sink on the right you're just going to lose the drawer cuz you can unbolt
48:04
everything on the inside unscrew it
48:12
um yeah so check out that check out that all right back to the
48:23
upholstery so let's say you had to get pick up a phone call or you had to go
48:28
the grocery store I don't know but you left this to do something and you came back and you're like oh man I waited too
48:36
long okay don't worry this is what you do when you spray the next coat it's
48:43
going to reactivate the adhesive it's going to kind of Bring It tacky again because you can see it's not as
48:51
tacky uh so when we spray this for our final coat
48:56
this is going to kind of wake it back
49:13
up and if you guys are also looking for not ideas but you're actually looking for products that I use in the link in
49:20
the description below there's something called the DIY van build cheat sheet and it's an Excel sheet that I
49:26
created with the past 3 years of all of my Amazon purchases are on that list
49:32
it's over 250 curated items on that list and uh
49:38
it's great if you're just getting into this uh you know whole van building world because you may not know
49:45
what products I use or stuff I bought and it's literally the last three years of my purchases uh the best thing is
49:52
it's completely free so all you got to do is put your email name and email
49:57
it'll be sent right to your inbox and it's just got it's got all the products it's got all the stuff I use for 8020
50:04
it's got all the stuff that I use for uh like the max fans solar
50:10
panels uh Branch adapters for mc4
50:15
connectors um yeah it's uh it's
50:21
awesome okay so you can just see all I'm doing is I'm putting a really good code on
50:27
here so that we can get going all right everything looks good I'm not going to
50:33
touch it um we don't have big bubbles so we're going to be good on our adhesion
50:40
and notice I went around and got the edges the sides the edges are important
50:46
too uh but now what we're going to do is we're going to take this off and just like magic it's G to look like somebody
50:53
created a stencil for us and now what we can do is by doing those
51:00
edges like that you need to do the edges anyway but the edges are something that
51:05
really anchor the upholstery to the panel you're doing but now what we can do um is do
51:14
this
51:23
side all right I'm actually going to put my uh my mask on it's getting a little
51:28
getting a little crazy here in the shop all
51:36
right oh yeah this uh company if you can still hear me this is RZ
51:42
mask I found about this company uh there's [Music]
51:49
a carpenter in like New Zealand he's pretty big on
51:54
YouTube and this is what he wears when he does all his woodwork so it's just really nice and
52:01
light I kind of forgot what the guy's name
52:10
was all right so now we're just going to come through and you'll be able to see the adhesive more on this um than you
52:17
were the other one uh and
52:24
actually
52:29
Tristan I might have to go back on what I told you because when we put this on here it's
52:35
going to be the inverse uh I'm usually upholstering both
52:40
sides of a panel so that's actually when this would
52:45
uh work for us
52:51
so so it's going to be it's going to be close the point I was making
52:58
is sometimes you work with the fabric and say your piece is this big and you
53:03
have extra rolled out it's just so you don't overspray I think you guys kind of know what I'm talking
53:12
about but this is nice when you do it on a darker surface cuz see you can actually see and follow how much you're
53:19
you're putting on
53:54
okay
54:00
yeah so this little fancy outline stencil it only
54:05
works if you're doing both sides
54:14
so I think you guys know where I'm coming
54:20
from yep just wait so yeah
54:25
the first coats usually tack up really really
54:43
fast so we want to kind of get it close to looking like this white
54:48
area now you can go slower than I'm going um you just got to be careful that
54:55
you're not putting too much on because it'll uh this is where you got to be careful
55:01
not soaking it so much and saturate it so much that it goes through the fabric cuz that's really bad you'll you'll
55:08
never fix that you'll you'll ruin the fabric so when you're spraying it you
55:13
