so for me there's always one van at a show that's just like we got to do a

tour to that van so you guys are going to be really happy about this uh Troy tell us uh who you are what your company

first first van this is the proof of concept that we've uh took about 6 months to build it's a 2016 Ram promas

118 wheelbase this is basically the shortest both height-wise and lengthwise that you can you can buy in the proas

models and we've tried to do everything that we possibly can to not only make it aesthetically pleasing but then add a

lot of engineering elements to it so it it gets everything that you get in some of the bigger Vans but in a smaller

package that feels really homey um so we'll start up top um we have a 7 1/2

gallon solar shower which has a breakaway here so I tried to make everything as modular as possible if you

ever need to replace anything or do anything to it down the road has a breakaway here the 72 gallon water tank

gives you 4 4 minutes of gravity fed shower time and it also is just an extra you know storage for water in general

it's got a 5x5 commercial TX deck up top um that commercial TX deck is accessible

with a ladder on the side that we can go check out later and then it's got 260 W solar panels up top that run all the

internal systems um the the actual panels themselves are on commercial grade hinges so they can be adjusted um

depending on what your location is if you wanted the efficiency of those panels and they also ask is is back rest

so when you're up on the deck you can actually have two lounge seats with your with your panels themselves um and then

as we come into the into the van all the tables on the outside are very easy and then each one

van um everything inside this van is built of Cedar the only thing that's not Cedar is the tabletops just because you

need some sort of hard wood to be able to do that with so you have the butcher block top SE uh top all of this outside

framing that you see is actually the skeletal structure of the the frame itself so you don't have a lot of weight

because one Cedar Cedar's uh bug resistant it's very strong as far as the structural integrity of it but it's

extremely light so you can build this whole thing the inside of this whole van outside of the batteries and the water

is only 650 lb so that's the only thing that I've added to the inside of the actual van um and then as we go up into

the van so we've got your nice all these are

accessible so we keep different spices in here and this was kind of an idea back in the day with my grandfather he

was always keeping his nuts and bolts and everything in there um we have storage at here plates we normally keep

food in this area um this is real brick backsplash halfin slic brick and uh one

thing that one of the main features of this van that I wanted to make sure is the accessibility to your electrical

unit so each one of these panels is design individually and is controlled off of rib nuts so each one of these rib

nuts can come off I can disassemble all three of these independent panels within 22 minutes so I after I've timed it out

and that way so from beginning to end underneath we'll show the bed in a little bit when it goes up you basically

have access to your entire electrical system so if anything goes wrong down the down the road and you need to take one of these panels off to whether you

need to replace something or if you have something that's burned out or if you just want to add something if I decided

I want an additional plug or I needed more electricity here I can pull these panels off and access everything

underneath we'll open up this bed so this is a this is a standard twin bed

here when this comes out and extends out it extends out to just under a fulls

sizee bed so that situates there and we can have and that becomes your fulls

side on the outside so the reason that I built it that way as well so it's modular so it has a split unit so this

is a removable weather stripping on the inside so you can take that weather stripping out and still break away that

panel and we have some uh insulation in there guys so that's that's what you're seeing Y and we can pull that out for

you so you can actually see out there you go so and that one on the outside opens up as well so if you have that

exposed the reason that we place this window here is so when you're using the max fan that's actually drawing air

across your entire body so it it allows you to keep a little bit more cool and then underneath this bed

show so this bed is the main storage underneath so we keep this is where we keep a lot of our bedding our pots our

pans any Adventure stuff that we need over here we have a secondary water tank I'll run you through the plumbing here

in a little bit um and then this is the entire electrical system so we have the 260 W panels that are upstairs that runs

a 200 amp hour battery with mppt charge controller 3,000 WT Peak Inver pure sin

wve and that's the 12vt breaker box that basically runs the LED lights the water pump um all of the switches over here

everything is on onoff switches so nothing is drawing power until you call it to draw Power um and again storage

you know anything tools anything that you need along the road and you have access to everything it's able to

here actually look at that that's a cutting board that slides in place and doesn't move around at all situate that

so again trying to keep everything modular everything on here is on Quick Connect so we have six gallon six gallon

water tank here the secondary six gallon water tank is here and again everything's on quick connects so this

dummy so that doesn't drip that's just a dummy just so it stays in there in place same thing with this one up here so if you see a secondary braided cable that

with the same bib could basically plug into this braided cable here which plugs

that goes outside so a lot of the times if we go to the beach or if we need to wash off anything or if we do want you

easy possible yeah this little dummy connector is just great that such a

great idea and that was because basically every single time I was you know taking it on and off it was dripping water on me so I was like I got

to come up with a simple solution for that and then when it moves on to the gray water tank we have dual drainage so

you can either decide to go into your gray water tank when you're trying to be stealth or you can divert it and go out

the wheel well so a lot of the times we're using things like Dr brers or something that's you know

environmentally friendly so spilling out for instance in a situation like this when you're going into the dirt as long

as it's something that's not you know going to poison the environment it's not an issue and if you are a place that you want to be stealth some places have

regulations or if you just don't again you want to be stealth in a parking lot and not you know have the water dumping

out the bottom of the van you can just easily go into the gray water tank and again this quick connects

