0:09
all right guys we're headed to peace love and vans in Dade City Florida so it's going to take us 9 hours to get
0:15
there and uh we're heading out right now we got the uh Transit all loaded
0:23
up and uh the rental is real nice too it's a brand new
0:35
Duramax so it's going to be much easier than uh the adventure van Expo that
0:40
truck was a little underpowered for a uh 2500 so yeah pretty excited so we're
0:47
going to go ahead and start the journey um we're going down to Charlotte to go by and pick up Jamie he's going to join
0:54
us for the show this weekend and uh yeah can't wait to see you guys there let's
1:01
hit the [Music] road all right guys taking a break we
1:07
are right outside of Columbia South Carolina and uh making our way down to
1:13
Savannah probably our next stop man's doing good tie down everything everything's good and we are
1:20
headed back to the road so let's get on down to peace loving bands all right guys we got 5 hours and
1:27
20 minutes left until we make it to with Luchi park right outside of Dade City
1:33
Florida that was our second stop for fuel so we're making our way there and
1:44
go all right guys we ended up staying a night at the hotel to get here first thing in the morning so we are now at
1:51
with Luchi River Park p 11 Vans
1:58
2024 can't wait to get started we're going to get this trailer unloaded and uh get started with the
2:06
event all right now goes the fun part of getting this big old van off of here should be
2:19
easy hey guys welcome we at PE Vans we got the Ford Transit all set up um we've
2:25
already had people go through the van checking it out really enjoy the build um we're going to take a walk uh around
2:31
this whole entire facility I guess you would call it um all right guys we're going to hop
2:37
on a different microphone here want to uh do a little bit detail of the vendors
2:42
we've got livmore Camper vans they were there last year and they have an awesome setup um we have sight 7 behind me and
2:50
uh as you see we're going to have a lot of great vendors uh that are coming out to this event and we've got stealth
2:56
pillow over there on the right in a minute Rover Vans will actually be pulling up and I'm sure you
3:04
guys got to check out their build it looked awesome but a lot of great builds at this show and much more than we had
3:12
at previous shows so I think we had 10 last year and then this year um actually didn't count but we've got van wife
3:19
components we've got freedom van go Bringing out their Vans everything's looking great um and on my left hand
3:25
shoulder we have uh Backwoods Adventure mods so we didn't do a tour of their
3:31
Vans but they're there for the event there's a couple other van tours I do later and um we'll check them out in
3:38
just a few minutes the crew at Moxy van came out they have some really cool custom builds that they brought to the
3:45
show and new vendors too stuff that I haven't met before Defiance tools we did
3:50
a interview with them last year so if you want to check out their products you can check out the last year's show um it
3:56
was actually named Florida van lifee Gathering if you want to check out that video a lot of vendors in there we have
4:03
Scola van we also did a tour with them in that same video definitely check that out as we come up to this next vendor we
4:11
have bougie builds and we do an interview with them towards the end of this video so don't miss out on
4:18
that there this event also had this event also had great vendors as far as
4:23
products so there's a line of vendors that were selling products t-shirts uh
4:29
there's a company called Becker Supply a company selling Marina W socks um also
4:35
there was a mobile solar Consulting those guys were showing off some of their services and this area right here
4:41
was really great because the setup at the event had food trucks some tables and food and vans are a great
4:48
combination especially when you kind of Corral everything together so great job on that and the far distance you can see
4:54
nans we're going to do a video tour with them in this video as well and that van
4:59
is awesome over here on my left- hand side we've got the connected camp where we
5:06
have Shore power so if you guys want to come in and camp with Shore power uh you can actually buy tickets for that
5:13
specific area to give you a feel about how everything is set up uh everything is kind of in Lanes kind of Bumper to
5:19
Bumper but then it opens up to this really wide open area where you can put
5:24
your chairs out your Tables hang out with friends put your awning out so you definitely have a lot of space uh in the
5:31
middle of the lanes and each one of the lanes is a a different name so it's really easy to go back to your van find
5:37
your spot during the event next we're going to make our way to the main stage and that's where bands
5:44
local artists uh come out and play for everyone during the weekend a lot of
5:50
great music and I actually listened to an amazing artist it was Eugene music
5:55
and he actually has a build where he has a old FedEx van that's been converted into a stage and a mobile Sound Studio
6:03
so definitely wait to the end of this video check out that van tour coming up
6:08
we ran into Josh from Van life Outfitters one of the host of this event
6:14
and uh got to chat about how everything was going going very smooth as far as setup and load in and then over here
6:21
let's cut to the row of vans on the backhand side so these are the flags
6:27
that I was saying that each one has its own own lane so uh this is Friday but
6:32
more campers are going to come in Saturday and off to my left is where they will um be parked but these are the
6:39
flags so you got ABY Road and you can see it's extremely well organized event
6:44
everything is organized from the Golden Road all the way down and this year they
6:50
actually added some more speakers down that lane so that you could actually hear the announcements from the main stage and that made everything a lot
6:58
better as far as as uh communication goes over here we have Sunshine State
7:04
RVs so they were also a sponsor of this event and they had some really nice Vans
7:10
like this Storyteller um couple other Vans as well and I didn't get a chance
7:15
to tour them uh getting to all the other tours of the event but we're just going
7:20
to take a walk down one of these rows here because it's going to give you a really good feel for how people are
7:26
setting up their chairs um just get ready for the event to uh just have a great
7:32
weekend and you can see again very organized uh the vibe here is just super
7:39
chill very very comfortable and if you want to come and relax for a weekend be
7:45
with a lot of other like-minded van owners and campers and rvers uh this is
7:50
just a great event to go to all right guys we're rounding the corner here going by G small live large
7:58
Lane and that's Scott's uh YouTube channel if you have not checked it out go small live large Awesome YouTube
8:05
channel about the van life campers RVs he does a lot of great tours and I did a
8:11
live stream during this event on Saturday and then he did his own separate live stream so definitely go
8:16
over to his channel check that out all right guys up next are the van tours uh we found some awesome vans that I think
8:23
you guys will really enjoy one of those is a really high-end build that is uh
8:30
just from a true Craftsman and I can't wait to show it to [Music]
8:45
you hey guys I'm over here with Troy uh Danny is talking to some of the uh show
8:52
goers but uh yeah Troy and Danny of nana van and this is their amazing van build
8:59
so for me there's always one van at a show that's just like we got to do a
9:04
tour to that van so you guys are going to be really happy about this uh Troy tell us uh who you are what your company
9:11
is and then uh walk us through your van awesome yeah looking forward to it so my name is Troy Norton this is our actually
9:17
first first van this is the proof of concept that we've uh took about 6 months to build it's a 2016 Ram promas
9:24
118 wheelbase this is basically the shortest both height-wise and lengthwise that you can you can buy in the proas
9:30
models and we've tried to do everything that we possibly can to not only make it aesthetically pleasing but then add a
9:35
lot of engineering elements to it so it it gets everything that you get in some of the bigger Vans but in a smaller
9:40
package that feels really homey um so we'll start up top um we have a 7 1/2
9:46
gallon solar shower which has a breakaway here so I tried to make everything as modular as possible if you
9:51
ever need to replace anything or do anything to it down the road has a breakaway here the 72 gallon water tank
9:58
gives you 4 4 minutes of gravity fed shower time and it also is just an extra you know storage for water in general
10:04
it's got a 5x5 commercial TX deck up top um that commercial TX deck is accessible
10:10
with a ladder on the side that we can go check out later and then it's got 260 W solar panels up top that run all the
10:16
internal systems um the the actual panels themselves are on commercial grade hinges so they can be adjusted um
10:24
depending on what your location is if you wanted the efficiency of those panels and they also ask is is back rest
10:29
so when you're up on the deck you can actually have two lounge seats with your with your panels themselves um and then
10:36
as we come into the into the van all the tables on the outside are very easy and then each one
10:43
of them has a magnet on the bottom so that actually locks
10:49
in locks in place cuz I'm very particular about uh squeaks and Shakes
10:54
and rattles and things like that along the way um this one is actually designed
11:01
specifically specifically for this Grill so this is where basically our kitchen set up here so when we're here I can
11:07
have this opened up as my prep table I can have this opened up basically for my grill this comes on and off very easily
11:15
can situate here I can Grill here I can prep out here I've got my spice rack
11:20
accessible she can be inside and she can basically set up everything she can start prepping things and I can stay out
11:26
here outside of outside of the weather cooking everything up with the propane so there's plenty of ventilation I
11:32
prefer not to cook in the van as much as I as much as I can um and then like I said this again comes
11:38
very quick easy this can come down that locks in place and then this actually
11:44
