1:30
hey everyone welcome back to the shop it's been a while since we did a live stream and have an awesome live stream
1:36
for you today I didn't make it too scripted but I there's a lot of in-depth questions that you guys have asked in
1:42
the comments and it's time to go through them so this is a little bit about uh
1:48
what we're going to go through today and we're going to get into some detail so if you're interested in these topics
1:53
stay tune the whole live stream we're going to cover all of this um but as you guys know you can come back anytime and
2:00
uh check out this video but let's go through what is what we're going to be talking about so answering your
2:08
comments so Bradley uh four days ago asked this question and it's very good and it's
2:16
kind of going to be the spotlight of this live stream and it's talking about uh adding a solar
2:23
controller um it's essentially how am I going to wire My Links distribution box so that it safely
2:31
runs all this stuff uh so we're going to briefly talk about that um in just a
2:37
minute and we got an example down here so what I'm going to do is uh I say
2:43
briefly this is going to take a while so this will be the main chunk of this live stream um essentially how to safely wire
2:50
a links distributor so that you're not going to damage any of the devices connected to it such as solar controller
2:57
DC todc charger the links uh distribution box itself inverter and
3:03
mainly the RTX unit um that he's going to be connecting to this
3:08
possibly so Bradley perfect timing for this question because we're going to go into it in depth um I've got a couple
3:16
examples and then we're also going to go over here on the drawing pad and I'm going to I'm going to try to draw
3:24
out your question and make a U
3:30
try to provide a good answer for you um I think I know exactly what you're talking about but that's the big thing
3:35
for this uh live stream oh hey Nick how's it
3:41
going it's great meeting you at Adventure van Expo and I actually have your question in here as well so you'll
3:47
see that coming up here pretty soon um but anybody that's joined in on the live stream feel free to ask any questions it
3:53
doesn't have to be related to what we're talking about uh kind of keep it van related if possible
4:00
um but yeah so Bradley's question is going to be the first thing we go over then coming on down we've got uh Nick so
4:08
here's your question uh concerning 8020 hardware and the website uh T nuts.com actually I do
4:15
want to try them but I forgot since our last conversation um about ordering some
4:21
stuff just to see if the quality is the same uh and if you guys haven't heard of this website it's essentially a kind of
4:28
offbrand a D20 if that makes sense I don't want to use the word knockoff because it actually might be pretty good
4:35
uh then below there we have a odd username but doesn't matter there was a
4:40
good question talking about can you add take two pieces of 8020 and bring them
4:47
together um I'm guessing like he says two 4ot long pieces um into 8 foot so we'll talk
4:55
about that in a second uh Adventure wagon so l uh we met up again at Venture van Expo
5:02
uh gave me an update on his build so glad to hear that's going really well um
5:08
part three of the adventure wagon I've filmed it because it's finished in here
5:13
but I've not edited it's going to be a minute because I still have to finish uh
5:18
the water system and the panels for this so um yeah we're going to get back into
5:24
that and then uh explore the 50 was asking about where am I putting the
5:31
shower head controls so we'll talk about that um this needs to be need to move
5:39
this up here there we
5:58
go
6:09
let's see here got to figure out what my computer's doing I copied and pasted
6:16
something it's going to mess up my flow all right shower and head controls uh
6:21
somebody was asking they looked at the video tour of the van um that I have and
6:27
I didn't show the shower heading controls so I'll show where we're going to put them and my little uh thing here
6:34
was to draw that my little reminder okay all right then we got
6:41
John I'm curious about sourcing eurospec appliances to keep the whole system DC
6:48
uh we're going to answer that floring Scott Scotty is talking about
6:54
um the woven stuff that they have on pontoon boats so the first thing that came to my mind the woven vinyl and the
7:00
new kind of hot item right now which is two te 2 floring we'll talk about that
7:06
uh then maybe briefly talk about the lawn seal um and then yeah seating somebody
7:13
was asking where the flip and fold seat came from and then I've got a couple options here then we're going to close
7:19
it out with uh talking about the DIY van build cheat sheet and Van Builder HQ blog and the most exciting news is that
7:27
Odyssey custom vans the van behind you if you guys have been keeping up with the channel it's currently officially
7:32
for sale um again the uh plumbing system we're finishing it up and then the
7:38
panels for the rear uh but you guys will see that live kind of come to an end and then it'll be ready to go
7:44
for uh whoever is interested in purchasing it all right let's kick it off uh let's
7:51
see here check the
7:58
chat yeah okay all right so the first
8:04
question we have is uh from Bradley he says uh thanks for the video
8:10
if I have my solar controller connected to one of the four links distributor
8:15
terminals if you guys don't know what a links distributor terminal is it is this
8:20
box right here so you may have seen uh this box used when I'm doing the
8:26
van builds we used it in Thomas's van we also used it in the transit behind me that's for
8:33
sale uh so this distributor it's a simple uh it looks complicated but it's
8:39
very simple so I'm going to go entry level DIY as far as how I explain this
8:44
because some people have no idea what this product is or how it's used and
8:51
essentially uh not to undermine it any way but it's a kind of a glorified bus bar it is a positive bar and a negative
8:58
bar that you can uh add fuses in between to create circuits uh fusible circuits
9:05
to keep everything nice and safe what's nice about it or convenient about it is
9:11
that you can just buy one Bo or one uh
9:16
distributor and be able to take care of not having to buy individual bus bars
9:23
you know label labeling them or like buying a red one or a black one uh getting covers for it so stuff doesn't
9:29
accidentally short on it it's a nice professional looking solution um
9:36
that you can use it is expensive but remember it's an all-in-one solution you have your bus
9:42
bars you got a cover and then you have four uh circuits that you can put in
9:48
there and this is for high amperage
9:54
devices I mean you can use it for anything but you know uh what we're
9:59
going to be going over is this is used for uh inverters um DC todc Chargers stuff like
10:08
that so Bradley has a links distributor and he's wanting to know if
10:15
he can safely add the RTX 2000 um to the same
10:21
terminal that the solar controller is using now that's what I'm assuming this
10:28
is this is asking so I'm going to read it through one time and then I'm going to
10:34
go and start to draw and uh answer this question so he wants to know if uh let's
10:43
see here my four links distributor terminals will be taken up by a solar
10:48
controller that's 80 amps um that part's interesting to me
10:53
because I'm wondering what solar controller uh is an 80 amp solar controller typically you have like 2 30
11:00
amps 220 amps maybe a 40 amp so I'm I'm guessing it's maybe 240 amps or
11:07
something like that um and then he has uh two dcddc Orion so that is a victron
11:15
component so it looks like
11:23
this so you's got two of these and
11:31
then uh with an 80 amp Mega fuse and then he has a uh DCd uh
11:38
[Music] distribution and an inverter okay and one of the channels is an inverter so
11:44
I'm going to draw this out and I'm going to figure out um going to draw out what I think uh
11:51
this is talking about so we've got our drawing pad over here and we'll start going through this and remember if you
11:57
have any questions I'm going too fast um just let me know so the first thing we
12:04