just want to make sure that it's not coming through on the other side so if you just do a bunch of light
55:19
coats it's almost impossible to get it to to soak in
55:27
um and when we're done what I'll do is I'll I might show you an example of uh if you really screw up what it looks
55:34
like it'll if you screw up really bad it's essentially going to look like a water spot it's like you pour like some
55:40
water on it it's going to turn black but as long as it's this nice kind
55:45
of white almost like snow it's uh you're going to be
55:54
okay and it feels pretty
56:00
good so you can see now since we've added these layers our next layer is getting more
56:09
white and that's what we want to see we want to see that
56:17
uh that change in uh
56:23
contrast
56:55
and you just kind of visually look really quick and say Hey you know I think I need to put some more
57:10
here and if some people are watching this they may say man that's a lot of adhesive so here's my reply to that you
57:18
only want to do this once you don't want over time it to be a hot humid day or
57:24
cold cuz your van is hot cold hot cold and you don't want this releasing from
57:30
your
57:37
panel so we're going to wait about 30 seconds uh I'm going to do just a little bit of
57:43
a pro move and I'm going to uh I'm just going to lightly spray
57:49
I'm going to lightly spray this panel right here
57:56
because remember how I told was telling you that it kind of deactivates you know for a second so
58:03
just just ever just a little bit just like that
58:11
okay and that just kind of kind of just wakes it wakes it back up so we're going to wait um we're just
58:19
going to wait a solid minute here and if you guys have any questions um
58:25
you can ask me right now while I'm kind of just hanging out with this
58:49
panel a waiting game all right so when it's 4:30 I'm
58:56
going to put this panel
59:01
down just couple more
59:09
seconds there we go okay so
59:16
now doesn't really matter which way you put this
59:22
down all right but because we have these two lines right here so this here this
59:29
will help you see we got this area and we got this area so we know that the panel is not any wider than this so
59:35
let's put our Edge that before we fold it down let's put it right here on this
59:42
Edge make sure everything's
59:47
flat and we're going to take it now see how this like this it's this cup shape I need to actually open this up so move it
59:56
like this so that it's straight and then I'm just going to put
1:00:02
it down here and then I'm going to put it
1:00:09
down like that okay and then I'm just going to
1:00:17
push it down and I kind of want to almost uh almost like a Fanning motion I want to put down very quickly by pushing
1:00:25
it so that I get uh I don't have like any ripples if that makes sense so
1:00:31
hopefully this works the way I'm telling you so like that so now what they done
1:00:37
it kind of push it out and so we'll just push it
1:00:43
down and so you can see already that we're we had this our width was
1:00:52
kind of marked out so when we let it down we got exactly what we
1:00:58
wanted now what we're going to do quickly is we're just going
1:01:03
to I don't want to flip this all the way over but I'm going to go on the back and
1:01:08
just with my hand I'll show you so we don't want to pull it over the
1:01:15
edge yet it's okay if you do it in one spot just to hold it but we just want to come in here and
1:01:21
you see how a little bit of uh like these craters we just want to go
1:01:29
through and this is a very satisfying part of upholstery is uh when it sticks
1:01:35
down really nice it's just uh it makes you feel
1:01:42
good okay now we might have some issues creasing down here we'll fix that in
1:01:47
just a second but we want to make sure this middle
1:01:53
port
1:02:02
CU push down so if you have a little Ripple here I don't worry I'm going to
1:02:07
show you CU it it kind of happens with the way that we're holding the
1:02:17
panel okay so now let's put this back
1:02:23
down I'll take my Max mask off for a second
1:02:29
and so here we're just going to pull going a pull to get that
1:02:36
Ripple that we accidentally created when we put the pulled the panel up and we
1:02:43
don't want this to go up yet cuz we're going to put we're going to spray one more coat around the edges
1:02:52
