1:33
thank you hey everyone welcome to the next part of the live stream tonight we're going to
1:39
work a little bit on the wiring so what we're going to do is uh this
1:46
kind of part two for the day we did a live stream about an hour ago and we were talking about this
1:53
so we talked about what we did earlier which was we cut a path
1:59
into the foam right here so we needed to the rear of the van is was just not able
2:06
to hold the amount of wires we needed and we've we lost both of our additional
2:12
pass that we could have used one because right here this is where the shower pan goes in the
2:18
van and you see this van seam right here so that is a channel that can be used
2:25
just by default to run wires underneath the van however that's the first place you can
2:30
go we can't use that because the shower pan is going there the next place that you can go is right
2:38
about I think it's right about right here challenge with that is we have the
2:43
heater in the pathway right there so we decided
2:49
um I'm sorry not the heater we had this the end of the pull out drawer it was
2:58
perfectly where the pull out drawer bolts ended was right where our next opportunity to
3:05
have a under the floor path for wires was so couldn't use that one
3:10
so we use the rear of the van and the rear of the van was able to take care of all of our control wires for our wabasto
3:18
heater our victron battery management um
3:24
and our renergy one system so all those communication wires went
3:30
there so if you run out of room you gotta cut
3:35
into the foam that's what we did I thought since um you guys are doing
3:41
your own van or if you're watching this and you are doing your own van uh this is a perfect opportunity to show
3:48
you that even though you got a plan you got everything laid out um there's just one part that you're
3:54
going to need to modify and it's okay it's okay to cut through something that you already had pre-planned because I'm
4:01
doing it right now so I just want to show you this is live we've been doing this every single night sometimes two times a night
4:08
so you guys you get to see things how they they come up and so this is this is
4:13
real van building right here we needed to make arrangements to add four more wires
4:18
and we're doing that right here tomorrow I've got to go to the store and
4:25
I've got to pick up two wires that I do not have with me tonight so this is a 14
4:30
gauge wire with the the receptacle built on the end of it
4:39
we talked within the past live stream that receptacle with n is going to be
4:45
used for our water heater and for the flex space area which can
4:50
either hold like a microwave or be used as the power if you want to do an built-in induction stove
4:59
the other two items that we're going to be doing are these pop-up I'm going to
5:04
pull them up here from Amazon and I just got these I've been looking
5:10
around uh pretty extensively for these pop-up Outlets
5:16
if you okay let's go look at a computer and let me try to
5:21
get this on my face just a little bit there we go
5:27
so if we look on the computer this is the outlet that I'm talking about and for some reason oh so I'm gonna
5:34
change my there we go
5:40
so this one is a great price 45 bucks some might say this is high but check
5:45
this out if we go to uh let's see here
5:51
if you go to pop-up floor outlet box and let me go back here if we search for
5:58
this
6:22
if you type in water resistant box which is what I was trying to go for
6:29
you there's this one and it's 305 dollars for this pop-up
6:36
electrical box um which is pretty crazy
6:42
uh so this is waterproof but I wanted something that was you know water resistant because we're not going to
6:48
have something like a complete downpour on it and that is where I sell these on Amazon
6:56
so I didn't get this brand I got a different brand
7:03
because I don't like how this is kind of like an oval shaped I wanted more of a square shape
7:08
so this one let's see here
7:19
so I went with that one that I just showed you where'd it go
7:25
this one so this one's nice it's got square angles it's nickel finish
7:30
it's got a nice circular button it doesn't have like a little plastic one even though it's a weird name brand
7:36
everything else looks really good this is typically used for like kitchen
7:41
counters so it does have a foam gasket right there
7:48
and I think it'll be suitable for I want to have it as the top of the kitchen Galley so that you can pop this up you
7:55
can put your induction stove stuff like that and you can use this there and then also
8:02
you can use it for the outside of the van and the way I'm going to mount it is
8:08
it'll be facing down that way when you pop it out it'll have like a little hood and that'll protect it from you know
8:15
like say it's just misting outside and you're trying to you know unplug everything before you get back in the van it would be protected