compresses in here if you want to look on the side so that compresses inside so
11:50
then there's no shaking or rattling or anything like that so that was all designed from beginning to
11:57
end of course you got to have the pretty flowers so and then as we come into the
12:04
van um everything inside this van is built of Cedar the only thing that's not Cedar is the tabletops just because you
12:09
need some sort of hard wood to be able to do that with so you have the butcher block top SE uh top all of this outside
12:17
framing that you see is actually the skeletal structure of the the frame itself so you don't have a lot of weight
12:23
because one Cedar Cedar's uh bug resistant it's very strong as far as the structural integrity of it but it's
12:29
extremely light so you can build this whole thing the inside of this whole van outside of the batteries and the water
12:34
is only 650 lb so that's the only thing that I've added to the inside of the actual van um and then as we go up into
12:41
the van so we've got your nice all these are
12:48
accessible so we keep different spices in here and this was kind of an idea back in the day with my grandfather he
12:54
was always keeping his nuts and bolts and everything in there um we have storage at here plates we normally keep
13:00
food in this area um this is real brick backsplash halfin slic brick and uh one
13:07
thing that one of the main features of this van that I wanted to make sure is the accessibility to your electrical
13:12
unit so each one of these panels is design individually and is controlled off of rib nuts so each one of these rib
13:18
nuts can come off I can disassemble all three of these independent panels within 22 minutes so I after I've timed it out
13:26
and that way so from beginning to end underneath we'll show the bed in a little bit when it goes up you basically
13:31
have access to your entire electrical system so if anything goes wrong down the down the road and you need to take one of these panels off to whether you
13:38
need to replace something or if you have something that's burned out or if you just want to add something if I decided
13:43
I want an additional plug or I needed more electricity here I can pull these panels off and access everything
13:49
underneath we'll open up this bed so this is a this is a standard twin bed
13:54
here when this comes out and extends out it extends out to just under a fulls
13:59
sizee bed so that situates there and we can have and that becomes your fulls
14:05
sizee bed that situates there same thing with all the other tables they're all as easy
14:13
as possible and then you can hear that satisfying click make sure that you know that you're in place um this is our
14:19
dual-sided port hole so this port hole here opens up and then you have another
14:27
side on the outside so the reason that I built it that way as well so it's modular so it has a split unit so this
14:32
is a removable weather stripping on the inside so you can take that weather stripping out and still break away that
14:37
panel and we have some uh insulation in there guys so that's that's what you're seeing Y and we can pull that out for
14:43
you so you can actually see out there you go so and that one on the outside opens up as well so if you have that
14:50
exposed the reason that we place this window here is so when you're using the max fan that's actually drawing air
14:55
across your entire body so it it allows you to keep a little bit more cool and then underneath this bed
15:02
show so this bed is the main storage underneath so we keep this is where we keep a lot of our bedding our pots our
15:09
pans any Adventure stuff that we need over here we have a secondary water tank I'll run you through the plumbing here
15:15
in a little bit um and then this is the entire electrical system so we have the 260 W panels that are upstairs that runs
15:22
a 200 amp hour battery with mppt charge controller 3,000 WT Peak Inver pure sin
15:29
wve and that's the 12vt breaker box that basically runs the LED lights the water pump um all of the switches over here
15:37
everything is on onoff switches so nothing is drawing power until you call it to draw Power um and again storage
15:43
you know anything tools anything that you need along the road and you have access to everything it's able to
15:49
breathe it's able to have plenty of ventilation um and there's a little bit of insulation here just to just to make
15:55
sure and I just want to point attention to uh the details of the all the joinery is just and you can see
16:03
here how the internal framing is actually done so this is this is all Cedar framing there's not big bolty 2x4s
16:09
and bolts and crazy stuff that's going to add a lot Yep this yeah and this was all custom mil so I basically buy the
16:15
6x6 Cedar and I Mill down each and every one of these individual yeah I didn't
16:20
even I wasn't even paying attention that this is the the structure yeah and then these are spring these are spring loaded
16:26
so once this opens up all these drawers open and close and those are you know
16:31
your exture storage ex sexually accessibility so we keep a lot of our propane here underneath
16:37
here actually look at that that's a cutting board that slides in place and doesn't move around at all situate that
16:44
in place and then if we move into the the um the actual water tanks themselves
16:50
so again trying to keep everything modular everything on here is on Quick Connect so we have six gallon six gallon
16:56
water tank here the secondary six gallon water tank is here and again everything's on quick connects so this
17:03
comes up locks into place there I can pull that out I can replace it with the other one and then I also have this is a
17:10
dummy so that doesn't drip that's just a dummy just so it stays in there in place same thing with this one up here so if you see a secondary braided cable that
17:17
secondary braided cable in addition to the solar shower upstairs allows me to tap into the 12vt water pump so I can
17:24
actually use the same the same bib which is this is our shower head out outside
17:30
with the same bib could basically plug into this braided cable here which plugs
17:35
into this secondary and I can basically use that to pressurize so now I have a 10t line
17:42
that goes outside so a lot of the times if we go to the beach or if we need to wash off anything or if we do want you
17:47
know pressurized water as opposed to gravity fed water yeah then we can uh and again everything is as as quick and
17:55
easy possible yeah this little dummy connector is just great that such a
18:01
great idea and that was because basically every single time I was you know taking it on and off it was dripping water on me so I was like I got
18:06
to come up with a simple solution for that and then when it moves on to the gray water tank we have dual drainage so
18:12
you can either decide to go into your gray water tank when you're trying to be stealth or you can divert it and go out
18:18
the wheel well so a lot of the times we're using things like Dr brers or something that's you know
18:23
environmentally friendly so spilling out for instance in a situation like this when you're going into the dirt as long
18:28
as it's something that's not you know going to poison the environment it's not an issue and if you are a place that you want to be stealth some places have
18:34
regulations or if you just don't again you want to be stealth in a parking lot and not you know have the water dumping
18:40
out the bottom of the van you can just easily go into the gray water tank and again this quick connects
18:46
off just by rotating that and now you can pull your gray water tank out and place it back in it's
18:54
excellent and then up here we got the standardized sink I tried to make make it as deep as
19:00
possible and you can regulate the PSI you know underneath depending on what
19:06
you want and again I mentioned before this is real brick backsplash Cedar When I close this so you'll see
19:13
here this is my backboard the reason that it has a curvature not only for the aesthetic reason but it also allows me
19:19
to look out my rearview mirror and see directly through and there's no blind spots within the entire vehicle um and
19:27
then there's one thing but we'll see how the light responds to it but so there's one thing at night we noticed that we
19:32
would dim the LEDs down all the way down and even in the middle of the night it's still too much light so because it was
19:39
too much light and we wanted basically like a little bit of a uh of a nightl at night um we decided to add this little
19:46
additional light which is kind of a decorative you know it's a decorative uh
19:52
decorative NightLight that's based on the same type of ball jars that we have over here and that allows and this is
19:57
also on a dimmer so so we can dim this way way down so in the middle of the night if we need to turn on a light and
20:02
we don't want to Blind ourselves you know if you need to get up to go to the bathroom or get something to drink you know that's pretty simple so so it gives
20:10
us a variable so we can go between between all the way right here and then these switch on you can sh switch that
20:17
off and then these can obviously you have the variability of dimming that um if you if you're working a remote or you
20:24
need a desk area again this is very and everything's designed bench seating so 6'2 the top of the ceiling is 5'4 so if
20:32
you're if you're anyone under 5'4 you can stand up you can have a good time in here but um if you're 6'2 obviously the
20:39
way that I am I built everything so it's bench seating so if I'm here and I'm doing work I can do work here if I'm
20:45
here and I'm sliding over I can slide I can use the sink I can also slide over here and I can do prep work here so even
20:52
it being 6'2 there's still plenty of space to move around and do what I need to be able to do we got extra storage
20:59
under here we already went over the bed all up here is all exposed so the reason I like to make the storage exposed up
21:06
here is the main reason is one one it gives a visual the visual depth of being
21:11
able to see in there it doesn't confide it so visually being able to even visually see to the back end of this in
21:17
my opinion makes a small space look a little bit larger cuz instead of blocking this all the way off visually
21:23
your eyes are thinking that the space you know stops here so it just it makes everything a little bit more confi so we
21:29