because we still need to we still need our adhesive around this Edge to lock in our
1:03:02
sides but we're going to do that in a controlled
1:03:08
process so so first thing we're going to do is
1:03:15
we need to identify where we're going to make our Cuts so we need relief Cuts in order to
1:03:22
do this so if you imagine if we flip this over this this is all going to Bunch up like that and it's going to
1:03:29
look like junk so we need to create a relief cut
1:03:35
so the first what we want to do is any corner so see this first
1:03:41
Corner we're going to go about a quar inch whatever the thickness of the material is uh we're just going to double that
1:03:49
and then we're going to come out with a 45 degree cut just like that going to
1:03:56
follow it down and so right here actually this is good to use a marker to show
1:04:04
you hold on we got a fancy camera let's zoom
1:04:12
in there we go okay so what I did is right
1:04:20
here is a cut and then right here we've got an
1:04:26
angle and we just want to split the difference and so the Cut's going to be like this and then we're going to play
1:04:33
around with this curve so we're going to C follow our straight line and where it starts to
1:04:39
curve just going to come back a little bit and that's going to that's the marking our first or start of our curve
1:04:46
then the curve stops about right here so we're going to cut a bunch of cuts here
1:04:52
then over here we're going to cut an angle um we got inside angle another
1:05:01
angle so this all makes sense here in a second got angle
1:05:06
Here Comes comes back it stops here 45 here 45 45 okay so imagine all those
1:05:16
marks that I just made are going to extend out
1:05:23
um to the fabric itself all right let me Zoom back to
1:05:29
where we
1:05:34
were okay see I think you guys can see that
1:05:39
pretty
1:05:47
good zo in just a little bit
1:05:53
go okay so we cut this so imagine this is
1:06:00
so it's can get out of our way then we got this one we're going to cut that relief
1:06:08
there and then this one right here going to cut our relief there this
1:06:15
will be a complex thing for if you haven't done it before which I'll I'll you're going to
1:06:21
see the whole thing and you can rewatch this video as much as you want
1:06:27
to you should do that get the views get the views up um
1:06:34
and then right here we've got another place where
1:06:40
we'll so you kind of see now we have these directions that we can work
1:06:46
with with the with the fabric um but now keep this flat because
1:06:53
we still got got to respray it but we're just doing this so that when we get ready to work with
1:06:58
it we've kind of done a little bit of uh guess you can call it like
1:07:07
homework okay feeling good now let's go ahead and take our
1:07:14
adhesive um we we pretty much used an entire can on this I'm G see if I have
1:07:20
enough for to do what I'm doing right now
1:07:32
and remember we still have that adhesive that we've already sprayed on the carpet itself or the
1:07:39
upholstery
1:07:52
itself
1:07:59
and I'm just going to use the remaining can on
1:08:21
this okay now these back Corners I got some
1:08:27
bubbles but if we go through and pop
1:08:32
them we can save ourselves just go through and pop all
1:08:38
those bubbles this will probably happen to you
1:08:43
too cuz when you come around this backside you're kind of in a weird position and you're you're going to spray longer and not be
1:08:49
moving so even I get that to happen but that's how I solve that
1:08:56
problem okay so we're going to wait a full minute for this
1:09:02
to tack
1:09:08
up because we did did a couple coats on
1:09:15
here that's tacking up really
1:09:22
good yeah I just got to pop those
1:09:28
bubbles if you have
1:09:37
any all
1:09:52
right
1:10:13
okay all right so now this is where I'm going to take my gloves off cuz just like
1:10:20
to work with the material a little bit differently I am going to come over here
1:10:25
and break off I covered my blade and I broke it off so now I have a really nice
1:10:33
sharp piece of Blade and what we want to do is we're
1:10:38
going to start on the these uh Square
1:10:44
areas and I made this slash but then it's where the curve stops I'm going to come
1:10:51
out um B of A half an inch and go a
1:10:56
straight line I'm gonna come over here and just GNA get a another straight