8:23
what was really cool is I'm getting the one that's 15 amp with a USB outlet
8:32
um I did not want it to be tamper resistant but I think the options only allow you
8:37
to do 15 amp USB or the uh so I went with the USB outlet
8:42
so that you could you know run the induction stove charger phone at the same time so there's two of these in the
8:48
van so we've got our two receptacle plugs plugins built in which is it's
8:55
essentially an extension cord that's for the water heater and the microwave
9:01
location or the flex space I'm calling it and then we're going to have two of these
9:06
boxes one on top of the kitchen Galley one outside at the bottom like the foot
9:13
foot step in the for the van okay so I got those two coming on the
9:19
way some other stuff that is electrical that is electrical item
9:29
I'm stumbling to my words the working on this really trying to stick to this timeline has just worn me out so I
9:36
appreciate everybody that's uh sticking with me on the live stream all the nice comments support I need I
9:42
need all of it um
9:48
let's see here there's a couple other things
9:57
yeah let me take my orders
10:04
uh the next thing I got is I went in since we're talking about electrical cables I know this is not electrical
10:09
cable but I got these one foot cables for the renergy smart batteries
10:15
so there's a link output port and we're going to need to link each battery together so that's how they all
10:21
talk to each other and then there's one main Uplink that goes to the uh
10:28
this will go to the main hub and then that will allow us to uh
10:35
communicate with the the main renergy one system
10:42
there's really not a lot of information about the the smart batteries so hopefully I can do a tutorial and help
10:47
you guys out but I've ordered a bunch of one foot cables and then a two foot cable for the renergy Hub
10:55
and then we got a couple other things here um we are going to try a solar panel that I
11:01
haven't tried before but I think it's got excellent ratings
11:08
I have heard a couple of channels talk about new power with a
11:14
this panel is going to perfectly fit between the max fan and the Dometic RTX
11:21
2000 AC unit it is very challenging to find a solar panel
11:26
that can maximize the real estate on the roof
11:32
that is not a 100 watt panel because two 100 won't fit that so this
11:39
is perfect it's 220 Watts so when we get finished with this
11:45
project up there where this stuff comes in we will have 420 Watts we're doing
11:50
two 100 watt renergy panels and the front they're going to be
11:56
flanking the uh to the left and the right of the max Fin and then the behind the max fan and in
12:02
between the Dometic is going to be this uh 220 watt panel and the specific dimensions which are
12:09
perfect 56.69 inches wide I guess tall technically and then 30
12:17
inches wide so our Dimensions we have 58 inches wide
12:23
that's how much room we have to work with and then we have 32 inches I'm sorry 58 inches tall 32 inches wide
12:31
so this is going to be excellent
12:37
and I think that is about it for our electrical stuff now we're just going to dive right into this video get working
12:44
here
12:52
all right let's do it so come on into the van actually we are
12:59
going to work on uh we're pulling wire essentially so
13:05
let's go back to this let's go back to this photo real quick
13:22
all right so let's talk about this photo this is what we did in the previous video so we cut this
13:30
so I just talked about that and now what we're going to do is we're going to start pulling wire
13:35
we're going to do the RTX 2000 wire pull because I've already got that set up
13:41
I'll talk to you about that we're going to do the um two 120 volt pools for that the wire
13:51
that we have and then we'll see if we have time to do the ones for the USB ports
13:57
and if you guys had any questions you know make sure you put those in the comments below and I'll be happy to
14:03
answer them but let's go ahead since we are let's see here
14:09
get the camera going we're going to back up a little bit so if you guys have ever used uh fishing
14:16
wire or fishing cable to fish something through
14:24
that's what we're using right now fish tape hahaha oh man
14:31
let me tell that I am sleep to private this moment
14:38
okay so let's change our lighting really quick there we go
14:45
okay so this is the cable that comes with the Dometic RTX 2000
14:52
so if you have the 12 volt you're going to have this thicker one if you have the 24 if you're running off of 24 volts
14:57
there's a different cable it's much skinnier at the top of this cable I was able to
15:04
there's a special connector
15:15
so it looks like this right here
15:22
and so you can depress both pins the pin here and a pin here on the inside
15:27
you can use like a piece of wire or some tool this is the tool that I used just like a
15:34