wanted to try to keep everything open as exposed as possible and if you see the small details around um I I tried to
21:37
think of every single detail any Gap any area any awkward spot like up yeah guys
21:43
this is that's rope right yep that's rope that's rope that's inlaid and and mounted from the back it's so nice it's
21:49
I'm telling you like these little details I I love I just like I really like this stuff you can see how I blocked up these are each and every area
21:56
that was kind of a there's a lot of peculiar areas I see in a lot of bands very nice texture yeah and this mimics
22:02
the same type of design what's over here yeah and um so yeah and then we can
22:08
probably move over if you want to meet me over on the other side of the van Danny's back
22:18
hi outdoor storage let's see over here oh yeah there's the fridge here so
22:25
that's the fridge we have it on the latch system so whenever we open and close it whenever we're actually opening it that pulls out and this ax is you
22:33
know we can also we can have our knives our forks and whatever we want up here but then this also just a simplistic
22:38
thing we added a bar there so it clips and keeps it into place nice we can have whatever we want we can regulate the
22:44
temperature of this all the way down to -10° if we want this is an additional storage comes out 24 in and this is
22:52
basically our utensils anything that we need to see and you know you can put anything in here
22:58
and then this is the closet area so we have 20 in of of closet space yeah while
23:04
actually while he's over here I'll I'll show you guys what these so this is what we call the magnetic Garden it's been very popular this weekend so these all
23:11
stay fixed here and instead of gluing them in place one because they're going to get in the way I put them on magnets
23:17
so they come on and off you can change the placement of them put them wherever you want and then
23:23
what we'll do is sometimes you have plants to like herbs if you want those plants to have more sunlight or they're
23:29
not getting enough exposure on the outside from being in you can actually take these and magnet them to any part
23:35
of your van so traditionally we do it on the hood just so we don't drive away and forget about your plants on the back of the car but that's been very popular
23:42
people love that little magnetic garden and it adds a little bit of life to the van you can see we like the brick we
23:47
like the exposed wood and um you know you got to have got to have some sort of life other than yourself and your van
23:53
extra pull out table right here this is an extra pull out table we show that real quick so again that opens and
23:59
closes and that's this is mainly when we're like loading up groceries or if we did want to cook on this side for
24:04
whatever reason we could do that as well closet's awesome closet and then we
24:09
have so basically his and hers so we have one storage area there just same thing with the bed it's on a piston so
24:16
it stays up on you got you and then this is actually much deeper than most people think so this continues to go that's an
24:22
additional 24 in yeah and that's you know his and hers are basically just additional storage space however you
24:27
want it to be situated and then Danny upholsters all
24:34
of our individual uh window covering so she used the same same upholster that you use on top of the bed basically
24:41
mimic that entire thing so it gives it gives it a a unified theme throughout the entire thing so and the company was
24:49
named after my grandmother uh Nana so that's what we called her Nana her name was Janet so now that we every single
24:55
one that we build we we prefer that you name it after your favorite grandmother just to kind of stick with the theme and
25:01
um these are actually an homage to my grandfather as well after he passed away these are prayer flags that were made from old t-shirts of his so it's kind of
25:08
an homage to the the generation that comes before so it's been interesting talking to a lot of the different generational gaps and people that have
25:14
been at the show to see how people respond to that lots of nanas like our like our merchandise and so that's been
25:21
really awesome cool so yeah that's pretty I think that's uh cool I'll meet
25:26
both of you guys at the the we we'll close out the tour here all right guys so Danny and Troy
25:36
this man is incredible thank you guys so much for the tour so thank you tell them
25:41
uh where they can uh where they can best find you guys the best place so it's nans nan.com is the website and you can
25:48
also reach us at our Instagram which isore nans we're also nans on Facebook and soon to be YouTube as soon as we uh
25:54
get on the ball and start creating that so we can document future builds and keep you guys up to date with what's
26:00
going on with Janet awesome all right once again guys thank you so much for the tour thank you appreciate it thank
26:06
you so much we'll see you guys in the next one see you guys bye thank Nick all right guys we're over here at
26:12
bougie builds I got it right with Bobby and Chris and uh we're going to walk
26:18
through some of these uh builds do a little tour and uh yeah guys tell us a
26:23
little bit about your Vans you yourself and um then we'll do a little Tour all right all right hey how you doing I'm
26:29
Bobby I'm Chris there you go I thought you were going to go okay so our company
26:34
is bougie builds and the name kind of came about because you know our vans are bougie but we're not we're super relaxed
26:42
um but so this van behind us is Ivan it's our first van and we built this when we were living out in Southern
26:48
California and now we're located in fville North Carolina and that's where
26:54
we're building our vans out of yeah temporarily and um we're at this show here at peace love and vans and we've
27:00
got three of our custom builds here today so if you want to start with our first one the original the OG is right
27:07
here behind us this is Ivan yeah Ivan was our first so Ivan is a uh 2019
27:14
Mercedes sprinter with a 170 wheelbase on it 2014 2014 that's right
27:20
2014 yeah so this was a passenger van we actually bought it in Florida and then flew in from California and Road tripped
27:26
it all the way back to California with a blowup mattress and a bucket and a cooler so that was our first like van
27:32
life experience and then we got to California we ripped out all the seats it had it was a passenger so it had all
27:37
the seats in it and then literally like we pulled in Bobby pulled all the seats out the walls out and we started working
27:43
on it the minute we got to California so that was kind of like our first experience like into van life was the
27:48
blowup mattress and everything and we're like oh we made it we're van lifers you know we're living on the floor of our van on an air mattress and it was like
27:54
the best road trip cuz it was just like our first introduction to like this the world of Van life and then we got back
28:01
we kind of had some ideas of what we wanted to do because of that trip one big thing definitely was a an actual
28:08
toilet after having a bucket so um all of our vans so far have had an actual
28:14
full bathroom in them um not because we want them because most of our clients have ended up being solo female
28:20
Travelers yeah and they all want a bathroom to go in and shut a door or a curtain like no one wants to sit in the
28:26
middle of their on their toilet yeah like you have like a dedicated space exactly and that's been a big thing cuz you know some
28:33
people don't care but a lot of our our people do cuz they're bougie you know they want their toilet in a room you
28:39
know so you got a bougie van you got to have a full bath yeah exactly you're not bougie if you don't have a bathroom
28:45
exactly that should be our slogan you're not bougie unless you have a bathroom that's a good one that's a good one yeah
28:50
so you want to hear like kind of some of the features in this or you just want to look at it no start to finish so the the
28:57
first thing I walk in this is kind of so one thing I really like about these type of builds so you kind of have like
29:02
Adventure van and like this style is this is It's like a home so you'll
29:08
you'll have these little nooks that it's like for example like this is like a
29:13
defined space it's kind of like separate from over here but yeah so it's like a bar this is yeah our coffee space Wine
29:20
Bar kind of set up and then this was a a feature that was added a little bit later but um and it was kind of
29:26
interesting cuz her daughter was moving out and wanted to get rid of this thing and it fit perfectly in here so that's
29:31
why we put this in here and she added some color to go with that to make it so Ivan's typically been black and white
29:36
and then with this color she added a bit of yellow and it just really kind of spruced the place up everybody loved it
29:42
too everybody's like oh I love that microwave it's literally and my daughter just like you want this I'm moving and
29:47
it's like the big feature in the van now you know but that's kind of how it works you know just it's just so Random like
29:53
what it feels very cozy it's like a very cozy feel yeah we wanted it to feel like a house cuz when we first built it we're
29:59
like oh we're going to travel we're going to live full time in it like we kind of had that vision and then um we
30:04
just started getting busy building Vans and so we actually didn't have a chance to do that you know we took long trips
30:11
but we never actually lived in it for more than two month two months was the longest sweep yeah a couple months we
30:16
stayed in it actually while we waited for a new house to close but um this one has the pantry which um a lot of bands
30:23
have nice a pull out Pantry in them you know for all your GR groceries actually our other build she keeps like her
30:29
bathroom supplies in here this I know well the way he did the cabinet doors
30:36
they were too thick for a lot of the locks just the way it's configured so we just we actually had nothing and then we
30:42
went around a corner one day and this thing went flying out we're like oh no yeah so he put that in same with the
30:48
fridge um and this is actually an RV fridge but it doesn't have a lock but you know when you turn a a good corner
30:55
and you have you know some weight in the door this thing will fly open one time we had salsa everywhere so we put like
31:02