1:11:03
line don't cut your finger okay so now we've got a this is
1:11:09
like a square uh panel
1:11:14
um let's see
1:11:22
here I don't know why I just did that stick my hand right into the
1:11:36
adhesive okay I'll clean that up in a minute so
1:11:42
right here with these uh so one thing I forgot about let's make some marker
1:11:50
marks where our holes are with the
1:11:57
Arrow once we cover this it's going to be hard to
1:12:03
find where that hole
1:12:11
is this one's going to be
1:12:22
tough
1:12:47
okay now we can actually get the let's get the fun part here we
1:12:52
go
1:13:00
so we're going to pull up and
1:13:12
over and then over here on these edges we need to get this e excess out of our
1:13:19
way so we're going to need to cut and just and just remove that extra
1:13:26
material that way we can work on this curve over
1:13:48
here okay coming in and we only need we don't need this much FB fabric so what
1:13:54
you need to do and you'll feel like a pro when you do this is just come and just cut and leave an
1:14:13
inch just leave an inch overhang and see now you got that nice nice Edge now
1:14:20
we've also taken this and notice how I'm not going straight I'm pulling and going at an angle because I'm coming around the
1:14:28
curve here so now I can take this and we're always starting we're pulling up in the
1:14:35
middle kind of locking that middle in and then we're just coming around and always using
1:14:40
Force just to bring it around the
1:14:47
outside now you can leave this you don't have to do that um I actually made stop
1:14:53
doing this but we've came around this corner
1:14:58
so now we need we need room for this to actually touch the wood so it'll adhere
1:15:05
to the wood so we need to give it some room so again about a quarter of an inch
1:15:11
in we're going to remove
1:15:18
this and so this one around the curve what we want to do is we're going to go
1:15:24
back a quart of an inch and we're just going to start to make some uh I was like some
1:15:36
spokes just like that and let's start from the
1:15:43
middle and let's just pull this
1:15:52
in
1:16:16
you don't want to cut so close to the wood that if you pull it over you have like a seam where you can see wood on
1:16:22
the other side um but see now how we have this mess here so don't worry it's all good
1:16:30
CU we're going to come here on this inside let's just follow our
1:16:45
curve then we just come back just going to take
1:16:52
off all this
1:17:02
excess and then same thing here we need
1:17:08
to cut this even we're going to pull this up come
1:17:21
in and always keep that pressure keep it
1:17:27
tight and just come
1:17:33
back clean out the
1:17:43
excess now these inside Corners um even for me are just a little bit
1:17:52
challenging it's more because I want it to be uh essentially perfect but I'm going to
1:17:58
take this and when I anywhere I fold over and I know I need some room for the other piece I'm going to come back and
1:18:06
take away some area from the other one so now we pull this
1:18:15
in just like that now you don't want to overlap these too much because in
1:18:20
certain situations it won't land flat against whatever you're working
1:18:25
on um so here we've got a corner just kind of
1:18:30
work it like that and then we're going
1:18:36
to do this let cut this
1:18:43
off and so then we're going to pull this
1:18:49
in and you'll kind of get the hang of it the more more and more you work with
1:19:00
this now these inside Corners uh they're very
1:19:10
tricky so we're going to do the easy part
1:19:20
first and then this end side you want to take your thumb and push really hard and
1:19:27
really get that to lap over so Pro tip is if these edges right
1:19:34
here that you you couldn't bend in don't cover or don't uh cover up what needs to
1:19:40
be covered up you can steal a piece of
1:19:45
fabric uh that you did cut out so get a 90° Cor
1:19:53
corner and then you can just take it and then take that 90° and then stick
1:19:59
it right here just like that and you can take the other
1:20:06
piece and stick it there and then that way that'll clean up
1:20:12
nobody's going to see this this is underneath the latch but I kind of have a Steve job's way of I want to make sure
1:20:19
that the inside looks as good as the outside
1:20:28