little Precision screwdriver and I depressed the pins in here
15:39
and then it un clicked it and came out this uh so the challenge that I'm running with right now is I'm trying to
15:47
get um I think my challenges are definitely
15:54
going to benefit you guys if you're in a DIY build because the eventual acting is actually making
16:00
it very challenging to wire anything over the roof I have very little space
16:06
to run the wires because of the A-frame structure that's riveted in the van
16:11
the second issue is by the way I love Adventure wagon and I would I'm going to
16:16
continue to to use this as much as I can but now that I know all of these when you rivet the yellow
16:25
steel pieces into the van you close up a lot of access holes in the van
16:30
especially in the back there's there's one big opening here and one big opening here for the door hinges
16:37
not the door hinges what is that for
16:44
it's an opening these two openings right here you have access to run and pull
16:50
wire just as you do in the top so when you rivet these still pieces in
16:56
they blank those off and they cut them off and they also cut off ones here so you're kind of limited to now where
17:03
you can run wire that's why we're doing everything in the floor
17:09
now if you want to do you know like a one or two USB wire runs
17:15
okay you can probably do that because the the channels right here that are
17:21
upholstered they're at such an angle to where they have about a half inch by half inch opening and you can run wire
17:27
behind here uh it's actually a good thing because then you have accessibility if you wanted to pull that
17:33
off do maintenance maybe replace or pull something else so with that being said I attempted to
17:41
take this cable and it's thin enough to go behind that
17:47
piece of here I'll just get a piece
17:54
so this is the upholstered panel and so all this does
18:00
as it goes in place right here so it cleans all that
18:06
up the channel right there as you guys can see this part right here
18:13
the van actually goes here and kind of goes up so this is there's a void right
18:19
here about half inch by half inch void so I attempted to put the wire in there
18:25
and zip tie it and it would not allow me to actually come in and close in this back section
18:32
that's where the L truck goes and l-track holds all these panels in place so if you can't get it in place and have
18:38
the L truck to hold it then you have to think of something else so I went to plan B
18:47
Plan B is we are taking uh
18:53
our fish tape and we are going to pull the medic RTX 2000 wire
19:01
down through the van there's a lot of sharp corners
19:07
so they actually Supply you with this material
19:15
and I know we get into Dometic RTX 2000 territory as far as install goes don't worry we're
19:22
going to cover that in depth in its own video and you may feel that we are drifting
19:28
from the floor but what's happening is the electrical and the floor are meeting
19:34
in real time as the floors going in it's creating issues with the uh the wiring because
19:43
um of what we have going on and uh
19:48
the idea that we could do a lot of stuff in the walls and
19:53
now that's not so much and the fact that our shower pan
19:59
are pull out drawer slide and the back of our van have all been taken up
20:05
and we can't use that space to uh run wire so what we're going to do right now is
20:11
we already have our fish tape right here it's going up through the van
20:17
and up through this cavity and it's actually pretty easy you just
20:22
put it straight up through there and just keep moving it around if you have somebody to help you it's easy
20:28
because you don't have to stretch down but then you basically just get the tape uh it comes out here and then you're
20:34
ready to wrap it so what we're going to do is we're going to take this and I'm going to get some
20:41
electrical tape and I hope I have some of this drawer
20:47
because I did not plan on actually
20:53
planning on doing the floor but the electrical is saying it needs
20:59
help right now so let me get some electrical tape and then we're going to go ahead and wrap it
21:05
with the wire loom tape it up and we're going to attempt to
21:11
pull it through the van um actually I just went by
21:18
another piece of wire loom that may fit it that's smaller
21:24
so I think I'm going to try that all right don't go anywhere I'm going to be right
21:31
back I'm just grabbing some electrical tape
21:38
that's over here hopefully
21:46
rotate all right
22:06
okay we're gonna use uh I'm gonna get some green tape
22:21
all right so I found another in my electrical drawer I found some more wire
22:26
loom this is what they give you from
22:32
to medic this is what I have so
22:41
you see the size difference so I'm gonna try
22:47
oh yeah this is way better yeah the one Dometic gives you is is not
22:53
is too big that would not work because the hole that you have to put it
22:58