these little this child lock on it and so this is like we actually have a
31:07
couple of refrigerators today because we have a couple vans so we have a couple random things and in each fridge but
31:13
that's like a 3.3 cubic fridge and it's got like a little freezer up here um so
31:20
yeah this our little bar area here and then you know she wanted a dedicated closet wants clet I tell you what like
31:27
my van I've got a low roof but for some reason if I could have a hanging closet yeah I I'm probably going to do itce the
31:33
interesting thing is is this was pretty wide we saw another build that actually had it was only about this wide but it was wide enough to be able to at least
31:39
hang something up there which is really good to be able to have your stuff hanging in there and then this is for shoes down here so that's just a shoe
31:45
our shoe area that's great and this was we we did this for another client and she said she had to have one of these
31:51
too so right another awesome thing that so cuz
31:57
I was like um I was in the band by myself and I'm like I needed a mirror so I just went on on Amazon and ordered
32:03
peeling sticks and then then I did that and then we did this for a client and I was like wait I want that so this is
32:10
like see the Prototype and then the same time yeah how that works he's like that's not bougie I don't know uh who
32:16
needs to tell you this but so now we have that these These are okay but you know if you want to fix your hat or
32:22
whatever but you can't get the full effect so yeah it was like we looking at the full it's like we need a but then
32:27
it's like okay well we'll do these but then they're like okay those aren't in the right spot then the door ones weren't good and then that one there's a
32:33
couple times we went out and we got all dressed up and everything you still want to see what you all look like you know when it's nice and everything else yeah
32:39
we're like we don't even know what we look like right now but usually in a van you don't you know so let you go that way get used to it I'm going to dry off
32:46
um it's like been pouring rain the entire day we're doing good guys we're doing good we're doing good so we if you
32:52
want to come to the shower cuz this is like um an awesome thing all right Nick it's time to go to the showers all right
32:59
so this is actually so this is how important the sh the bathrooms are we we skipped the kitchen no forget about
33:06
straight to the bathroom you you can cook and you can cook so you come out here and you flip off you flip your eggs
33:13
and then you're back in here reading your phone and then you're back over here with the eggs man you guys are professional multitaskers right no but
33:19
so this van was a passenger van so it has wraparound windows and but Bobby wanted to be able to put the wall for
33:25
the shower so but I insisted on a way to see out so I'm just going to open this even though it doesn't really it doesn't
33:31
go outside but so there's a port hole oh yeah but there's a window oh that is so
33:37
cool okay so and then because of the way the van the structure of the van this is
33:43
the only place but this the only place this would fit and then not really
33:48
knowing and then once we put the toilet in it's like it's perfect you can see
33:54
right out the window when we first started out she started shooting pictures from there and so you have these views from out of the portal which
33:59
turn out pretty cool it's like it's like toilet Chronicles yeah yeah so and then
34:04
the it's a cassette toilet that I'm currently sitting on um and then it has the shower as you see um the shower head
34:11
and then it's got the it's got the spray wand over here oh yeah so you can actually shower and and also cook your
34:18
dinner um it's like all multifunctional in here
34:23
yeah she just made a whole wet bath van I know I mean this is this is functionality at
34:29
its finest right here those drawers look really nice on the kitchen so so these drawers again um we had some locks on
34:36
here but they just weren't doing it yeah and so we ended up putting these locks again and then these are like a thicker
34:43
cabinet or a door so the regular like magnet locks and like different locks
34:49
were not they were like this was too thick for them to go through so we ended up doing those now in our van builds we
34:55
don't we don't do them our first one and we really didn't you know there was a lot of learning curve for for this one
35:00
here so we didn't really know so um we definitely changed up how we lock all of our drawers now and then actually we
35:07
couldn't decide on a cooktop so we had the gas and the induction and literally
35:13
like a month ago last show we um he took the counter out and and cut this and put
35:18
the induction in here so it' be cuz we actually since we're putting this one up for sale I'm like we should put the
35:23
actually put the stove in um and it's got two more dra the bottom draw is like a deeper drawer we keep all our we keep
35:30
our our one pan we only need one pan right just like got one burner what are
35:35
you going to do um one pan two plates two forks two spoons yeah yeah there's two of us I mean so and then I like this
35:43
detail well okay that's a funny story so all these so here's I hope I have enough
35:49
battery on this GoPro it's like 7 o'clock tonight well so here's the thing I'm
35:55
like super creative and Bobby super literal yeah and so when we were designing this I was like okay I want
36:02
this to be curved right I want that to be curved this to curve in so this goes in because the bathroom juted out yeah
36:09
so I was on the floor of the van and I took blue tape so I did the blue tape and did my curves but I did it with blue
36:16
tape so this is a line so Bobby comes in do you do you understand my dilemma here she said Cur she said curves I said Cur
36:24
there's no curve this is an angle so she put the yeah like I wanted this round right and
36:29
so I I did it with the tape but in the with the tape it was straight because I didn't like cut I didn't make it the way
36:36
I wanted it this is this is years of guys interpreting exact this is like how this this is life right this is
36:42
literally like life right here trying to make it right so I so he's like okay I
36:47
got um I got the cabinet cut and the countertop cut and I walk back out and I'm like why is it angled at the corner
36:54
and he's like well that's what you did with the tape and I'm like no it was supposed to be round and he's like but that's not what you did with the tape
37:00
I'm like but I said I wanted it round and the tape went around the corner and he was like I like this better than turn
37:06
out yeah so that's like all the mistakes are good things right it wasn't a mistake it's got a light switch in it and then it's got the beer yeah it was a
37:13
miscommunication not a mistake but then he did the same thing here because you know of course I did the same thing here
37:18
so this was going to be all round but now it actually is good right it looks good it ended up a very good thing that
37:24
we miscommunicated that see you see what we're doing we got here and then we got this and then well yeah after we did
37:31
that I'm like okay now we got to run with it now we got to just go with it cuz now it looks like we did it on purpose right all those cabinets that's
37:38
cool so then okay the cabinets here Another Story Another Story yeah it's a good story here so the cabinets okay so
37:45
I said I want to want mountain ranges on the cabinets and I want like a sunrise and a moon and stuff and he said here's
37:50
a jigsaw I'm busy building all the rest of this stuff he's building the whole van on like I want mountains and he's
37:55
like he's tring trying to build a cabinet you know but you know the mountains were like the most important thing to me and the cabinet was building
38:01
the van was the most important thing to him so he's like here's how you use a jigsaw go make yourself some mountains
38:07
so I made mountains a hot air balloon and come back here so this side of the
38:13
van is nighttime so this is black there's the moon there's the van yeah this side of
38:19
the van is the day so this is light in the back dark in the front there's the van with us in it by the way and the
38:27
[Music] sun oh guys that's awesome so then I
38:33
went kind of crazy with the jigsaw and I'm like I just started making everything out of a jigsaw I even did this right here I'm like I was like
38:39
Bobby look we need a wave right there and he's like no one will ever see that wave and I'm like I saw that see but I
38:45
didn't know you didn't know it was a wave and his son was like no all your pants are going to get hooked on it's
38:50
the dumbest thing I've ever seen that's the second thing I'm see actually I saw it like when when
38:56
we were redoing some stuff on the van I was like wait what was that oh yeah it was a wave that was awesome I kind of thought it was like an eagle at first
39:02
yeah and then under here I did Moon handles and he's like no one will ever see those I'm like uh yes they will it's
39:07
not if you can see it it's that they're there that's awesome yeah so that's that's those story is there a story
39:13
behind the guitar oh that is a really I don't even know why I said that of course of course there's a story well
39:20
that is this is the this one's kind of a long story I'll go really short though so in 2017
39:27
I had a 20-year-old son that died and he was a guitar player and so when we
39:32
decided to hit the road full-time time I had sold my house in Florida and I only
39:38
kept a small amount of things like I literally just got rid of everything and but I kept his guitars and so I said if
39:44
we're going to hit the road I want to bring his guitar and so we actually laid his guitar down traced it and this is
39:51
his actual guitar wow and then um we decided so it's just going to mount in
39:57
here and be back lit well then we're like okay in California like in the day it was like getting up to the 110° and
40:04
stuff and I'm like I don't want the guitar in here in this hot weather if we're going to be driving and so we
40:10
actually um the wood cut out um we did the epoxy resin on so now it's the epoxy
40:16
cutout of his actual guitar so now it's like so cool his guitar is with us
40:21
everywhere we go and we actually have this van up for sale and everybody's like oh but you got take you got to keep
40:27