okay we got this one again this one's challenging so you just kind of have
1:20:34
to just work with it move it
1:20:42
around and you're always making sure you're clearing a path for the next piece that you're going to fold
1:20:48
over and obviously you can take this turn it around and put it somewhere that
1:20:53
you can work with it easy so we're almost done so stay to the end
1:21:00
because uh it's going to look nice when we we finish
1:21:05
this all right so let's pull this up sure you get good
1:21:21
pressure
1:22:03
yeah then when you just do these insides just know that you know I have an issue with them as
1:22:21
well
1:22:36
you're just going to work in this around these Ed these corners and if they kind of fold up on
1:22:41
top of themselves it's not the end of the world um just if they do that all you got to
1:22:48
do is just take a razor and cut off that whatever part is it's uh sticking up too
1:22:58
much um I usually do this with a pair of scissors but I don't know where they're in the shop right
1:23:04
now you need like a really sharp pair of scissors all right this middle
1:23:17
piece and we're going to do a little technique where we add that little extra piece right
1:23:30
there let me Zoom the camera in I think that way you guys can actually see what I'm
1:23:37
doing this is the hard part these are the hard parts right
1:23:51
here
1:24:06
okay so I've cut it this way and this way so see how this is a this panel
1:24:11
right here it's flush like that so I pull it
1:24:17
over and if you do the adhesive right I mean it it locks in like see look at
1:24:23
that the adhesive is so good that I'm actually ripping off pieces of wood when
1:24:30
I'm pulling off that
1:24:37
excess so let me cut this off so for example I have a square here that um and
1:24:44
this is just teaching you guys you know I would normally not worry about that because it's covered on each side but
1:24:50
this is just teaching you guys you can take that scrap
1:24:55
piece and then you can just put it stuff it right in
1:25:02
there and see it's it's so tacky I can I almost can't take the fabric back
1:25:09
off but this part right here we got a straight line over
1:25:15
here okay and then over here we're going to find out where the curve ends and
1:25:20
then we're going to make another straight line okay so then we're going to take this flap pull up pressure and then just pull
1:25:28
it in okay and then clean it
1:25:45
up and so this see how we have this mess just cut about a/
1:25:51
inch and then what we're going to do uh see if you can see this so we're g to
1:25:58
take this and we're just going to push it around the edge first okay so now our
1:26:04
Edge is our Edge is good the edge is good because that's what you're going to see this next part you don't see this so
1:26:11
however this smooshes up on the other side is fine
1:26:21
okay so again we got this
1:26:28
weird weird stuff going on here so all we're wanting to do is
1:26:34
find where we can do a the flattest
1:26:39
uh panel to come over so we're just going to take
1:26:45
this and then I'm going to lock it in down here and then just kind of twist
1:26:51
the fabric fabric as I come over pull the
1:26:57
middle and when you pull the middle it you can move you can
1:27:05
manipulate the fabric a little bit and then just take that
1:27:11
off so again let's always do easy stuff first so this
1:27:19
one follow the curve oh you can't see it hold on
1:27:25
so follow the curve where the curve stops straight line so now you got a
1:27:31
panel so pull that up over hit that tension so you don't get
1:27:38
like a little bubble underneath
1:27:48
here okay then you come back to this hard part and we're just going to use our
1:27:54
thumb get that locked in cut off our excess and we got enough
1:28:01
carpet here we don't need to add any
1:28:06
but if we wanted to we just kind of match what it looks
1:28:21
like let's fill it in same thing here so we've
1:28:30
got this so remember what we're going to do we're going to make a where the circle the curve ends
1:28:38
straight line or the curve begins straight line so now we have this little
1:28:43
panel so just bring it in and lock it down we might even just
1:28:50
leave that come over here about a half inch just get that junk out of the
1:28:56
way and then just roll this up with your
1:29:02
thumb and do the center first and then the