through is you don't really get that much room okay let's
23:06
see here so we're just going to start up here
23:14
and we can slide this uh if we need to
23:39
see if that's gonna actually
23:48
let's just see what the Dometic looks like on here though while we're at it so they do provide it
24:03
all right I take that back it's going to provide more protection and it crimps down so we're okay
24:09
so let's go ahead and just put this on [Applause] and we're gonna get ready to fish it through the van
24:16
[Applause]
24:31
now this doesn't have to be in the exact location that you need it right now if you've never used wire loom you can
24:37
slide it so you can I can slide it up and down
24:44
the wire that's going through the hole first if something happens to it it's okay
24:52
but the wire that's being covered up is the wire [Applause]
24:57
you don't want to mess up
25:03
is they give you a ton they give you a ton of wire way way more than we need
25:17
thank you
25:40
foreign
25:52
and then what we're going to do is when we get finished we're putting it on here I'm going to tape it at one end
25:58
and so that way it doesn't slide off
26:20
the method I'm using is if you take it and you kind of push it like that it'll open itself up
26:34
in a perfect world this small wire will be on the opposite side of the seam but it this thing keeps turning on me
26:42
thank you
26:58
[Applause]
27:26
all right that was fun okay so we have this here
27:32
and that looks pretty good so since we have so much extra
27:40
let's actually bring this up before we finalize it because this up
27:46
here is actually pretty abrasive
27:56
[Applause]
28:04
I'm not sure if we're gonna smush this in here
28:20
okay I'm gonna have to do something else up there so I'm gonna find another way to protect the wire I have some felt
28:28
uh some Automotive felt that goes around the wire and that should keep it protected it's a very thick wire so
28:35
[Applause]
28:43
uh how much actually I'm gonna try let's try to get this up here if I can
29:09
[Applause]
29:15
foreign [Applause]
29:30
so this part is difficult because you actually have to push up on the roof
29:35
in order to squeeze this past
29:50
[Applause] we're sake of the live stream I'm gonna work on that off camera
29:56
let's go ahead and pull this wire down
30:05
so you see they give you tons of cable so first thing we did is we taped the
30:10
ends of the wire here so they don't catch on anything and then we're further going to tape
30:15
this to our fish tape which is essentially a steel wire
30:21
that comes out of the wall and then we want to wrap the wire a
30:27
bunch of times around here not the wire we want to tape them together
30:33
really well so we can make them one and then we can just pull them straight to the wall
30:42
it's going to be interesting this is the first time I will have done this without electrical tape I have no idea
30:49
why I ran out in my electrical box but
30:56
yeah we'll definitely need some more for electrical tape for when we get to wiring this stuff for
31:02
real okay
31:10
and then you just kind of want to make it like a little nose on the end of it so it just kind of goes down smoothly
31:15
but who knows green tape might actually work so we're going to take it and we're
31:20
going to start feeding it through our hole
31:26
and then we'll take our tape at the bottom and that's what we're going to actually
31:32
use to pull the wire through the van and I'm kind of just using gently using
31:39
my foot to get it started since I'm so low here
31:45
and you want to feed it more through the top then you're kind of like pulling down through the bottom
31:51
um and then when it starts coming in you can start taking up your Slack
31:58
on the fish tape and I've done this much Benny time so
32:03
if this looks like I did it really easy is because I don't know I've installed a lot of
32:10
flat screen TVs
32:15
so that's it so now the wire is through the wall [Music] and the challenging part now is now we
32:24
got to see will our protected wire actually make it through
32:32
the good news is I'm not seeing any gouges in The Wire
32:37
uh as I look at the wrong wire
32:43
on there you guys it is it's late a little bit
32:48
nothing nothing there's not that bad
32:56
all right here we go before we do that let's make sure we tape this end
33:07
and green tape will be okay
33:13
we want to tape this end shut and it's doing the same purpose as our fish tape
33:19
where we want to make a little nose on it so it doesn't get caught and pulled off
33:25
so there we go all right
33:31
and this is going to come through the wall completely so we have plenty of cable to work with
33:36
all right let's see how well this works can we make it through the hole
33:44
it's very tight here [Applause]
33:50
all right answer is yes [Applause]
33:56
but just barely
34:11
okay actually I need my Slack
34:18
too far down there we go all right
34:30