that you know and I was like well maybe they have a different guitar and we'll just take this off and cut it we could
40:33
cut it for their guitar right and they could put their guitar in here and then we could keep this or if they just you
40:40
know want my son's guitar to travel with them then they can do that because I'm sure he'd be very happy to know that his guitar is traveling around with someone
40:46
else too yeah could be it could be part of Ivan it's I yeah it's part of Ivan you know so it's you know I'd love that
40:52
so it's like I had to have that and just and the funny thing short story about that part was Bobby built the shower and
40:59
it was done and I was like oh my gosh I had a dream last night that Hudson's guitar was in here and it was in it was
41:05
lit up and then I actually had a dream it folded over and made a counter he he just looked at me and he's like but I
41:11
already finished that part and I was like well I know but it was like a dream it was like the guitar I know but we got
41:17
to take it apart right so he's like he's like kind of looked at me super annoyed and then I came back like an hour later
41:23
and he had all dismantled and he's like okay well I think we can do this heck yeah so it it made its way in so it
41:29
worked so um again one of those things it was like after the fact we didn't really plan on that but you know it's
41:37
like one of the things and then all of our videos people have seen they're like they're like oh the van with the guitar
41:43
like people remember the van yeah because the guitar so it's like so one of the things we say too is that a lot
41:49
of uh or all of our van builds they kind of build themselves so as we get started on them we kind of have a a basic design
41:55
of what we want to do or even if it's for our client we we kind of have a basic idea of what's going to be done but then we'll be going through and we
42:01
go oh this would be perfect if we did this here and then things just morph into what they are and that's kind of
42:06
how that came along and we've had several other things in in our builds that have done the same thing and we just go the band The Vans build
42:13
themselves you know kind of in a in a sense and obviously we're the we're the hands that do it but um the ideas come
42:19
and then we make those things come to life and she's got a lot of great ideas and you know she is definitely the the
42:25
design inspiration behind um all of our vans um and again most of our vans are
42:30
for solo female Travelers but because of the designs that she puts in them for that so she's done a fantastic job and
42:36
you know I have had to Buck against a lot of her stuff but in the long run I finally come back and go you know what
42:42
that really was a good idea and I love what you did and I'm glad we did it so but it's not easy at first usually I say
42:47
it when he's already done something like and then I'm like oh I had an idea and then he's like oh great okay what is it
42:56
and then but then he's like then I like I kind of leave I kind of put it in his head then I kind of go away and then I come back a little bit later and then
43:02
he's like okay I figured it out so he usually figures it out but then it ends up like people walk in the van and it's
43:08
like their favorite thing and it's just this random thing that we did it's a lot of little lot of little details that
43:13
come together like oh also is the bed uh is it does it turn into a dinette or
43:18
well that's a long story no oh so the bed we got 34% right
43:26
okay it's getting dark now um yeah so the bed was um basically we built this
43:32
as a big u-shaped dinette mhm cuz I had a vision of like sitting here playing
43:37
cards with like 10 of our favorite people you know like sitting around the table and hanging out in here and so
43:42
that was kind of like the vision and then after we traveled it a few times we're like okay um we have to make the
43:49
bed make the table make the bed make the dinette like every time you get up you got to make the dinette and then you got
43:55
to make your bed and night and it just got to be like this is kind of a lot of work we don't really want to you know cuz then you got to put your comforter
44:01
in a cabinet and it just was like all this stuff we had to do and we're like we just didn't like it and so we ended
44:07
up um making this back part so it's like permanent I mean we could move it back
44:13
if we wanted but we made it so the bed stays basically 3/4 of the way all the time and then we left this dinette part
44:21
exposed and so it's like actually those cushions go all the way back but um we
44:26
bought another foam mattress topper here so basically at night before we when
44:32
we're ready to go to bed we just move this out of the way and then you know we push that over there the back cushions
44:38
go down here yeah this slides out and then we fold this over and now we have a king-size bed so we sleep long ways so
44:45
then this is a king-sized mattress perfect so now we kind of have the best of both worlds um after traveling in it
44:51
and having it for four years I think the next bed will be fixed y you know and then have a dinette somewhere else in
44:58
the van as well because it with this layout you do not have a garage yeah so on the back of this fan we have a
45:04
magical Ben bench that slides out and you can sit on it and watch the sunrise
45:09
but you don't have anywhere to put anything so we don't have a lot of storage in the bag gotcha so that's
45:16
probably one of the things we'll change in our next van so that's why we're selling this one cuz yeah there's a lot of things we want to do different you
45:22
know just after experimenting and also like you know we do all custom builds for people so you know people will ask
45:29
us like what do you think of this kind of bed and we'll be like well here's our experience CU we have traveled extensively so we can give people a good
45:35
idea of what's kind of works and what doesn't for like whatever you're doing
45:40
you know if you're just a Weekender or if there's two of you or if you're just by yourself like we've done a lot of
45:45
different things with the van you know personally so we can give some good advice to people that are kind of new to
45:51
this so one thing I want to ask was the AC looks different it is yeah so this is a was
45:59
originally a passenger van and so the AC unit actually went from the front here
46:06
all the way to the back unit back here okay so we kind of we talked to some people that said well you can pull it
46:12
out of here but there was some things when we were in California some epas um legislation and all that kind of
46:17
stuff we didn't want to mess with it so we just decided to actually cut this down and bring this piece back to where
46:22
we just have the AC here so it's not running the whole length of the van so it's a factory AC but the only thing we
46:28
don't like about that is the engine has to be on for the AC to work so don't really like that part of it um in our
46:34
new van builds or whatever we do we would definitely use a 12volt one of the 12vt um a AC units from there yeah live
46:42
and learn awesome guys well hey this has been an awesome van awesome tour I mean you guys are funny as
46:49
hell and uh thanks Nick the uh so tell everyone where they can find you online
46:56
get connected well our website is bougie bus.com So it's b o u
47:01
j bus.com um we're on Instagram as we have Chris low on the go is one we have
47:09
happily that's me but and then we have happily traveling ever after which I kind of post on both because we do like
47:17
I do stuff you know we do stuff together and then his is Bob Brown did you change it no Bob Brown online Bob Brown online
47:24
but he's Bobby um Bobby Brown the old days it's still the same name but yeah
47:29
his is Bob Brown online so we have like three Instagrams um Tik Tok I post on Chris low on the go um cuz kind of like
47:37
for about a year we were helping my daughter with my grandson so like all my content was like me and my four-year-old
47:42
grandson so I kind of you know it's like we weren't really building and we weren't traveling that much we were kind
47:47
of hanging out at the park and stuff so you know I kind of started posting all my personal stuff but um but if anyone
47:54
needs us they can go to Bouie build and we have you can reach us directly on there um and we are out of fville North
48:01
Carolina so but like our they're in fville and I'm in Hickory we got get together we got to
48:07
get together it's uh it's just so Random how how that happens just walking at an event and then all of a sudden you guys
48:13
were there well that's one of the things we love Nick about this we were talking about that earlier you know the the community here and the people that you
48:19
meet and what you really find out is that this is such a small world in this community and you meet people from from
48:25
all over the place and then you come find find out was man we live that close to each other that's crazy you know
48:31
pretty wild I just saw one of my neighbors from when I lived in okoi for 30 years he lived right next to me yeah
48:38
and he just walked up I'm like this is crazy what are you do here he sold his house and he's living on a I haven't
48:44
lived here in over four years in Florida and he just happens to walk up to our booth so that's awesome small world
48:50
small world yeah heck yeah all right guys we're going to sign off um this is awesome awesome tour thanks so much
48:56
sorry I got dark and you ran out of battery but it was great it's all good yeah we'll we'll probably see you in next event the next one and I'm
49:03
definitely I'll come by yeah we're going to get together for for sure let's get together in North Carolina awesome North
49:08
kakalaki all right we'll see you guys okay bye now all right guys I got Logan here
49:15
Logan tell me a little bit about who you are what your company is um because we're going to actually talk about the
49:21
ecoflow system that he has in this build I'm really excited about it but uh Logan tell us about your company well I'm
49:27
Logan uh obviously uh Vans East I'm half of Vans East my partner is actually not here due to an injury very unfortunately
49:33
um but um we're van builders in Central Florida we're in Melbourne Beach we've been doing it for a while uh I used to
49:39
build house boats that's kind of how I got into this um right now I got a 2500 Sprinter short wheelbase we wanted to do
49:45