have is the uh we have the links distributor
12:17
itself so this is links distributor and let see let me see if I
12:25
can I can make this so you guys can really understand it
12:33
okay there's link distributor and then on the this side we've got a positive
12:39
and then we've got negative over here make my face a little bit
12:47
smaller and then on this back side we've got the positive going out the negative
12:55
going out so this is the positive coming in and the negative so this is power
13:00
coming in and this is our
13:07
ground so we'll just make this positive okay and then inside
13:14
here we've got our
13:20
bar we got our second bar and then we've got our
13:27
studs and then in the in the middle here this
13:36
is our place this is where the fuses go and these are Mega
13:44
fuses I'm going to show you what a mega fuse is if you don't know what a MEAP fuse
13:52
is okay so you got those four areas so let's go down to let's go back to the
13:57
computer and let's check
14:03
out the mega fuse so this is what a mega fuse looks
14:08
like it's pretty big I don't think I have a actual example
14:17
maybe I think I've used them all in the van anyway it's a big fuse
14:26
um and they're made for high amperage so there's a variety of ones that you can have like 100 amp 200 amp 300 amp type I
14:33
think 300 amp is the biggest one that I've used all right so that is the
14:40
uh that's what we're working with all right the next part of his uh
14:47
question he has let's see what he's
14:54
got so he has a solar controller of 80 amps so this first one trying to figure out
15:02
how to draw this here so let's do let's do it
15:09
in maybe blue so this one is 80
15:21
amps okay and so this one is going to be
15:26
our so this line coming out from
15:42
here this is going to be our let's see what is it solar controller I keep clicking the button on
15:50
this
15:57
pin okay so we got our solar controller
16:03
coming out the first one with the 8m fuse he's got two DC todc Orion with an
16:08
80 Mega fuse a DC distribution box with a 80 amp
16:16
and an inverter with a 400 Mega
16:27
fuse
16:34
again I'm just assuming what he's talking
16:41
about okay so the first one let's just call this the DC to DC circuit and we
16:48
get 80
16:57
amps
17:02
I'm going to come back to that one we'll just kind of slowly build this uh and then we have
17:09
a inverter 400 amp and I'm going to put the inverter over
17:25
here okay
17:31
so my guess a DC distribution box okay okay okay okay so he has two two DC so
17:39
this one is 2x so he has two DC to DC's coming off of this
17:45
one so I'm assuming he has something like
17:51
this and then this third one is going to be a
17:57
DC distribution box and I kind of call that
18:03
a uh like a sub
18:12
panel sub panel this is DC to
18:27
DC and so this right here these boxes are going to be your alternator
18:34
charging so let's see if I do
18:45
alternator so think of those as your alternator charging the sub panel I'm assuming this is where uh he has wires
18:54
going out for the van so you you've got you know
19:00
vent fan
19:05
lights vent fan lights um
19:13
USB 12vt
19:23
okay so a sub panel and this sub panel is 8
19:34
amps okay so I I'm pretty sure this is what the setup looks like there's an inverter over
19:42
here we get a big inverter so if it's a 4,000 amp I'm
19:50
guessing this is a 3000 watt
19:57
inverter and then we got a solar controller over
20:08
here okay I think this is what it look I think this is what the layout looks like
20:13
so we've got one two three four hold I got this fancy tool
20:26
here there we go so we've
20:31
got one 2 three and four those are our fuses and these are
20:38
the different circuits we have we have the solar controller circuit coming off two DC to DC so that's a that's a
20:46
x so two DC to DC Chargers a DC distribution subpanel and
20:53
then an inverter and this is almost exactly
20:58
uh what I have in the van that U is behind me so let me
21:06
move get my cursor back
21:11
here I'm G move my face over
21:19
here okay so the question is he wants to know
21:25
how is he going to add a
21:30
a dtic RTX he wants to add a dtic RTX 2000 uh to the solar this uh solar
21:40
charge solar controller circuit all right my first my short
21:47
answer is no you can't do that the reason I say you can't do that is because you don't want the ability for a
21:54
short to back feed across the circuit and risk damaging your RTX unit unit now
21:59
how would that be possible because it's fused so the way that that's possible is
22:05
uh so I'm going to take this right here and I'm going to zoom in we're g to go one more
22:15
over so here's your fuse this is your mega fuse this is your 80
22:24
amp and then let's just say over here we've got the uh
22:29
solar controller all right and I don't
22:35
recommend doing this but I'm going to draw it just for an example and I'm going to make it red for
22:42
bad so let's just say we wanted to add the
22:53
RTX uh to the circuit and you would probably say well
22:58
Nick what's the problem it's a 8m fuse and if the solar controller pulls too
23:04
much and it blows the fuse no big deal uh if the RTX blows a fuse no big deal
23:09
well the problem is it's not
23:15
about uh the problem it's not about this fuse being blown the problem
23:21
is this right here what happens is if this uh if this
23:29
fuse let me see if I can erase this the oh my gosh Come
23:39
on there I hit the wrong one so I'm I'm erasing it right we broke the fuse the
23:44
fuse is blown the problem is the power to the circuit's blown but
23:52
with solar there's a positive and negative over here and there's a PO
23:57
potential now this is extremely rare but there's a potential for it
24:04
to uh feedback across um the wrong
24:09
PIN come
24:19
on so this right here is the problem and there's a potential for it
24:24
to come across here and feed back because your RTX is uh remember this is
24:31
the positive side and your RTX is is grounded over here as well
24:39
so it's just not a good way to do this the they're both they're technically
24:46
both protected but not really in the case of a fault so I would not do this so the
24:52
solution I have if we go back here
24:58
and let's look at
25:11
our
25:20
H there we go so the solution I have is you've
25:26
populated all these C and you're like oh man I forgot I want to add RTX but I don't have enough
25:33
circuits so don't compromise your circuits by adding more to it that's not the right way to do it there is an easy
25:39
way to add one more circuit to this and I'm going to show you how to do it so I did the same exact thing to mine so
25:46
let's go back over to the computer and I'll show you the solution so right here
25:51
let's zoom in so if you guys can see this right here this is
25:59
a uh terminal fuse so they're designed to go on top of
26:04
battery terminals uh to fuse that line coming out but you can repurpose a
26:09
terminal fuse as an additional circuit on these ends because if you're just
26:14
using the distributor as a bus bar and not part of like a victron system you
26:19
can just take these ends and now you can repurpose them what I'm doing for this
26:25
is I'm using uh for my subpanel it's actually coming out of this and this is a 100 amp uh fuse right
26:34
here so let's go to let's go to Amazon and look up terminal
26:42
fuse so I'm going to get up here let see terminal
26:53
fuse all right this is what the terminal fuse looks like up close
26:59
so one goes over the stud of the battery and then you can put a fuse on top of it
27:05
just like that now it's 22 bucks for the terminal holder the fuse holder you have
27:10
to buy the fuse separately and what I did and see where
27:17
am I so I just put it right here let me show you where I got that
27:22
idea so if you go to YouTube and you go to
27:31
uh let's see come
27:36
on and you go to uh I gotta get this out of the way go to explores
27:42
dolie YouTube page and the uh this video is how to add a space or two the victron
27:48
links distributor and so this is a great video he goes through taking the
27:54
distributor showing you the two ends and then showing you where you can take the terminal fuse that you just bought and
28:01