all right easy right
34:40
because if you guys know me this top thing is bothering the heck out of me
34:50
Adventure wagon you can take you can unbolt this and take it out the problem is I've
34:57
already preset where it's supposed to be tight
35:02
and I have to take this whole entire l-track out and the A-frame member here
35:07
just to loosen it enough to get it down to get the wire through so
35:15
I think if I
35:21
we're gonna leave that for a different time we're going to leave that until we do the AC all right so we got our we got this up
35:29
here so let's just call it a win for our AC line
35:36
I'm going to take a couple of zip ties and we're just going to hold this back just so it doesn't flop around while we're working on other things in the van
35:51
but the good news is if you want to put your Dometic RTX 2000 power wire
35:57
through the wall um you can
36:03
there's enough room and the stuff that they give you to do it with
36:10
you'll be okay all right and that'll be another challenge to see how well this actually
36:15
fits up here because there's a panel that goes up here uh and then the other fun thing we'll
36:22
have to start dealing with is this section
36:28
we're going to need to figure out how to upholster it because the kit only allows us to cover
36:36
the Ford factory wire it doesn't it's not made for it's not designed to
36:42
handle this big bulge right here but it's okay we will
36:48
take care of that when we need to um the convenient thing is this cable is going to go bam right here
36:55
to its the power system uh it's the shortest run you could ask for
37:01
you know all of this cable right here is going to be unnecessary not used so we can cut it off we're not going to
37:08
do it now but we'll do it later so I'm going to
37:16
I'm just gonna leave all this right here and we're gonna Zoom the camera in
37:23
we're going to come to our next part where we need to uh
37:28
we're going to pull some USB wire not USB wire the power wire we're going
37:34
to use to connect our USBS over there
37:58
all right just to show you what we did with this camera
38:04
so you guys can see this is the part of the roof I said we have the
38:10
challenge we have this cross member right here the wires by themselves will fit through it fine
38:15
but this protective jacket we put on here it's not letting it go all the way through so
38:21
what we're going to do is probably off camera I will just correct that
38:26
but the opening we used was right here so in the Ford in the adventure wagging
38:34
kit when you relocate this forward wire and you bring it it's like right here
38:39
and you have to bring it up that hole right there is the one we went through so we came through here
38:48
and we put it through this hole that shares the forward wire there's a forward wire right beside that we went
38:54
through it then we went down to this channel
39:00
and then we came out right there and so that will come out there and
39:05
we'll plug directly into our power system later we'll actually be mounting a Shore
39:10
power plug right there and yeah this is just all the steps
39:17
we need to take to start knocking this van out uh let's see if I can get this level
39:25
and locked in all right so we're going to be working right there inside the van
39:36
actually hold on we need to work
39:42
up here let me back up
39:50
sorry guys I'm trying not to make you seasick right there
39:58
we go let's fix our lighting and we'll get back to work
40:32
okay I think it looks pretty good
40:45
yep all right let's do that
40:52
okay so next up we have our we'll have our wire coming uh through the floor and over here
41:01
but there's another wire that we're going to use and we're going to take we're going to do one option that I
41:07
think would help you guys in your wiring progress
41:13
is utilizing the ability to feed it around the max fan
41:20
so what I've found to be very helpful to me is where this Max fin is there's a
41:27
shroud and we did this in Thomas's van so I there's a Gap a channel back here
41:33
it's about maybe an inch and a half by an inch by an inch and a half High
41:41
and we can stuff a bunch of wires but what's nice is we can access this by
41:46
taking the vent hood of the vent shroud off so if we ever need to do maintenance
41:52
we don't have to go through our floor that's going to be permanently put in we can go through and and change up these
41:58
cables so because our 2s our USB port for the overhead cabinet charging capability and
42:07
light system is up on top we're actually going to go
42:12
on top so we need to actually take this
42:18
panel off
42:26
so that we can access it
42:48
so this panel
42:54
holds this panel
42:59
okay now that gives us access to this back side here
43:10
so this is probably going to fall off that's okay all right so right now what we're doing
43:15
is we're coming through here so this Main
43:21
a piece of the van here we have a cover