a really light weight utilitarian but cozy and lots of amenities type build
49:51
like have all the things but have the space be ultra light fuel efficient one of the way ways that we're able to achieve that is with the ecoflow system
49:58
now one of the things I love about it first and foremost is it's less work for me I mean I just plug it in it's done
50:04
pretty much um another really really really neat part about it is the math like I'm a gear nerd I really like the
50:10
math it's a 48volt battery system so um effectively you're using less copper few
50:16
electrical components cuz lower voltage means a lower current draw which means you can go with smaller copper so I cut
50:23
the weight and volume of my power system pretty much in half I think um but then
50:28
the other really neat thing is like we've got the touchcreen here so you can control input output you can check usage
50:35
you can look at individual uh fuses and components and Breakers and I think the first six um DC Breakers you can
50:42
actually control remotely with that but I also have the app on my phone which which does a lot of the same things but
50:47
it has a couple of hidden features that I love one of the really neat things a lot of people won't know about is when
50:52
you hook up the DC todc charging system for it it's a two-way so for some reason you've been draining your battery cuz you've been parked for a long time and
50:58
you haven't run your engine you go into the advanced settings switch it on and you can charge your car battery so cool
51:04
so they they have all these really neat little features um but the best part is it's plug andplay and it's lightweight
51:10
and it's a small volume and it's like terribly efficient it almost doesn't make sense but the math adds up I've
51:16
tested it I love it we're going to put more in I love them yeah tell us about your air conditioner because uh so I'm
51:23
going to be putting a 48v volt AC and John and Susan's van uh that's the current build that we're doing uh but
51:30
you actually have a 110 I do and so are you just taking it straight off the plug
51:35
from the inverter and running it or yeah it's running off the inverter um and you know if like what you are doing um
51:43
existed when like if I could have gotten that 48 Vol AC I probably would have tested that myself 110 you know when
51:49
you're inverting power you have energy loss right every time you change every time you have a joint there's
51:54
inefficiency but this thing is so dang efficient and the fact that it's 48 volt it doesn't it does not um it still makes
52:03
more sense to go 110 because the 9500 BTU unit I got my air conditioners 9500 BTUs on ice cold I'm talking about in
52:10
the 60s with the fan on high it doesn't even quite draw 850 Watts now it's
52:16
cycling off and on if it were running onethird of the time which it's not going to it's going to be off far more
52:23
often and not run as much as 1/3 but if it were on 1/3 I'm setting it to 66° I think is the test I did fan on high I
52:30
could run it for 2 days on my 5 Kow battery which is like crazy efficient it's just as crazy efficient and again I
52:37
saved weight and space which was a big important part of this so the AC unit um
52:42
those are the specs but it's uh hoton I believe Rec Pro is the US distributor for it but hotton is an Australian air
52:48
conditioner um manufacturer they make some other appliances too and the Aussies have dialed in overlanding and
52:54
camping in RVs way ahead of us because they have such a huge continent to drive across this AC is not new it's new to
53:00
the US it is incredible and I'm going to install more of these but I'm really curious about your 48 volt AC I mean I
53:06
might have to do that on the next build yeah so the one we're using is a Pneumatic coolings uh X2 48 so it just
53:13
came out in December um or that's when I got mine I think the normal launch was
53:18
January this year um oh getting there early yeah I know I know right so uh
53:24
that was pretty exciting did that live stream but this 110 I think it's really interesting to tell people that you can
53:32
use it and but with this system you're going to have you said what two days
53:37
yeah two days on that's that's it cycling on and off right and and I and I estimated for um like running 33% of the
53:45
time but the reality is your air conditioner is probably not going to run that often because obviously cycling means it turns on to cool and then it
53:52
turns off and it stays off for a while then it turns back on and turns back off so I estimating a third to kind of I
53:58
like to overestimate bad things or underestimate capacity just so that like
54:03
if I'm wrong it's in a good way um and yeah if it was running 1/3 and I'm on
54:09
way colder than I would turn it which is like below 70 I can run for two days
54:14
without charging now obviously I have solar I've got short power I can charge with the engine's on so I have a lot
54:19
more flexibility than that I don't really need to worry about running out of power in 2 days but two days yeah
54:24
yeah and also like my w I have 12 12 gauge wire I save money I save weight I
54:30
don't have these big thick cables that's why I didn't want to do 12vt because it's so heavy and cumbersome and there's
54:36
a lot higher risk for heat because of the the uh low voltage High amp draw and
54:42
this is just like everything about this made sense except like how could it be that efficient I know it is and I tested
54:47
it in the field and it works just like advertised it's amazing yeah so let's uh let's finish up the Eco flow and then
54:53
we'll do a tour uh show me me where you got the ecoflow unit and the battery and then uh how you have everything
54:59
connected yeah so like a lot of people obviously we got a garage in the
55:06
back I know the timing is not right well uh Hey guys yeah no wores hey
55:12
how's it going guys so we've got the Eco flow over here on the right side of the van I'm a
55:18
little half Hazard right now uh it was raining and I had this closed mostly so
55:23
um apologies for the but um so I have a 400 W um portable solar panel again I wanted efficiency
55:30
and I get more power when I can move my panels with the Sun so I have the portable unit um it's not set up right
55:36
now because it's like Northwest weather here in Florida currently um weight balance was important so I've got water
55:42
in the center hot water and utili on the left but my power system obviously is here on the right it's a 5.12 Kow or
55:50
5,120 wat um battery if it were a 12vt not a 48 8 Vol um that's the equivalent
55:56
of 426 amp hours if I'm not mistaken on my math um and if it were 12vt I would
56:02
need two batteries roughly this size and weight to achieve the same amount of power storage so that's super awesome
56:09
another really cool thing about it is like I just got one battery cuz I wanted to test this whole ultra light super
56:15
utilitarian build but we can add one or two more so I can go from 5,000 to 10,000 to 15,000 watts of storage and
56:22
there's no wiring so whoever the lucky buyer is of this beautiful van who we've
56:27
named Betty White by the way I should have started with that um they want to add more power Just For Peace of Mind even though this is an amazing system um
56:35
you plug it in there's no wiring the plugs right here let me struggle to get that open
56:41
it's all you get the cables from ecoflow ready to go all you need is a is a drill
56:46
a couple of screws to put the brackets in on the floor and then you stack one or two more batteries and you can have a
56:51
much bigger system without the need for actual electrical work so there's so many things they about in their
56:57
engineering for the end user ease of use but also the actual math for efficiency
57:02
and storage I mean this inverter is 3600 Watts but it has the mppt solar charge controller the DC todc charger um AC
57:10
output short power input um and a 12vt step down converter built in just to
57:16
this thing and it's 3600 and surg to 6,000 I believe it is 3600 um standard
57:23
like steady flow it's incredible that they just pack that all in and that's I mean it's a feat of engineering but they
57:29
did it it's tried and true it's tested and we've pushed it to its limits and I'm so excited about all of that nerd
57:36
stuff yeah but like I did not spend a lot of time in curse words and busted Knuckles and Mild chalks even though I'm
57:43
really safe sometimes you get little zit zit here and there none of that with this it's just so easy and can you pop
57:48
that panel off and just uh point out kind of how you got the uh this is kind of the bread and butter
57:54
of the system because it's so user friendly for a diyre because it's everything's integrated the breakers are
58:01
already built in it's just you need to populate them as a user that's pretty much it yep they um yeah you just plug
58:07
in the wiring what's really cool too is they set it up where you put ferals on the ends of your wires which are like
58:13
kind of like a little little nipples you on so if you were to make a change or needed to do some service when you
58:19
remove you move remove this cover there's just a little lever kind of like the old like the speakers back in the
58:25
'90s when you would plug your wires in you just like relieve that lever and you pull the wire out and there's no there's
58:30
no like bare copper sticking out all over the place you want to put it back in boom it's done the first six DC um
58:38
circuits are actually controllable via the app on your phone or your tablet or
58:43
whatever and also on the um smart touchcreen controller up front I can actually shut these off remotely without
58:50
having to come back here and deal with them so that's a really cool way like when you're not using an clients or an outlet or something anytime an
58:57
electrical connection exists even if something's off it still uses a little bit of energy which over time can add up
59:03
and you know in Van life and in boat life we're all about efficiency and power and water saving so it's really
59:08
neat to be able to shut off unused circuits without actually manually having to come back here and do it um
59:15
and actually if this is connected to Wi-Fi or in our case we have starlink if I if I have that on and running my power
59:22
system is connected to the internet I can control this from anywhere in the world not just Bluetooth on my phone so I can be like oh man I'm on a trip
59:28
visiting family and I forgot that I like I left the fridge on and I don't want it to be on cuz I'm not using it for a few