adding that additional circuit uh to the end of it so just like that so it's just a continuation of your
28:09
your bus bar so to kind of end this pretty quick
28:14
I just wanted to let's just go back to the computer okay so if you guys want to take a
28:20
screenshot of that all we all we want to do is we want to come over here to the positive
28:28
in and this is where we're going to have our terminal
28:35
fuse we're going to add a terminal fuse over here that's going to be our positive and then we're going to wire in
28:41
a just a negative lead and now our dedic right here our
28:51
RTX 2000 we can connect
28:58
right there so now you're not changing anything on the distributor and you're
29:03
allowing it to you're adding an additional circuit safely so now this
29:10
one is I think it's supposed to be 80
29:16
amps so there you go all right last thing before we move on let's go back to
29:21
the computer let's look at the math so we have 80 amps for the solar controller
29:30
we've got 80 amps times two for the two DC to DC
29:37
Orion we've got 80 amps for the distribution
29:42
box and then we've got 400 amps for the inverter so right now that's 720 amps
29:48
that's okay uh but we need to
29:56
add so we need to add 80
30:06
amps let's move this out of the way okay so we need to add 80 amps
30:14
here and the math is easy because we have 720 plus 80 brings us to
30:22
800 amps now we're not pulling 800 amps the
30:28
whole entire time that's just our potential maximum with what we have for fuses so 800 amps is good because so
30:35
this is still okay it's still
30:42
okay because the it's a th000 Amp Max so
30:47
if you're looking at the distributor itself it's called The Links distributor 1,000 1,000 is because 1,000 amps Max
30:59
all right hope that was a uh good answer to that question I thought it was a great example because um you know doing
31:08
this and feeling safe about how you want to do it uh can be challenging so here's
31:14
something if you want to screenshot it to see how you could safely wire things
31:21
together uh we're going to go into the next question so we got
31:28
delete all this all right next question is up next
31:36
so you want to know if I ever end up ended up trying out the extrusions or Hardware from
31:42
t-nuts uh so let's go to the website so you guys know what I'm talking about again not affiliated with any of these
31:49
products but some good information for you so the first thing we're going to do is actually go back and we're going to
31:55
go to uh uh we're going to go to 8020 so I'll go back to the computer
32:01
here in just a second see
32:14
8020 okay if you guys haven't been to 8020 before again no affiliation but 820 has the luminum
32:21
extrusions that most people are using uh 15 series is typically
32:27
what we use to build Vans and it's going to look like this
32:33
stuff right here you can get the light uh version of this or the
32:39
heavy but if you notice um let's look up this 4302 this is a just a 90° angle
32:47
bracket for the 15 series it's $441 a piece um it is
32:55
precision uh p you know product very precise product but the question was have I
33:02
tried anything on this company's website uh for example like this is a 15
33:07
series insort inside corner bracket and it's a $1.95 so instead of
33:16
$441 uh we have something that is .95 so almost Le I mean less than
33:23
half the question is uh how how strong is it is a good
33:29
product um without using this the advice that I would have for these products
33:37
is oh zoom in a little okay okay I'll zoom in when I go back uh
33:44
let me get
33:50
uh so let's look let's look at these aluminum these
33:55
brackets so so this is this is what we're talking about see right
34:00
here now the reason I think it's okay to go with possibly this product and this
34:07
is only my assumption just from building all these structures for 8020 for me is overkill
34:15
for a van but the nice part about when you engineer things that are Overkill is
34:21
they're extremely safe because you know you probably could have used a quarter of the material
34:27
but by choosing something like 8020 you know you're just for Xing the strength
34:33
rigidity of whatever you're building so if you've ever worked with
34:39
820 and you're making a corner uh you're taking a
34:46
corner wonder if I can make an example of this
34:55
here all right this is my on the-fly example so don't be too
35:06
harsh all right so we have a piece of 8020
35:13
frame let's back up okay so right here you have uh two
35:21
pieces see I really need to let's see if I can pull this drawer out
35:28
and you guys can kind of see that so with this one angle what you use
35:33
these pieces for is they go right here like that and they they connect these
35:38
two pieces now this piece right here has a special
35:44
uh machined piece inside of it and if you have special equipment you
35:52
can do that for the everyday DIY you're not going to have that so this this is the method I always tell people to
35:59
do so imagine this is the outside of a box so you have an Ang angle here but
36:05
remember you also have a piece of metal uh angle
36:10
here where you're of course I picked the bar that was way too
36:18
big let me find a smaller one all right we're going to get this
36:25
right
36:31
there you go already got one bracket and then we have two brackets here this
36:37
bracket is going to hold together the third piece of our box and
36:43
then right here where my pinky is there's going to be a
36:50
third 90 so like just like this so you
36:55
see there three pieces make up this joint and it's
37:01
extremely strong very very strong
37:06
so again you know I haven't tested it but it would seem to me that um you know
37:12
it won't be too critical to have something that uh may not be exactly 80/20 in this situation because um I've
37:21
done joints where because of the the space I was working in I could only use two
37:28
so by just having by having three I mean that's going to be a really really
37:33
strong joint so just something to think about if you're looking for an altern
37:39
alternative because you're on a budget it might be something to
37:48
uh to
37:53
buy cuz I completely understand that the 820 20 stuff is is really
38:00
expensive um last thing about 8020 it's expensive but for this van build that
38:05
I'm doing here this box on the left for the power and uh what's going to be made
38:11
for the water system on the right those are the only pieces that will be made
38:16
out of 8020 so the whole van is not made out of 8020 mainly consist of the adventure
38:23
wagon system flatl van Cove kitchen Galley bed system and then the
38:29
only 8020 components are the battery box and the water system so focus on those
38:37
being where you use the 8020 and it'll uh help you a little bit with uh
38:48
budgeting but yeah uh yeah thanks Nick for um talking about this uh web website
38:56
here just as more options to help out the DIY community on doing van builds um
39:03
it's just good to have other options for example and while I'm here there's
39:09
another question uh by this user talking about can you make two 4 foot pieces an
39:16
8 foot piece um and the way to do that
39:21
[Music] is uh these uh now this is uh let's see
39:26
here there's these pieces right
39:34
here so you can use these pieces to combine they slide in the channel and
39:40
then you could actually combine uh pieces together now I wouldn't recommend it I'll tell you
39:48
why and Nick I'm going to get right back to your question in just a second um this is why I would not do
39:55
that so the qu uh what the person was asking is can you take these two these
40:01
are two 4 foot pieces and join them together you can uh I just I wouldn't do
40:06
that unless you really really had to say for example you messed up on a cut and you just need to reuse it so you don't
40:11
have to buy a whole another stick so you can use those pieces I just showed you or you can drill and tap the
40:18
holes in here and do a uh
40:23
56-8 threaded hole uh and then twist the like this screw
40:31
them together but it's going to be hard to get it to where they perfectly line up again uh without slightly stripping
40:38
that threaded Rod you're going to use to bolt both pieces
40:44