1:29:07
outsides and then yes I don't have the scissors but this is where you would shave the top
1:29:14
off with a pair of scissors then last but not least we're on the final
1:29:19
stretch straight line straight line pull this
1:29:27
up lock it in half
1:29:36
inch middle thumb underneath push
1:29:43
in all the way out let's get a couple of triangles
1:29:50
here
1:29:57
again what I'm doing here is not necessary just to show you how to
1:30:02
fix something if you did mess up okay so now our panel's done we get to reveal
1:30:09
see the how good it looks on the other side we drew all of our
1:30:17
arrows and when we we're making a mental note that our hole is here but it's also
1:30:24
actually move the camera there we go come on
1:30:34
back okay so we know where our screw holes
1:30:39
are and we're going to start the screw in the back where the hole is we'll come through the other side and then we'll find our hole and then go back through
1:30:46
and we want to pre-drill all these before we put it back on our panel in the van that where we can locate it
1:30:52
but let's see if we did a good job so here is our
1:31:02
panel you guys can see we've got a really good edge around the whole entire
1:31:12
piece our lines are nice and
1:31:18
vertical and so we've completed
1:31:28
we got our wall panel completed so now all we got to do is uh
1:31:35
find our drill holes and then we'll put this in the van but this getting this panel finished to this part that was the
1:31:42
video today so if you guys have any questions you guys can uh put those in the
1:31:50
chat and and uh real quickly wanted to talk about the DIY van build cheat sheet so if you guys have not seen the DIY van
1:31:57
build cheat sheet this is what it looks like so this cheat sheet is essentially
1:32:03
an Excel document so here's the Excel document that you're going to get cargo
1:32:10
electrical Fasteners the Fasteners are the stuff I use on 820 then we've got the
1:32:18
hardware uh brackets socker head caps screws stuff like that that I use hbac is stuff like the max fan we've got
1:32:26
insulation onboard air like an ARB compressor uh Roofing so scan strut
1:32:33
these are the Seals I like to use in the roof when we're doing uh technical stuff
1:32:39
so this round one if let's see if it'll actually pop
1:32:47
up come on pop up okay it's not going to do it it um we got a lot of reny
1:32:53
accessories mounting brackets solar panels themselves Branch adapters and Y connectors that you need to help you uh
1:33:01
my favorite part about this is the tools so if you guys are doing PEX a
1:33:07
uh crimps if you guys are doing uh Riv nuts or plus nut there there's a
1:33:15
hydraulic adapters and all kinds of stuff to help you get it that in the van there's also a hydraulic crimping look
1:33:21
tool for anywhere from six gauge to 4 o cable and that's that's also in a kit
1:33:29
with a bunch of dyes so you can do multiple sizes of wires um and then we even got water
1:33:35
systems coming down to water pumps and one of the water pumps that I really like to recommend so all you got to do
1:33:42
to get this sheet is your name and email address click download now go straight to your inbox it's completely free so
1:33:49
it's just there to help you guys out it's all the purchases I've done on Amazon the last three years for the shop
1:33:54
I think it'll really help you guys out link is in the description below you can also go to Van Builder hq.com and I
1:34:01
suggest that you take a look at Van Builder hq.com we have a ton of articles for you guys to check out so vilder
1:34:09
hq.com click on the blog and we've got all kinds of stuff from DIY Power
1:34:15
Systems countertop ideas Floors floor installs best heater guide um true cost
1:34:22
of a camper van conversion how much solar you need ton of stuff on here so check that
1:34:28
out last but not least want to talk about Odyssey custom vans which is my custom van building business the one
1:34:35
that we're actually doing the upholstery for today on the rear panels uh the van that we're working on
1:34:42
this is a different different one uh we took it to the adventure event Expo in Chattanooga Tennessee so there
1:34:48
is a uh video walkthrough of this build this is one earlier that I was so
1:34:53
interest in about the kitchen galys in so both of these Kitchen gys in this van