59:34
weeks I just shut it off on my phone you know 600 miles away okay I'm going to zoom in there real quick and get the see
59:41
if we can get the uh so we got water heater AC Galley bench one bench
59:47
two garage light outdoor water pump fridge Max a garage pug yeah so you can
59:55
just organize it very clean you don't have to be an electrician to actually crmp everything the ferals are a bonus
1:00:03
that's an easy thing to do you can get a kid off of Amazon yeah and I don't think you have to use those but it's really nice take them out from it's good
1:00:09
practice it's good practice it's tidy it's tidy it makes for a really clean connection too cuz again we love
1:00:15
efficiency um and uh and you know it's it's it's one of those things where this
1:00:22
is not overly complicated even if you've never heard of a fair rule like you said you get them off Amazon you can get the tool for 10 or 12 bucks um and it is
1:00:29
really good practice for crimping small wire but it just also makes any servicing that has to be done when we
1:00:35
say servicing we're like we actually are going to we're swapping out the lights or I'm turning that fan connection I
1:00:41
want that to be a USB if I want to go disconnect it I just pull a lever and pull the wire out just to be safe um
1:00:48
you're not like the wires are not like uh fraying out exactly they're nice
1:00:54
and nice and tight um we just talked about efficiency but we have a 110 volt
1:01:00
water heater that most people would say is not efficient but you might have the
1:01:05
same opinion I have on that one cuz that's the one I like I got a lot of unpopular opinions because I like science um and the so the
1:01:14
110 there's a uh what what do we call it um um resistive heating which is when
1:01:21
you use electricity to heat something up your Purp F creating friction to waste
1:01:26
electricity and that waste turns into heat it is all necessarily inefficient to use electricity to heat things up but
1:01:34
we want to try to make things less efficient as possible by not doing the 12vt one I saved a bunch of money I
1:01:41
would have need for cable which is like welding cable that's a little bit thicker than my thumb and I've got like
1:01:46
fat hands and thumbs I would have need really big cable to get over to power this thing and a lot of heat and
1:01:53
friction is generated with low voltage because there's a higher current draw so even though I need to run the
1:01:59
inverter to power this thing cuz it's a 110 alternating current power source
1:02:04
that it runs on again the ecoflow system is so efficient the loss in the
1:02:09
inversion is so nominal and this thing heats the water up so stupid hot so
1:02:14
quick because like 15 minutes right yeah and I can I've set it I've got it to 186° which is so unnecessary I mean it's
1:02:22
like I make my coffee at about 19 just shy boiling and like I I can just use
1:02:28
that to do it and and 15 if you're in a really cold place we tested it and I
1:02:34
think I I checked after 30 minutes but it had been off for a little while and I forgot to stop the timer um but it was
1:02:40
like almost boiling hot in in under 30 minutes I can definitely get the water heated where I want it I put it on a
1:02:46
medium setting um because again it's like excessively hot if I turn it all the way up the other thing is um in
1:02:53
terms of efficiency things like this um are also like kinder
1:02:59
to the pocketbook not only because you're saving money on the cabling cuz it's less copper but actually a lot of
1:03:05
low voltage appliances if you say it's RV or Marine it's triple the price just
1:03:10
because but a lot of low voltage stuff costs a lot more and especially with heat 12vt heating is not more efficient
1:03:17
than 110 heating electrical heating is all inefficient but the 110 is actually not bad at all and with this system it
1:03:23
just all the all the math added up and I I really like love this system for I I
1:03:29
can do a lot with a smaller unit yeah and what I like about the Bosch 2 is um
1:03:35
it's residential it's simple it's super cheap I think it's like 250 bucks on Amazon all time go to low if you have to
1:03:41
you know but see you that's that's another point you could replace this if you were in a pinch oh absolutely but if you have
1:03:48
something like a I'm not saying don't get a ISO temp or something like that but if you're somewhere in the middle of
1:03:54
nowhere and you need to get something breaks or freezes you can go to Lowe's and you can just replace this whereas if
1:04:00
you have something a little more fancy more 12vt style mhm you're going to have to wait I don't know who knows if they
1:04:08
have it but let's uh let's hop in the inside the van and uh I want to show you guys the inside
1:04:17
layout so uh yeah Tetra van show us show us
1:04:24
that yeah so I Tetra van has two really awesome
1:04:29
shower pans um we didn't use the fold down one which is the other unit I mean maybe they have more now but those are
1:04:35
they're really really cool but I wanted to again save space save weight
1:04:42
but still have all the amenities so I've got this I believe it's a 24 by 32 in on the inside Pan um it's
1:04:51
a little bit dir people have been going in and out so sorry about the mess here
1:05:00
um it's for it's for monetization purposes
1:05:06
yeah plug for KX nonprofit radio best radio station on the planet you can stream it online kx. RG that's good I
1:05:14
love that station oh it's the best I've been supporting them for almost 20 years um so I've got a I'm trying to remember
1:05:20
if it's 1 and a qu or 1 and 1/2 inch drain it drains very very very quickly to my I got a 30- gon graywater tank
1:05:27
underneath basically underneath the galley but it's strapped underneath the van to the um to the frame so um even
1:05:33
though it's shallow it drains super fast I've never had overflow issues the curtain I have for it has these strong I
1:05:39
believe it's Neo denium if I'm saying that right magnets yeah they snap really positively snap super tight stays super
1:05:46
tight the one of the other things I love about this is is the upper part of the
1:05:51
it actually flares it's a conical um shower curtain where a lot of the fixed units and we've done a lot of uh
1:05:57
built-in showers which are convenient because they're ready to go they're hard you know it's easy to clean but they
1:06:02
taper you usually put them on the side of the van and the Wall comes in so you're working in this tight space I love this because I've got really broad
1:06:08
shoulders and I have room I took a steaming hot shower last night cuz I was cold it was not as miserable as it is
1:06:14
today but I was like I'm taking a hot shower and it's super easy to do I've got tons of room and the really nice
1:06:23
thing is this is taking up almost no space like I I think I lost uh a little
1:06:28
over an inch and a half in height um or maybe just under 2 in and the overall
1:06:33
height when my van was done but I can make that sacrifice CU this will still clear a person who's 6' 3 in can still
1:06:39
stand in here um and I I creative use of space was really important so my shower
1:06:46
is effectively taking up almost no room one of the things that even though I lost height inside the van because I was
1:06:52
already doing that I doubled the amount of insul insation I normally put on the floor pan I have an inch and a half of actual insulation and then I have a
1:06:59
cavity with half the insulation so there's airs space I've got a what we call a Raceway or if it was in a boat
1:07:05
you'd probably call it the buge my plumbing and my electrical for running
1:07:10
to everything up front here actually goes under the floor and I have no joints no um no
1:07:17
Plumbing joints no electrical joints that are hidden but I have hatches underneath my fridge freezer underneath this corner where it is a 90° turn a
1:07:24
hatch under here and a hatch under here so I was able to actually save weight and money on electrical wire because I
1:07:30
didn't have to go up and all the way over to get to the other side I just went under the floor and um it actually streamlined a lot of things but it cut
1:07:37
down my cost and my overall weight CU every ounce and every dollar counts yeah
1:07:42
yeah and then for the kitchen galy uh what type of sink do you have well I see
1:07:48
you got the dtic cfx that's huge oh man yeah let me put my house slippers on here um so so 75 L dtic cfx um Dual Zone
1:07:57
fridge freezer so you can have two fridges two freezers a fridge and a freezer control it by bluetooth it has a Wi-Fi connection which I've actually
1:08:03
never used um super super cool the top loading is really efficient because when it's open heat doesn't fall inside if
1:08:10
I'm opening my front loading fridge I'm going to let heat in it's immediately turning on after I open it if I'm rumaging around in there it's going to
1:08:16
be running for a while to make up for it but this thing I don't really have that issue if I got to rummage around a bit and they got baskets that come out so
1:08:23
you think oh it's like Tetris I'm stacking on my stuff I got to fight it getting food out and moving things out of the way not my experience at all it's
1:08:29
really super easy to get to things and again if even if I spend some time with it open I'm not worried about heat
1:08:35
getting in so I've got a deep Basin I got a little matching cover here I got a
1:08:40
couple things in there sorry about that um deep Basin single Basin stainless steel um sink it's a it's an in an Eco
1:08:49
channels brand I mean you can get them on Amazon um I don't we don't get everything on Amazon but there's a few things we like to get and I really like
1:08:56
these um commercial style sinks I used to work in commercial kitchens and having a wand is nice but it's another
1:09:04
thing to fail when you have a secondary unit um this is super simple moving Parts there's not really anything that
1:09:09
can go wrong here the spring um keeps it taut so it's really simple but you have
1:09:15
that function where it acts like a normal faucet but then you also have a wand to direct um and it's it's really
1:09:21
great when I have my boiling hot um hot water tank running and I got to
1:09:26
clean up after all my cooking we use a lot of avocado oil so I got to break down oil all the time the uh this thing
1:09:33
is awesome and because it's deep um I can really get a lot of dishes done and I've got a little drying rack in the