together so it just makes it more complicated but there's uh it's possible
40:49
to use this type of hardware and you know join them together so there's that
40:55
question all right let's get back to Nick um where did I get the bamboo
41:00
plywood from okay good question so I got them from C
41:08
bamboo uh again not sponsored
41:14
but they're the they're about the only place that there are two places that I
41:19
wanted to purchase them purchase it from uh C bamboo had the best I guess
41:25
customer service um and shipping I think shipping cost
41:31
were uh was less with them and I just had more confidence of the package
41:36
getting to me in one piece because I've had a lot of stuff in this shop that I've gotten shipped to me and I've had
41:41
to fix some things some pieces were missing um some stuff was really beat up
41:47
and thankfully those pieces uh they came through let me pull this box
41:55
here what's cool about C is they'll send you
42:01
they'll send you a nice fancy box um see if I can find my here we
42:14
go so they send you these really nice fancy samples so you get a box looks like
42:21
this and then Inside the Box you're going to have
42:30
I'm going tell you why this is important here in a second you're going to have all their
42:35
products so they they get some flooring they got these two blocks right here and
42:41
I'm going tell you why it's
42:46
important um So when you buy when you buy bamboo you have uh carbonized
42:54
non-carbonized and then you have a vertical grain and then you have
43:00
another uh skew I forgot what it's
43:12
called let's see here so if you guys can see this there
43:19
is different patterns of bamboo uh that you can order and there's
43:25
different thicknesses and depending on uh the thicknesses that you have and
43:33
the orientation of your grain so this is a vertical grain so my challenge was I had Flatline
43:40
vanco components and I needed to match the grain structure from the bamboo so that when I got the van finished it
43:46
would look like you know everything was bought uh from one manufacturer and so I found out that the
43:54
carbonized which is a darker bamboo so if it's not carbonized then uh
44:00
it's it's lighter so carbonized is a darker uh and then the vertical grain
44:06
the vertical grain is how the grain is uh finished so it's the
44:12
appearance um so that was important and the thicknesses were
44:17
important because uh this it's very this is very expensive so I got two I got a 4x8 sheet
44:24
of plywood of this 3/4 and I got a 48 sheet apply with of the/ inch and
44:31
uh they're it's extremely heavy and expensive
44:37
so I forgot what the ballpark was that I I paid for it um this may not be
44:42
accurate but you know maybe for the two sheets uh like5 to $600
44:48
range and uh and I'm not sure if that was with the shipping um but yeah ni so oh yeah let
44:55
me I'm not sure on my screen there you go so it's a Cali
45:01
bamboo and you want to look at uh
45:08
bamboo and you want where is
45:13
it
45:21
hardwood let me go back here yeah yeah yeah let me find the uh let me see here let me find
45:28
it K
45:53
bamboo yeah that's the trick here on the internet is it's trying to figure out how you type it in to
46:00
find what you want I may have emailed a rep I know
46:06
what you're talking about I'm only seeing the uh see
46:23
bamboo there we go so go to their website Nick and in the
46:29
search box type in bamboo space plywood just like this and it'll come up so you
46:36
guys you can see right here let me zoom in so you can see from this that this
46:43
first one is natural it's vertical natural and see how white it is and then
46:48
over here this third one bamboo plywood uh vertical
46:54
carbonized that's the one that I got and that's the one that matches the Flatline
46:59
vanco kitchen Galley at the current moment and I say current moment
47:05
because uh they they I think they're changing suppliers at the moment so
47:11
they're look maybe slightly off so I can't guarantee that but at the moment
47:16
carbonized vertical carbonized is what I bought um so this one uh three 7 and
47:26
then this one to yeah so about that's about right that's what I said about 5 or 600 and I guess that was it without
47:32
shipping I'm not sure shipping changes so much
47:39
um gotcha cool yeah hope that helps out there's another
47:46
company but Cali seems to be I mean
47:52
they they will call you right back uh they're really hungry to to
47:58
sell all right let's move on to the next part and yeah if you guys have any more questions what we've talked about so far
48:04
just let me know uh Lyle was talking about the adventure
48:10
wagon uh catching up on the adventure wagon
48:15
video so I have like I said I have the adventure wagon video finished for the
48:22
van and here I'll pull this in so you guys can see a little bit of the
48:36
van go the cabinets so I
48:43
matched I matched these cabinets with the bamboo from Adventure wagon so
48:49
there's Adventure wagon bamboo there's flatl vanco bamboo and then on
48:55
the front that if you guys were at the Venture van Expo the front is the Cali
49:01
bamboo so they're all they're all
49:12
coordinated all
49:17
right and we'll do we'll do more uh towards the van here lately or and then
49:23
in the future live streams kind of get back to this right now let's see yeah so Venture wagon
49:32
Venture wagon install video part three is going to be talking about finalizing the overhead panels and putting all the
49:39
finishing panels on there to cover all the the wire runs and stuff like that so
49:44
yeah that'll be a couple weeks until I get that one finished um shower head and controls this is a cool next question so
49:52
the question was where are you putting the head and controls so I'm putting the head and
50:00
controls in the sink nozzle so I've got an example here if
50:06
you have so this is the bad example which is usually the best example right
50:12
so this is what not to buy so I bought this um and it's hard to find out if a
50:18
supplier has these threads or not so you see these threads these
50:24
threads need to be half inch threads this one is some special uh size I don't know what size
50:31
it is but I know it doesn't fit what I need so if you have one of these in your van
50:36
and you want to have the pull down uh sink and you want to which I think you
50:41
should do is rep be able to unscrew this and screw in a shower wand for an indoor
50:50
shower so what you want to do is you need to make sure the what you
50:56
buy this so this right here this hose goes into this faucet just like
51:07
that and then this is what that head connects to and you need
51:13
to make sure that the threads here can have this style hose mounted to it
51:22
so this is the wash down hose that you see for boats uh this is the stainless till hose you see everywhere ADV van
51:28
shows um boat decks uh on Amazon for these wash down showers this is a/ inch
51:36
fitting so this is not a/ inch fitting and if you are looking for this
51:44
you need to find this half inch Union you can find it on
51:50
Amazon and that's going to allow you to take this
51:57
this is okay again this is a bad example imagine that this is the correct thread size the faucet and the van is correct
52:04
but I'm not going to pull that out so imagine this is a/ inch so in between
52:09
these two what you're going to do is you're going to buy this
52:15
product all right just look at the top piece here so this product has
52:22
a little selector button see that and that turns this valve on and off so
52:30
imagine that this actually fit this all right and now this is part of
52:35
your uh your sink so you can still use the hose wash your dishes but this port
52:41
right here is not engaged until you push this in or pull this out
52:48
and when you do that this bottom sprayer nozzle turns off and this side valve
52:53
opens so guess what's in the side valve the side
53:01
valve is where you're going to
53:06
take it's going you're going to take your shower hose and you're going
53:11
to screw it in here all right before you screw it in
53:17
you need to make sure see how this does not this does not have a o-ring in it
53:24
need to make sure you an
53:33
O-ring let's see there you go so you're going to screw this