43:28
just like this there's another there's another one of these that goes there and that's where
43:33
we're going to hide our cable run
43:50
so we're gonna go ahead and get we're gonna go into our 14 two wires
43:57
and I think I have one that's already off of the spool so let's use that one first
44:13
okay so 14 2 this is our thinner gauge wire
44:19
14 I believe is gauges up to 15 amps so this will provide us power
44:26
for two of our fast charging USB Outlets
44:32
it's just important to say fast charging because you need that amperage
44:38
so the circuit will uh or fuse the circuit at 10 amps
44:44
because we need that amperage to be able to charge Quick Charge devices a normal USB outlet
44:51
is going to throttle you and you know we're building a high-tech van here we
44:57
don't need to be throttled for our USB charging
45:05
and so what I'm doing is uh let me move the camera
45:10
but you guys could see that
45:29
so we're coming up through here going above our Venture wagon frame and
45:34
then we're just just stuffing it in and see it comes comes right out here where the fan is
45:42
let me get some more cable foreign
46:00
goes in there you don't have to do it but if
46:08
it'll make things easier as I wrap it around this other one
46:19
there you go
46:31
so this the USB wire up here this is the only one that's not going to be going in our floor
46:36
but since we're talking about it might as well talk about it
46:47
if you can't get the wire here you can turn it upside down like that and then put it back in
46:54
and then sometimes it'll yeah boom
47:01
you just try different tricks like that if you ever get stuck running a wire it's not going where you want it to
47:12
so this one again we're going to utilize the this wire tray that Adventure wagon has
47:19
incorporated the Ford wire harness
47:24
the four wire harness this is used for the tail lights blinkers stuff like that
47:29
cargo lights and we're going to use it as well
47:38
and if I hadn't mentioned before I'll probably repeat myself but Marine wire is what you want to use
47:44
because it's got that extra piece of rubber on the outside or sheet sheeting
48:03
yeah and that is a hassle to un get all these Kinks out of it but you want to do it
48:10
because if I need to pull this further in I don't want it wrapping and coiling up
48:15
like that when I'm doing my wire run this typically happens at the end of a roll which this is so
48:38
okay we need this one to go back there to the back so I have a panel
48:45
there's a panel right here that I took off and just so you guys know what we're doing with this
48:51
we have two uh upper cabinets so they're from Flatline vanco
48:59
and they bolt into the L track they're Adventure wagon compatible part
49:05
and they bolt into l-track but for the look of the van we have these really nice lumacoin lights we
49:12
have one two three four five six uh they are bright
49:17
they're individually controlled though and they do convert to Red for night
49:22
time so you can turn the walls are red but I like to have a little bit more
49:29
light in the van um you'll you can't believe
49:34
you can't have enough light in the vanity because that's what I'm saying so I had these two four foot LEDs that are
49:41
motion activated so when you want them on you just wave your hand underneath the upper cabinet
49:48
and they'll come on over here or if you're over here with this kitchen Galley you just wave your hand it comes
49:53
on you can hold your hand and it'll dim and then you can hold it again and it'll
49:58
go back bright and it just gives you more light over here
50:06
so that's what this is going to power so we need to make sure that this has
50:12
the ability to reach all the way over here and we need a little bit of excess so that we can
50:18
just make sure we got enough wiring here and this is where zip ties come in
50:24
don't worry this is going to be temporary and then you can uh you know cut it and then when you're
50:31
ready to do your permanent wire you can just redo it it's just really here to
50:37
hold it but we're going to make use of this uh
50:43
so right here this this is the wire tray so for the top piece we're going to use
50:49
that we're just going to kind of I'll do a couple zip ties
50:58
so I know these are probably going to be permanent holding spots for it because I've just done this before
51:08
so there we go we got that stuff it in here
51:24
then we'll do one more right here
51:37
okay so I'm happy with that that's probably
51:43
just going to be its permanent location you got plenty of slack right there to mess around with if you need to we don't
51:49
really have to go back over here and this is just going to lay down now remember to use my method of either
51:55
using a little bit of the thin kill mat to Tar kind of like a tar paper it down
52:01
or use tape um tastes not going to hurt anything but
52:07
the tape is going to help it stay put down and not rattling if you go over bumps