1:34:58
are Flatline vanco um other than it being a adventure
1:35:04
van it's fully loaded so it's got the 3.5 L Ecoboost V6 which is the
1:35:09
turbocharged V6 engine it's a high roof 148 in even has the limited slip
1:35:15
differential um option it's got 600 amp hours of R
1:35:20
Renegy smart lithium so that's their new smart lithium system it's combined with a Renegy
1:35:26
M1 uh which is their new Rigo system it's an off-grid system that's an
1:35:32
all-in-one you have one cool display that takes care of all the Bluetooth connections from your inverter charger
1:35:38
your DC todc and mppt solar charge controllers uh good to see all the uh
1:35:45
you the powers the status of the batteries cell voltages I mean you can really nerd out on that system
1:35:52
we've got a dtic RTX 2012 volt AC rooftop unit for heat we've got the
1:35:58
wabaso airtop Evo 40 that automatically adjusts to the altitude depending on where you're at and it's connected
1:36:04
directly to the Ford auxiliary fuel port on the Ford tank so you don't have an external tank you're always worried
1:36:10
about topping off or filling up it's got scopa drivers for the uh swivels for the
1:36:16
driver and passenger it's got a fredman flip and fold seat I'm going to show you a picture of that in a second it's
1:36:22
complet it's very cool uh Reva stainless sink everybody's favorite isotherm Cruise 130 huge fridge
1:36:30
12vt fridge and we maxed out the water we've got 40 gallons of freshwater
1:36:36
capacity now you don't have to use all that you can fill it up halfway but if you want to go on that long trip there's
1:36:41
very few vans that give you 40 gallons of freshwater
1:36:47
capacity we've got seven gallons upgraded upgradeable to 14 G gallons in the kitchen
1:36:52
Galley uh 4 gallon Bosch hot water tank it's a residential style and then we've got 16gal Northwest
1:37:01
conversion graywater tank specifically dedicated to the hidden Tetra van
1:37:08
shower um so we'll show you that in just a second so here's a couple photos of the
1:37:14
build got a uh here is the iso Cruise 130 fridge
1:37:22
uh down here we've got the Tetra Tetra van hidden inflor shower pan it does
1:37:28
come with shower curtain and everything you're going to need uh this is a picture when we had it with wood uh it
1:37:35
has been coated with a lawn seal material that matches the floor so you really it's almost impossible to
1:37:43
see uh anybody that was concerned about a big step up lip uh somebody had asked
1:37:48
me about that this lip is only about eighth of an inch high so you don't have to worry about tripping over it or
1:37:54
anything like that it's nice Low Pro in the back this is uh the back is being
1:38:01
completed with the panels so they're open right now you can see the 40-gallon tank on the left we've got the pullout
1:38:08
uh Flatline vanco drawer slide tray 420 watts of solar on the
1:38:17
Roof then here is that Renegy M1 control
1:38:23
really nice uh we also have the Webasto 3.0
1:38:28
Bluetooth controller so if you want to turn on your heater uh on that cold night on that cold morning when you're
1:38:34
get ready to get a cup of coffee before you get out of bed turn on the heat right from your phone we've got Flatline
1:38:40
vanco overhead cabinets with the bamboo doors which are awesome look really
1:38:47
nice and then we've got a overhead shelf from more storage we've got Lagoon table
1:38:54
mounts we've got that awesome 41 in Bamboo Kitchen Galley from Flatline
1:39:00
vanco and you also have a this one is a 24 in that houses the isoim cruise
1:39:06
130 and in front of that is the fredman flip and fold seat so when you don't need extra passengers it flips out of
1:39:13
the way get that space back in the van flips down when you need
1:39:19
it no M uh doedic RTX 2000 what else do we got in
1:39:24
here then we'll finish off the outside with a rigid Industries Amber scene light I think it's better than the white
1:39:31
one uh I think the Amber is just a little bit more calm and then we have a manual f45 fyama f45s
1:39:40
awning and last but not least in this first picture we installed the Raptor
1:39:45
Style Grill and this is from the transit Trail Euro model so this this is the
1:39:51
European style Grill um that is uh different it looks just like the Raptor
1:39:57
uh really cool upgrade if you guys are interested in