53:38
on just like that and then now your shower head it's on coming out here and
53:45
then when you pull this it's now going to come out as a shower nozzle so to further show
53:52
you uh what this is like where did I put the shower
54:15
nozzle there it is you can have two types you can have
54:21
like a plastic one like this just a cheap plastic one there's nothing wrong with this or you can have this fancy
54:29
heavy duty brass chromed brass one so let's just take this and let's screw it
54:38
on this is why all these fittings need to be the same size so this one fits to
54:47
this all right so now you can see the full picture this is our
54:52
sink we want to take our indoor shower we open this up and now we can use this
54:58
wand right here to spray and take a shower so this right here is so this is
55:07
where the shower head and controls go so that is
55:13
answering explore the 50s question about
55:21
that all right moving on we have uh don't think I need to draw that I think
55:27
you guys got the point on that one if you have any questions let me know in the comments we can make another
55:33
video about it but we will be doing the plumbing coming up here uh very
55:41
soon um so John ask if I've ever ever
55:47
thought about sourcing uh eurospec appliances so I
55:52
keep everything DC um um the quick answer is when you
55:57
when you're building your DIY van uh or it can be a professional build it doesn't really matter
56:04
um you have to think about one repairability and access to components
56:11
if they fail and since the whole point is to travel be on the road um even be off
56:17
grid if you can't go to a store RV store or find it on Amazon you know of all
56:24
places easily uh let me back up if you're not
56:29
buying products to put in your van that you can easily replace such as 12vt items um save a 24volt
56:37
system you can find uh people to buy from but the problem is when you're in a pinch or you're out in the middle of
56:43
nowhere you know how are you going to resolve that issue without having to go back home wait for something to be
56:50
shipped or if a dealership doesn't have that part so if you keep things you know 12vt
56:58
but you keep them uh the appliances you buy such as you know your
57:05
fridges or any components in your van um you know put stuff in there that you can
57:10
you know you can find on the internet easy um and that are available in case
57:15
something you know happens so that's what I say uh so if
57:22
you have if you did your spec or uh it's
57:27
not just items uh you know come from overseas uh it can be 24 volt items or
57:35
48 volt items it's a level of complexity that if you're okay
57:42
with that level of complexity then you know keep doing what you're doing but if
57:47
you want something that's simple reliable and if your water pump fails you can go down the store the store like
57:53
a boat store and then pick up a water pump 12 volts pop it back in get back on the
57:59
road stuff like that um it's pretty much the best way to answer that next one was
58:06
on flooring um somebody said uh they make so Scotty said they make some woven
58:11
looking stuff they install pontoon Bates I've seen it in $200,000 builds so I'm
58:18
assuming that is 2te 2 again no affiliation um but two te 2 is pretty
58:25
awesome product I have not uh I've not purchased it or used it in a
58:32
van build yet um I already had the lawn seal purchased and the plan was to install it because it's blackcoin floor
58:40
and it went with the theme of the van kind of the dark bamboo tones and stuff like that but two te 2
58:48
product uh let's just let me show you I have a
58:55
sample like a a nice book here so this is uh camper
59:02
van uh their website the perfect fit company's uh website they carry two te 2
59:10
as a product and they have this uh sample book that you can order from
59:16
them um but it has all the samples in here
59:25
and this is the the floor so you can see uh you can actually see how thick it
59:31
is it's a little bit thicker than the lawn seill that I put in and what I wanted to do is I wanted
59:39
to use so for example you guys have seen robber Vans
59:45
uh this blue uh he uses that in some of the vans that I've seen uh I wanted to
59:50
use this right here because this one is kind of you
59:57
know Odyssey custom van colors this orange so check it out see it's
1:00:05
this really resilient vinyl um it is very expensive so it's probably twice
1:00:11
the cost of the regular lawn seal um you
1:00:16
know $8 to $900 without shipping so if that's what you're going
1:00:21
to have for your floor uh with this build the lawn coin is perfect
1:00:28
because as you can see there's only the entry area and then this back area is
1:00:33
really the only exposed area uh for the lawn
1:00:40
seal and I actually would what I want to do possibly on a future build or this
1:00:46
one before it sells is take this get this product and actually make mats so a
1:00:53
mat out of this product product for the pullout tray a mat over here and then a mat on the entrance just to provide a
1:00:59
little bit more protection so that is
1:01:08
uh that is uh that product that I think you're talking about
1:01:14
Scotty um and then we have another one that the video was very helpful that was my lawn sill install and they're
1:01:22
getting it next few weeks so hope that goes well seating the seating in the van the flip
1:01:28
and fold that you guys saw in the video is uh from a company called fredman seating and believe it or not the the
1:01:34
seat that's in this van is from not this year but last year's
1:01:40
Adventure van Expo and I purchased it because the uh onsite
1:01:47
because the manufacturer was shutting down uh temporarily to I think they're
1:01:52
retooling or something like that so you haven't been been able to get these seats um from Freeman in the last couple
1:02:00
weeks or actually this year so this quarter is when uh for my information
1:02:07
that's when the manufacturing plant got turned back on was this quarter and now
1:02:12
they're able to start fulfilling orders now what does that mean that means
1:02:17
that unless you placed an order they're fulfilling orders now so I don't think
1:02:23
there's any availability now I was retargeted by an ad from this company uh Finton Mobility saying they
1:02:32
had these in stock so I'm not sure about that again not affiliated with his
1:02:37
company but
1:02:42
uh I got a I think an Instagram ad that said that these this Fenton company has
1:02:49
these seats available in stock um I'm not sure so if you're interested
1:02:55
in these seats uh there's three places you can go the first one is Freeman
1:03:01
seating so this is the actual manufacturer of the seat that I purchased and the seat that I purchased
1:03:07
is a uh flip and
1:03:12
fold trying to see if I can find an
1:03:22
example space saber fold way um this is the this is the seat
1:03:30
but uh so these seats range in all kinds of different you know they're they're
1:03:36
like the ones on a bus so you know cheap vinyl bus seat then they go up to more
1:03:42
like the leather uh look which or black leather look is what I have then you can
1:03:49
add options like you can have a camo cover uh they actually make seat covers for the seats and then you can also add
1:03:55
a table like a stone and go table to the back you guys may have seen that in the video that one right there that
1:04:02
table uh which is really cool that it's multifunctional like that so that's fredman uh Suburban seats
1:04:12
that's another company and so they have these in stock but these are not the ones you
1:04:18
want uh the ones you guys probably want are not in stock they probably won't be in stock for a while so I'd say
1:04:25
uh I'm going to give you another option here in just a second I just thought about it uh and then Fenton
1:04:31
Mobility so while I just thought about this uh
1:04:37
Wilderness vans so Wilderness Vans has these
1:04:45
seats and I believe you're able to shop on their
1:04:50
website uh bed and seats and then you got these the broad Arrow
1:04:56
seats um the challenge with these seats uh is that I
1:05:04
think uh they are expensive but this does not include the arrangement for