52:21
all right I'm going to come over here let's put another zip tie
52:28
a little hack is if you're trying to wire something take the end of the zip tie and bend it
52:33
over so it makes like an L shape and you can kind of like needle it through the uh
52:40
the holes and the sheet metal of the van and it'll help you
52:46
it'll just help you get it through the sheet metal because it's it's weird
52:53
okay so now we're getting back to
52:59
something that's more relevant to the Floor video
53:06
so over here we've got our path that we've been working on
53:15
and then we have our wire so I'm trying to see
53:38
my network cable and this other cable where we need them underneath this foam
53:44
however you need to cut some of the foam away
53:53
be very careful not with the razor because it's sharp but don't cut a wire
53:58
a hidden wire
54:05
that you've already hidden underneath the van you'll be very very
54:13
upset okay so now I think we can
54:20
there we go so now we can run the wires over here
54:28
perfect
54:37
so now that we have the floor in right now we're just doing cable management
54:43
and we're just triple checking everything because once we have the
54:48
actual floor down we're not going to be able to double check these wires
55:12
now you by no means do you have to do this how I'm doing it the only reason the wires
55:17
are like this if you guys didn't listen to the other live streams where I talked about it the
55:24
reason I'm doing this is because my priority is other components so the flip and fold seat the shower pan the bracing
55:31
for the pulled out tray uh making sure that the floor doesn't Buckle in the back
55:36
that's my priority wherever the wires need to go to make it to their home then
55:43
they're going to have to take some other path because this is it's like this area is already spoken
55:48
for type of thing so all right now we have
55:58
we got a network cable and our victron communication cable right here
56:04
so they got a place to go this is all loose because this area
56:10
right here is going to have that uh
56:16
that upholstered piece cover it so we're just keeping everything loose
56:23
and the reason I'm taking you through this detailed process is you're seeing it live we deal with problems and come
56:30
up with Solutions uh you can spend you know a thousand hours
56:37
uh on a computer with SketchUp or some engineering software and like get this
56:43
really laid out but for me it's actually more enjoyable just to do it step by step
56:50
because you know over the process I've changed my mind on the kitchen Galley placement
56:56
and taking into consideration this is a spec build so this is for the business
57:01
the shop it's not a customer's van yet but it is designed in a layout
57:07
in which um it's a lot people are looking for the additional two people to be seated the
57:15
additional cargo space the shower be able to shower inside the van
57:22
but everything else is kind of you know trial and error as far as
57:27
how to set it up and that should get you guys really excited
57:33
about your own personal build you know it does not have to be perfect in the first go
57:39
I said in the last live stream that you know these were the materials we're working with it's foam wood and glue so it's
57:47
just simple stuff so if you tear it up you can fix it it's not the end of the world
57:54
but what I'm doing right now is I need to now we need to have this uh to be able
58:01
to wire over come through and get to our
58:08
fuse panel so I think what we're going to have to do
58:21
is we're going to come through here and then make another cut out to go
58:27
across across here pretty sure that's what we're going to do
58:46
I'm going to look to see if I can come on this outside now I don't have room all right so we're just going to come
58:52
straight down here uh we're actually going to come through the middle
58:58
because there is a
59:03
there's a loop in the adventure wagon kit that is for a cargo tie down but
59:08
we're going to repurpose that as a wire run for a wire run
59:27
and be careful of the wires that you have underneath this
1:00:05
and so I did I cut like a triangle so this one I didn't actually go all the
1:00:10
way through and uh we're gonna see if that works if not we'll just cut it all the way
1:00:16
through uh but this one we just got to be extremely careful because
1:00:21
this is our our main power wires are underneath here
1:00:27
that run to our sub panel and we just need to make sure that we do not
1:00:34
Nick them
1:00:41
[Music] okay
1:00:49
so now we'll take our wire
1:00:56
I'm going to put it through our little wire run that we have down here which goes underneath our floor
1:01:02
and what's cool about locating this hole right by the kitchen Galley is you can make you can use the step to run all
1:01:09
your wires down into the step finish your floor and then take them and go up through your floor