off just by rotating that and now you can pull your gray water tank out and place it back in it's

excellent and then up here we got the standardized sink I tried to make make it as deep as

possible and you can regulate the PSI you know underneath depending on what

here this is my backboard the reason that it has a curvature not only for the aesthetic reason but it also allows me

to look out my rearview mirror and see directly through and there's no blind spots within the entire vehicle um and

then there's one thing but we'll see how the light responds to it but so there's one thing at night we noticed that we

would dim the LEDs down all the way down and even in the middle of the night it's still too much light so because it was

too much light and we wanted basically like a little bit of a uh of a nightl at night um we decided to add this little

additional light which is kind of a decorative you know it's a decorative uh

decorative NightLight that's based on the same type of ball jars that we have over here and that allows and this is

also on a dimmer so so we can dim this way way down so in the middle of the night if we need to turn on a light and

what we'll do is sometimes you have plants to like herbs if you want those plants to have more sunlight or they're

not getting enough exposure on the outside from being in you can actually take these and magnet them to any part

of your van so traditionally we do it on the hood just so we don't drive away and forget about your plants on the back of the car but that's been very popular

people love that little magnetic garden and it adds a little bit of life to the van you can see we like the brick we

like the exposed wood and um you know you got to have got to have some sort of life other than yourself and your van

um but so this van behind us is Ivan it's our first van and we built this when we were living out in Southern

we're building our vans out of yeah temporarily and um we're at this show here at peace love and vans and we've

here behind us this is Ivan yeah Ivan was our first so Ivan is a uh 2019

Mercedes sprinter with a 170 wheelbase on it 2014 2014 that's right

2014 yeah so this was a passenger van we actually bought it in Florida and then flew in from California and Road tripped

it all the way back to California with a blowup mattress and a bucket and a cooler so that was our first like van

life experience and then we got to California we ripped out all the seats it had it was a passenger so it had all

the seats in it and then literally like we pulled in Bobby pulled all the seats out the walls out and we started working

on it the minute we got to California so that was kind of like our first experience like into van life was the

blowup mattress and everything and we're like oh we made it we're van lifers you know we're living on the floor of our van on an air mattress and it was like

the best road trip cuz it was just like our first introduction to like this the world of Van life and then we got back

we kind of had some ideas of what we wanted to do because of that trip one big thing definitely was a an actual

toilet after having a bucket so um all of our vans so far have had an actual

full bathroom in them um not because we want them because most of our clients have ended up being solo female

Travelers yeah and they all want a bathroom to go in and shut a door or a curtain like no one wants to sit in the

middle of their on their toilet yeah like you have like a dedicated space exactly and that's been a big thing cuz you know some

people don't care but a lot of our our people do cuz they're bougie you know they want their toilet in a room you

know so you got a bougie van you got to have a full bath yeah exactly you're not bougie if you don't have a bathroom

so you want to hear like kind of some of the features in this or you just want to look at it no start to finish so the the

first thing I walk in this is kind of so one thing I really like about these type of builds so you kind of have like

Adventure van and like this style is this is It's like a home so you'll

you'll have these little nooks that it's like for example like this is like a

defined space it's kind of like separate from over here but yeah so it's like a bar this is yeah our coffee space Wine

Bar kind of set up and then this was a a feature that was added a little bit later but um and it was kind of

interesting cuz her daughter was moving out and wanted to get rid of this thing and it fit perfectly in here so that's

why we put this in here and she added some color to go with that to make it so Ivan's typically been black and white

and then with this color she added a bit of yellow and it just really kind of spruced the place up everybody loved it

too everybody's like oh I love that microwave it's literally and my daughter just like you want this I'm moving and

it's like the big feature in the van now you know but that's kind of how it works you know just it's just so Random like

what it feels very cozy it's like a very cozy feel yeah we wanted it to feel like a house cuz when we first built it we're

like oh we're going to travel we're going to live full time in it like we kind of had that vision and then um we

just started getting busy building Vans and so we actually didn't have a chance to do that you know we took long trips

but we never actually lived in it for more than two month two months was the longest sweep yeah a couple months we

stayed in it actually while we waited for a new house to close but um this one has the pantry which um a lot of bands

have nice a pull out Pantry in them you know for all your GR groceries actually our other build she keeps like her

bathroom supplies in here this I know well the way he did the cabinet doors

they were too thick for a lot of the locks just the way it's configured so we just we actually had nothing and then we

went around a corner one day and this thing went flying out we're like oh no yeah so he put that in same with the

um but um we're van builders in Central Florida we're in Melbourne Beach we've been doing it for a while uh I used to

build house boats that's kind of how I got into this um right now I got a 2500 Sprinter short wheelbase we wanted to do

a really light weight utilitarian but cozy and lots of amenities type build

like have all the things but have the space be ultra light fuel efficient one of the way ways that we're able to achieve that is with the ecoflow system

now one of the things I love about it first and foremost is it's less work for me I mean I just plug it in it's done

pretty much um another really really really neat part about it is the math like I'm a gear nerd I really like the

math it's a 48volt battery system so um effectively you're using less copper few

electrical components cuz lower voltage means a lower current draw which means you can go with smaller copper so I cut