1:05:09
shipping so that's something that's challenging with these because these are uh uh sold in Canada and you have to get
1:05:16
them shipped to the United States and that's the first thing I hear from people is the challenge of just getting
1:05:23
that shipping Logistics right in the cost but yeah broad Arrow again the cool
1:05:32
thing about broad arrow is these are the ones that lay out into a bed they do not
1:05:38
flip and fold out of the way um and there is a base I don't know
1:05:44
who's making this at the moment but there is a base that does swivel so it
1:05:50
kind of gets out of the way but these are going to be more Akin into the
1:05:55
Storyteller uh Groove Lounge it's kind of going to be the same concept so it's there but you you know
1:06:03
walking uh my opinion on that the aisle the way that you pass down the
1:06:09
aisle on the Storyteller is really tight so you kind of have that compromise of it folding out to a bed versus the flip
1:06:16
and fold where you regain that walkway uh space in your
1:06:22
van all right last but not least we're closing out the live stream here so if you have any questions make sure that
1:06:28
you guys ask those in the chat um before we head out here and that is the DIY van
1:06:35
build cheat sheet so if you guys are looking for a cheat sheet which is
1:06:41
essentially a Excel document of all the past um three years of my Amazon
1:06:47
purchases that I did for the shop I've taken those items I've organized them uh
1:06:52
into categories on an Excel sheet and that is what makes up the DIY van build cheat sheet there's all kinds of stuff
1:06:58
on there there's tools there's uh you know solar components and uh it's
1:07:06
convenient because it's an Amazon link uh it also helps out the channel but not only that it's just a way to kind of
1:07:12
gather your thoughts and look at products that I've actually you know vetted and used in the shop so you guys
1:07:18
don't have to it's all on that list DIY van build cheat sheet click on this link and you
1:07:24
can download this sheet completely free DIY van build sheet sheet van
1:07:31
Builder hq.com click on the link come straight to your inbox then don't forget while you're there to check out the blog
1:07:37
post so we've got a lot of great information uh more of these are coming out pretty soon goes over everything
1:07:44
from the flooring guide mattresses to buy uh designing camper van solar system
1:07:50
um you know roofs camper van lighting storage hacks and what's cool is uh you
1:07:56
know this is all the stuff from shows that we've been to uh it's stuff from that I've worked on in the shop for
1:08:02
example you know this phot over here on the bottom right is Thomas's roof and so
1:08:07
when you click on that article you can actually watch the video of me talking about that photos of his van um and just
1:08:15
a bunch of information that you guys can take your time look uh you know there's links to the
1:08:21
panels some information on the specifics and uh yeah just kind of help
1:08:28
guide you through the DIY van process and remember if you give up you can always call me to uh have your van
1:08:35
professionally built but not only that check in on VOR hq's YouTube channel get
1:08:40
on a live stream and ask me a question uh that's what I'm here for and speaking of Odyssey custom vans
1:08:47
I want to close it out here with letting you guys know that the van behind me is for sale so
1:08:54
we're going to hop on over to the website Odyssey customs.com and right now this is a page that's uh
1:09:01
kind of just briefly talking about uh the van and all of the systems on the van so
1:09:08
there's a ton of stuff on here um as far as details I'm not going to go through all of them you guys can hop on over
1:09:15
here look at all the details and again future live streams if you guys want to ask me any questions uh you can
1:09:20
definitely do that the final things that we are finishing on this van before I end the live stream today is the panels
1:09:29
for the uh offgrid system over here uh they're going to get finished and then
1:09:36
I'm going to be doing my signature uh frosted Odyssey custom Vans
1:09:44
logo on the Frosted acrylic over here on the left um just so you guys can you
1:09:50
know see all the components all the really detailed uh electrical work and how everything is displayed so if you do
1:09:57
want to show off your van I like to have that feature if not you know there's a light in there you can turn off but it's
1:10:03
just a you know I think the electronics of a van are really cool it's kind of like the inside of a computer over on
1:10:09
the right hand side we have our uh water system so what you guys will see in
1:10:15
future live streams as we kind of get back to uh normal here in the shop we're going to build an 8020 frame that's
1:10:22
going to house our 40-gon Norwest conversion tank as well as the Bosch 4 gon hot water heater and then once we
1:10:28
have all that put together we're going to put panels on both of these we're going to wire up our pump and uh finish
1:10:36
out the plumbing so when the panels are done the plumbing is finished we're going to
1:10:43
finish the tap of our W basto heater um
1:10:48
everything's ready to go and plumbed I just have the uh fuel line plugged off
1:10:53
because we were going to the Expo and I didn't want you know anything to leak because I'd already tapped into the fuel
1:10:58
tank so we're going to do that and then um on the back door here we
1:11:06
have I'm going show this is really cool so we have Flatline
1:11:16
vanco we have their tire carrier and then we have their uh I call it like their Adventure rack panel
1:11:26
so if we go to Van parts for the transit go to exterior and there's no
1:11:31
affiliation here uh I just uh this is kind of a flatline vanco build for me I
1:11:37
wanted to have all the products be Flatline van code because I think the Aesthetics and the way they look uh fit
1:11:44
the van really well uh oh thanks Nick um yeah you you
1:11:50
got to see the van so that that was really cool that was really cool that you got to to come out and actually see
1:11:55
it um but yeah the two products on the back of the
1:12:00
van uh is this tire carrier um which is kind of I want to
1:12:07
it's always it's it's sold out so you want to get notified if you do want this
1:12:12
um because this one is usually always sold out but the back of the van is going to
1:12:18
look like this uh so we're going to have the rear tire carrier let me zoom in we'll have the rear higher carrier on
1:12:24
the left and then on the right hand side we're going to have this uh Adventure
1:12:29
panel which you can put like a uh what is that like a roto Pack Is that the name of that um you can have bike mounts
1:12:36
you can do Max tracks so I'm going to put a set of uh uh Smitty Built tracks
1:12:42
they're not Max tracks um Smitty Built that I have in the shop we're going to mount those on there we're going to show
1:12:49
you how to do all that uh and then the last thing that I'm going to
1:12:54
do is I've got some really
1:13:00
cool topographical uh hopefully I picked the right one here
1:13:07
with the logo yep so you guys can see this right here this is a toppo vinyl
1:13:14
with Odyssey custom Vans logo and what this is going to do is this is going to
1:13:20
get upside down this is going to go on the sides of the B van so we got the
1:13:26
driver's side and then we got the passenger side and then on the front of the hood
1:13:33
so you can imagine right here where my head is we got the bump out windows so the awning windows and then the same
1:13:40
Topo pattern is going to be on the hood so you guys always see like the matte black hoods on the Mercedes sprinters
1:13:47
and stuff like that um we're going to do this topo map on the front
1:13:54
and it's going to be a really cool van guys it's going to look really nice you kind of got the arctic white you got the
1:14:01
black and white you've got the gray bamboo on the interior um and everything is solid as
1:14:08
rock uh one thing I wanted to mention about Adventure
1:14:14
wagon um uh I'm kind of a fan of their product just because of the the
1:14:20
robustness of it but when I was at Adventure van Expo uh you know is at