1:09:38
bottom as well yeah show us the bed area and um you got the uh meal bags I love
1:09:46
these the meal bags are super cool because you can add more you can take
1:09:52
them away you can have empty space here um and and when you know you wear is it soft is it really going to support stuff
1:09:58
they're so rigid once you pop the sides up it's kind of incredible and if you're like me I like to bang my head on things
1:10:05
um you don't really have to worry about that but we could add a second one of these meal bags and then a single
1:10:10
opening meal bag to fill up this entire upper area to have a lot more storage or for a really short weekend trip and
1:10:16
wanting more room you know if you got a couple people and a big dog like we have um we can just take it out really easily
1:10:22
and I just love modularity you're not we're not missing out on storage or durability by going with this ultr light
1:10:29
stuff and they just make a really great product that's awesome um we have the flare space flare system so we bumped
1:10:35
out the side so we have a a transverse bed I mean you know you're sleeping sideways rather than longitudinal and um
1:10:43
you know if you in a sprinter normally unless you're incredibly short you cannot sleep sideways they're just too narrow um but if you go longitudinal you
1:10:50
lose a lot of space and again space and efficiency was really important so we have the flare flare space flares and we
1:10:57
have um their bed kit so I have the corrugated um plastic bottom panels I think they support 250 or 350 lbs a
1:11:04
piece but I actually added additional structural support without losing any space kind of a part of my cabinet
1:11:09
system yeah yeah and I can I'm 5'10 I can sleep in the back with my arms above my head which I like to do um for
1:11:16
whatever reason and I'm super comfortable we've got we've got these overhead reading lights built in that are just touch and each side actually
1:11:23
has uh two you know dual USB port charging so you plug in your phone your
1:11:28
tablet what have you and you got all your controls right here everything's right here we got our party light remote
1:11:34
control we have our max air control our AC control um I really like these these real these touch dimmers they super
1:11:41
super cool um and you can just blindly reach in the night and hit it and it's going to turn on and then I have my my
1:11:47
diesel heat right there cuz a lot of times this stuff you might be in bed and be trying to control it so we just
1:11:53
centralize it for the sake of Simplicity but also make it it's within reach when you're lying in bed because we've been doing this a while we know it does and
1:11:59
doesn't work and we kind of got our ergonomics pretty well figured out thank yeah Logan thank you so much for the
1:12:04
tour for sure thank you guys tell everybody how they can find you we can find us um on Instagram Facebook and our
1:12:10
website is all van East Van East vast.com Van East on Facebook um we're
1:12:16
located in Central Florida reach out to us um I think there's links um in our on our website for our email as well as a
1:12:23
photo of recent builds we've done and the um Betty White who's listed for a lucky buyer out there check us out
1:12:30
van.com awesome Logan thank you so much for the tour appreciate you all right see you be easy we'll do
1:12:36
[Music] it you like the
1:12:46
microphone all right this is a good place as all to uh
1:12:51
to introduce Eugene here so Eugene hello he played uh concert for us last
1:12:57
night two sets no you did like three sets yeah I think so anyway I have some footage I'm going to put in here this is
1:13:04
of uh the stage outside killer it's really cool so this is basically um a
1:13:10
FedEx truck it used to be FedEx truck and then someone else bought it to convert into his little RV vehicle and
1:13:16
then I bought it from him yeah so Eugene is a musician um as you probably saw from that clip and uh incredible
1:13:23
musician played for us last night it was awesome uh but the van's really cool too because not only does it have a stage
1:13:30
that folds out but it has a studio inside yes there's a music studio in the
1:13:37
back of this van so let's make our way towards the back and uh Eugene check it out give us a
1:13:42
[Music] tour all right so I guess uh so this is
1:13:48
the stage from the inside my buddy Ariel basso did turn that down just a little bit more
1:13:54
we can hear you really good uh this is the stage it opens up
1:13:59
and then uh this thing drops out with my website so people don't miss it uh inside is a little what's it called uh
1:14:06
plexiglass sheet that every time I have a new song release I stencil it and spray paint it and change the name of
1:14:12
the song so right now it says surrender sometimes freaks people out but um then
1:14:18
there's lighting inside so it lights up at night my my buddy Ariel basso did this art piece it's really awesome
1:14:24
and uh got the guitar holder here this is the seat that has some it has some storage underneath holds some musical
1:14:30
stuff this is my mixing board that comes out and it flips on the other side so I have all the controls uh this is the
1:14:36
Bose uh L1 Pro that is on a I might as well open this up show you guys how it
1:14:42
opens from here here's how that looks like nice and then I grab these uh these
1:14:49
hooks I'm going to spin around outside sure
1:15:04
okay so then we clip these hooks [Music] inside like
1:15:10
that we unlatch it this comes down like that I drill the
1:15:18
hole right here so the microphone stand goes here this then this thing
1:15:23
extends outwards the further it goes the better it is with uh with feedback I had some
1:15:29
feedback issues over here so I I made a double slider you keep talking entertaining and
1:15:34
we got a little Indie over here keeping us
1:15:39
company yeah and this is how we make money right Indie that's how we buy your
1:15:48
food no but this stage at night time is just yeah at night time it looks it's really sick at night and I have a little
1:15:54
peephole here so before I I come out to make sure that uh I'm not going to hit anyone in the
1:16:00
head that's actually ad door people yeah oh the artwork up here yeah it's
1:16:06
really awesome so the photo I got of you is killer because it's got a reflection of you at night time so this is actually
1:16:13
black at night time you can't see it but it's like this really cool
1:16:18
nice all right let's uh we'll put it back in and uh bring us back
1:16:25
inside yeah all right all right all
1:16:31
right and just like that the stage gets
1:16:36
closed and less time than it takes for the police to respond to the complaint
1:16:52
calls all right now let's make our way towards get the water off the camera to the
1:16:58
music studio so yeah looks like we got awesome kitchen Galley over here to the
1:17:03
right well awesome it's like as as basic as in functionality it's like the
1:17:08
kitchen is the least of my wores killer and uh yeah obviously visuals
1:17:15
it's uh it's my not my my strong suit plus we're doing some Renovations here so it looks really ugly right now but uh
1:17:21
this is I just installed this TV over here which uh which comes out like this which is great so when I'm in bed this
1:17:27
is a Murphy bed that comes down and it fits in this area and so this little
1:17:33
table it actually slides out and it slides out over the bed also and then I made a little custom pop up thing cuz
1:17:40
before it was like this and then I kept getting shoulder pain so I thought I need to have something that's slides out
1:17:45
and yeah this is how I record stuff I have just uh one microphone essentially
1:17:51
I do my vocals well that's uh a problem I have um a quilt behind the bed
1:17:59
and it's it's pushing the bed out a little bit I got you so yeah this microphone I do for the vocals I usually record vocals standing up and then also
1:18:06
the then I bring it down for the guitar I record it here's the studio do all the basic stuff here and then I send it off
1:18:12
to get mixed and mastered and get it sounding 20 30 50% better than what what
1:18:17
I'm capable of doing on my own and then yeah I release songs right
1:18:23
now uh on average every 3 months 2 to 3 months and we have this thing called the
1:18:29
genie Club where I have a 36 active paying members who fund 100% of the
1:18:35
songs that I release and the goal is to get it to um One release per month so
1:18:41
we're about 80% of the way there and it's going to be exciting and then we're
1:18:47
going to have bigger bigger goals first first step one song per month that way those Spotify algorithms
1:18:54
can take notice and uh yeah love you and for the music nerds
1:18:59
out there uh may have a sure um broadcast style
1:19:06
microphone yeah that's the same one that Rogan uses in Michael Jackson used and uh most podcasts are on that mic it's
1:19:14
versatile got some Mackie uh yeah although I think I'm due for an upgrade cuz they start to crack a little bit
1:19:20
when I when I pump it out a little bit then an audience interface audience
1:19:26
id44 uh it's a British company heard good things about it so I bought it uh you know MacBook that's
1:19:33
pretty typical and uh Reaper um dah heck yeah thank yeah any other cool
1:19:41
things uh cool things other than the whole van itself oh you this is a this is that new
1:19:48
fan that I installed okay and but because in the installation we already have the the ceiling up so we had to
1:19:54
bolt it down so to cut these holes so because it was so ugly I decided to make my own and I I I did this yesterday um
1:20:03
fan cover which is going to go it's not fully done but it's going to go like this to cover those ugly holes mhm and
1:20:08
it's going to have some storage over here for my remotes and then this thing is going to be on a little hinge so it's
1:20:13
it's going to look a little bit more friendly all right than it currently does one thing at a
1:20:20
time awesome well your jeans tell everybody where they can find your music and you uh Eugene dasm music.com I also

components there's electrical components um there's you know the max fan ventilation there's water
1:21:59
pumps uh the most important part of this list is the tools so there's a tool
1:22:04
section and it is awesome so it's all these tools that I use to do the vaned conversions they're mainly specialty
1:22:10
tools like wire strippers PEX a crimpers the riv rivet plus nut Riv nut it's a