1:01:16
so you can run your wires and put the floor in at the same time foreign
1:01:30
[Applause]
1:01:45
stuff up and out of the way until we get to uh
1:01:51
let's get the panels and stuff on
1:02:07
what's nice is Adventure wagon has a complete upholstered panel and we'll be able to mock up where we have these
1:02:14
openings on the back and then we'll know where to actually locate all of our our cables the renergy one screen
1:02:21
and other components
1:02:40
foreign
1:02:48
and give yourself a bunch of slack as you go up just in case you have to move it through
1:02:54
uh or change it up so we're going to leave it just like that
1:03:01
um let me bring it right down through here
1:03:10
and then we're just going to leave this slack down here there's not much of the wire left
1:03:34
do you guys kind of here can I hear all that squeaking that's why we want to use tape now this
1:03:40
is again
1:03:46
we're uh just doing this temporary to hold it hold it back do you you do want to have some type of
1:03:52
uh something to hold it and keep it from moving around whether that's like a felt lined Automotive like wire wrap or
1:03:59
something just so it doesn't has the potential for noise okay the USB for the that side is
1:04:07
finished um we may run another USB here
1:04:13
but we're gonna see how are we doing on live stream so far
1:04:43
so the last part I'll do is we're getting it's getting pretty
1:04:48
late here we're just going to talk about the uh 12 3 wire
1:04:55
foreign I'm going to show you where it's going
1:05:01
to go and silver here
1:05:15
so we're going to take this wire now remember we need two of these and then we're going to do two 14 gauge
1:05:22
wires and we're going to run them uh so two of The Twelve to three
1:05:30
those two will go to our pop-up Outlets and then the other two 14 gauge one's
1:05:37
going to go to our hot water heater and then one the other one's going to go to our
1:05:43
auxiliary plug and the flex space of the kitchen galley
1:05:50
so now that we have this wear out we can make sure that you know
1:05:56
we can fit you know two in the floor here and it looks like we can
1:06:03
so I'm just going to put this here a lot of extra room
1:06:11
we'll come back behind the heater come around here
1:06:19
and then we're just going to make sure we laid this down flat we'll make the decision uh
1:06:27
next week if uh well tomorrow if we're going to put some wire loom
1:06:32
around it if we do it'll be this so we'll take we'll take this that we
1:06:38
didn't use and yep so we're going to be using this
1:06:43
we'll put both of the flat 12 3 and then we'll put the 14 to 14
1:06:48
gauge and this we'll put it down we'll wrap it in felt around the outside not all the way just
1:06:54
so it doesn't move around this will protect it from the shower pan tray as well as any abrasion and we'll
1:07:02
be good to go so this will just come around here
1:07:07
and then what this will do is this will also come up through this hole here
1:07:14
and serve our electrical boxes uh so that part's gonna get really exciting so once
1:07:20
the floor is kind of the boring part once we get all this wired and put in here when should we get the kitchen
1:07:25
galleys in and we actually started hooking up the electrical component it's going to get really it'll be really fun to uh
1:07:31
to see this thing uh kind of take shape but yeah that's what we're gonna do I'm
1:07:37
gonna stop this for tonight and um we'll pick up tomorrow
1:07:44
with uh finishing up this wiring so what I'll do is I'm going to finish the wiring
1:07:51
ahead of the live stream get everything tidied up in the floor because I got to go to Lowe's and get two more wires
1:07:57
I'll get that checked off I'll get everything wrapped wire wrapped ready to go uh the floor all cleaned up
1:08:06
and then these panels have to be painted they need to paint be painted dried
1:08:14
and as soon as they're dry we can uh glue them down
1:08:20
then we'll do that overnight and then even though we wanted to do the lawn seal tomorrow that's probably going
1:08:26
to look Tuesday looks looks like we're gonna be doing that Tuesday
1:08:33
so yeah if you guys have made it this long into The Stream I really appreciate it I want to thank everybody for
1:08:39
watching I want to let you guys know to make sure that you are subscribe to the channel
1:08:46
that if you have any questions you can man that is so bright
1:08:52
it's so bright and if you have any questions uh put
1:08:58
those in the comments and I'll answer them as best I can
1:09:04
um also if you haven't check out the DIY van build cheat sheet link is in the description below
1:09:10
uh and um yeah it is late so
1:09:15
appreciate everybody watching keep keep uh keep checking out the live streams we're gonna get this band done
1:09:22
and it's gonna be really exciting so until then we'll see you guys in the next live stream