1:14:26
night time and usually all the vendors and everybody we kind of sit around a fire you know chat talk hang out and I
1:14:33
went back in my van to kind of shut everything off um for the night and uh
1:14:39
it was extremely quiet so usually when you're in a van you can kind of hear everything around you there's really not
1:14:44
that good of sound deadening um this van is uh it is it's extremely quiet uh
1:14:52
really blew me away I did not think that the layers of sound deadening the
1:14:58
thinsulate and all that would make that big of an impact but um it it shocked me
1:15:04
how quiet it was I mean it was like being in a sound booth so if you're worried about noise this thing is really
1:15:11
quiet um all right what do we got so Nick asked you know what I just realized I
1:15:18
don't have my browser chat window
1:15:24
so you guys actually can't see the questions um you can see them live now but not later so Nick asked what is my
1:15:30
what are my plans uh after the next band sales uh so right now I got a couple
1:15:36
things lined up there's some uh some oneoff custom work that wants to be done um uh with
1:15:43
some other people uh Thomas in a couple weeks is going to be coming in and we
1:15:50
need to uh he's actually getting the inhabit floor mats put in his van which
1:15:56
would be cool we'll actually get to see you know kind of what that looks like um so we're verifying a template on that so
1:16:03
we might put do a video uh just talking about the inhabit product kind of how everything's measured and
1:16:09
fitted um couple other things to his and then we may be doing a
1:16:19
uh another tetran shower install with a different product so this is the one
1:16:24
that drops down so that's that's a potential that may happen so you guys
1:16:30
can see that um as well as retrofitting a kitchen
1:16:35
Galley to incorporate that if you guys are already have a van but you wanted to figure out how to integrate that that
1:16:40
may be something coming up in the future um we've got the other
1:16:45
van uh so yeah I mean there's all kinds of things that can uh happen after this
1:16:52
van sales but right now the focus is to uh keep going with the channel answer
1:16:57
you guys questions keep this going uh get this van finished and then
1:17:05
uh yeah when this van is finished we're going to have an incredible video which will'll go through uh really all of
1:17:12
those components so if you go to the website and you look at the details of the van uh I think you really be um uh
1:17:20
amazed at what we what uh I was able to fit in here typically we got to you know
1:17:26
most vans come with a 26 gallon tank this van has a 40 gallon from a Northwest conversion so you don't have
1:17:32
to fill it up to 40 gallons but you have that capacity to uh add it if you want
1:17:38
to go in that long trip for like a week or two um typically you have a 2 gallon
1:17:44
hot water heater have a 4 gallon uh mainly because it really is not that you
1:17:50
don't really need a whole hydronic system all those are nice um but again I
1:17:55
want stuff that is simple so that let's say you're out on the road and just for
1:18:01
whatever reason the hot water tank fails you can go into Lowe's buy another one
1:18:06
for like 250 bucks unplug it plug it back in and be on your way probably in like half an
1:18:13
hour so it's it's things that are simple and easy to replace yes it's not as F
1:18:19
efficient as a you know diesel fired water heater what whatever um but you're
1:18:24
not cutting into glycol lines from your engine to have some you know a bypassed
1:18:30
system uh less complexity that's that's that's my goal for these Vans is
1:18:36
longevity safety less complexity um so that's a benefit the
1:18:43
other benefit is you have the INF floor shower pan so it's hidden it's there
1:18:49
when you need it though uh we talked about the uh the hose and stuff like
1:18:55
that on how you're going to take a shower so it's nice and simple [Music] um pullout tray that is bolted to the
1:19:03
chassis of the van it's not just wood screwed to the floor it's bolted through the van great eight bolt so you saw me
1:19:11
kind of riding it in and out when I was uh doing that thumbnail for the video um
1:19:16
and then also kind of uh you know with the bamboo and the powder coat aluminum and the adventure wagon uh I was talking
1:19:23
to a couple of people at the adventur Expo and what kind of came to my mind
1:19:28
was you know uh they were talking about how they really like the style and design and I was thinking about it and
1:19:35
you know compared to kind of the trends out there uh I I personally think it's a really Timeless design with the bamboo
1:19:42
you know black gray uh powder coat it's something that will last for a long time
1:19:48
aesthetically I think uh and then just you know bone bonus you have other features where you
1:19:54
got Shore power when you need it you have a 16 gallon gray tank for the shower you can opt in for additional 20
1:20:02
gallons for the uh kitchen Galley sink itself so that would give you 36 gallons
1:20:07
of gray so you'd have you know 40 36 uh you know those are numbers that are not
1:20:14
normally in a class B and then kind of to top it off you've got the dtic RTX uh
1:20:21
air conditioner that has a proper power system of 600
1:20:26
amp hours typically you're going to see you know two to 300 amp hours and
1:20:32
although you may be able to run the air conditioner uh for a couple hours you're sacrificing that next day
1:20:39
where maybe you want to cook on the induction stove or you want to do something in a blender recharge some
1:20:46
devices um the reason you want such a good battery bank is it's not because that's what it takes to run it it's you
1:20:52
got to think about the next day where you want to have a normal day and then if you're driving the top off the
1:20:58
batteries or doing the solar before you do that you have enough battery power to
1:21:04
actually make it through the next day uh comfortably because if you're investing
1:21:09
in something like this you want to be able to use it comfortably and not have to worry about um you know having
1:21:16
battery anxiety uh it's got 420 watts of solar that's broken into two Banks back here
1:21:23
so we got 220 watt panel on One bank that's just one and then on the second
1:21:30
breaker we've got two 100 watt panels and really that's all that we could fit
1:21:35
on the roof so if you guys have seen on the the
1:21:41
website uh where' it
1:21:47
go so if you go on the website here let's go down to photos
1:22:02
you can see up here we have uh whenever this picture loads you know that's about as tight as
1:22:09
you can get there is not a lot of room for anything up here um something that I would change in the future is when the
1:22:16
Venture wagon was purchased the vent fan is a kind of baked in item on the list
1:22:23
so you select if you want one or two fans and they already have a pre-selected location for your vent fan
1:22:29
and they pre-cut out the panel and insulation for you so that is why this became the home of this
1:22:35
vent uh now that was fine in the beginning because I didn't know uh you know what I wanted to actually put in
1:22:41
the roof uh the AC unit was a change later uh just because of what the van
1:22:48
turned into um it was a high-end van build and so you know you're going to want air conditioning for
1:22:56
that so between the dedic being pushed back as far back as possible and the uh
1:23:04
this maxman being where it's at um there was a sacrifice of about I know I'm
1:23:11
getting detailed here but about 50 Watts so I mean it's not crazy but technically
1:23:18
if I was able to move this fan back about another two in I would have been able to um put another 50 watt panel
1:23:26
right here and that would have maximized the roof um also depending on if you go with
1:23:32
Flatline vanco for the roof rack or uh AVC rig you'll have different layout
1:23:38
orientations so for example ABC rig is going to give you about 60 Ines of width
1:23:44
whereas Adventure uh uh Flatline vanco is going to give you about 58 and a/4
1:23:52
order I think is what it was so a little bit more narrower
1:23:58
um and there's nothing wrong with either or
1:24:03
uh it's what you want to do with it so thankfully as you can see this uh panel
1:24:10
on the right um that one fit perfect it was the only one I could
1:24:16
find uh let me see if I can actually find it here
1:24:27
so it was a 220 watt
1:24:37
new new power I know it sounds crazy when I say
1:24:43
say it like that but that's that's how you pronounce it see right here n e w p
1:24:49
o w um so this one off Amazon it's got
1:24:54
really good ratings and it just happened to be perfect so it was 55. 28
1:25:02
in um if you guys can see here we got 55.2 in and 27.76 in wide and it's 220
1:25:11
Watts for a single panel really nice so
1:25:16
uh that one was perfect um
1:25:23
lose my tab here so I use that one and then oh yeah so this is the last
1:25:30
this is the last the last last thing to do so this panel on the back of the
1:25:37
van and the reason I'm kind of going through these questions is I know a lot of people when they get to watch uh the
1:25:43
video the walk through they're going to wonder you know they're going have questions over how things look and so
1:25:49
this is just a good time to talk about it before we end the live stream so this is that panel from Cali bamboo that Nick
1:25:55
was talking about it's a 3/4 in solid uh bamboo
1:26:00
panel carbonized vertical grain 3/4 inch and what's nice about this and again My
1:26:06
Philosophy for being able to access things and fix it is this is going to have four bolts holding it together you
1:26:13
can unbolt this you have complete access to your gray water all your circuits uh
1:26:21
on the sub panel you've got you know you can take it off you could change out the countertop or
1:26:26
the sink if you wanted to you have access to everything uh but not only that when you put it back on it looks
1:26:33
super clean what's going to be on here is two
1:26:39
things in this lower area there's going to be a tilt out uh water resistant uh
1:26:47
plug so that you can plug in your induction stove you can plug in uh USB ports stuff
1:26:55
like that down here in the bottom nice and convenient you can store your shoes underneath here uh and then there's this
1:27:04
was a specific width for a couple reasons one it's a 4 1 in kitchen Galley from flight Lane
1:27:10
vanco so it made the entrance a little tight but when you compromise in some
1:27:15
areas of the van you're usually winning very big in other parts so the big win here was you get a bigger kitchen Galley
1:27:23
surface to work on inside the van uh not only that the width of this
1:27:29
is the same as the standard uh bamboo from let see if I can find the
1:27:38
Lagoon Mount there we
1:27:43
go so this Lagoon table I'm going to show you here you can buy this from Panther
1:27:50
RV again no affiliation but this table you can buy straight from Panther RV it
1:27:56
is carbonized vertical grain so it matches everything you guys know the theme
1:28:02
here uh this plate I would offset so you can use it better but look at this you
1:28:08
can buy this pre screwed together uh ready to go and
1:28:17
uh hold on a second my camera is going nuts
1:28:23
there we go yeah so this is uh perfect the width of this right here is the same
1:28:38
width keep losing my
1:28:51
website there you go it's the same width as this
1:28:57
right here so there's going to be a l Lagoon table Mount here you got your outlet and your table and this is just
1:29:03
going to be so perfect to you know cook on right by the sink you got access
1:29:09
everything uh but really what I'm really happy about is the looks everything
1:29:14
looks super clean um and uh was there anything else that
1:29:22
missed in the
1:29:28
video Shower Pan flip and fold oh just conveniences here that are
1:29:35
hidden you might not see so this right here is a uh Quick Charge USB
1:29:42
port most USB ports are not quick charged they don't have the uh High current they're usually like a low
1:29:49
current normal USB this one is high current I think gets up to maybe five or
1:29:54
six amps so you can actually CH charge a MacBook Pro off of the USB type-c that's
1:29:59
on here um so that's integrated right behind the seat so if you have
1:30:05
passengers and then this is the Flatline vanco cabinet that I modified to accept a cruise isotherm
1:30:13
Cruise 130 stainless steel fridge um it fits perfect but there was there was a
1:30:19
lot of cutting so uh one of our subscribers go and do uh we got we were
1:30:25
just in in the chat and she said uh you know does that fit in that kitchen Gall and hadn't thought about it before and I
1:30:30
kind of just during the live stream I moved it it fit and man it was perfect
1:30:36
after that uh but really this kitchen Galley is this one if you guys are
1:30:42
curious about purchasing it so uh it is
1:30:47
expensive but remember this is uh
1:30:53
seamless bent aluminum that's been powder coated with ventilation a
1:30:58
latching soft closed drawer system and a uh 1in bamboo countertop I mean it's
1:31:08
it's pretty good uh combo here so this is what it's supposed to look like it's supposed to have a drawer the drawer
1:31:15
didn't work had to get rid of the drawer um just because of the size but if you're using this how it it's it's
1:31:21
supposed to be used um it would look like something like this in your van and where's oh here it is here it is
1:31:29
and so you can see this is where you would put a sink in it this is an i it's made for a
1:31:36
isotherm Cruise 85 fridge drawer fridge so that's what's in here so you can fit
1:31:43
a sink and the fridge and a drawer in one unit that's where I think the value of
1:31:50
this product is um not only that but man it just looks so clean just a black uh
1:31:56
powder coat and bamboo uh yeah but that is uh okay I'm
1:32:05
excited about the van guys I have to tell you about it because it's uh it's been a process um building and doing all
1:32:12
this stuff so just wanted to show you what I got here so if you're on here and you're looking it is not complete yet
1:32:18
because it needs the uh the plumbing and some other things finished but I wanted to go ahead and get this out of there
1:32:24
because I know a lot of people at the show and people on the channel were uh
1:32:29
you know we're always doing updates and you know anticipating some uh kind of update photos I think would be really
1:32:35
good for you guys to check out and because it's fall now we Al we got an awesome picture here with
1:32:42
Nova just kind of hanging out at nighttime um that's a rigid rigid
1:32:47
Industries amber light which is really nice you can kind of keep it on all night it's it's not bright in your
1:32:53
eyes um and I did put yellow fog light bulbs in there so that looks pretty
1:32:59
cool but yeah we got to get the graphics on and a couple other things and we will
1:33:04
be getting this build uh all finished so if you guys have any questions on this build you want to get in touch with me
1:33:10
directly uh that is my direct phone number this is my direct email um when
1:33:16
you click on these tabs where it says click to schedule a call it's also in the uh
1:33:22
description of the live stream video it's going to take you to this so this is the way for uh anyone to
1:33:30
get in touch with me uh also for questions of the van but it's a link you can go here do
1:33:37
an intro call all you got to do is just you know select your time that you uh it works best for you we'll hop on a phone
1:33:44
call we'll go over any questions you have on the van and uh yeah if you'd love to uh come to the shop and see it
1:33:50
and take a look at it I would love to uh show it off to you um
1:33:55
one thing that's good about custom builds specifically the spec build the YouTube channel and all this good stuff
1:34:02
is if you're interested in purchasing this van and uh you wanted to change anything uh
1:34:10
while we have it in the shop uh it's the perfect time to do that so if you're interested in this van give me a call um
1:34:18
you know there's other parts that can be upgraded you know bum all kinds of stuff like that so yeah I think that is uh it
1:34:26
for today I have no idea how long this live stream was but um I think we had a lot of good questions on the YouTube
1:34:32
channel YouTube channel is growing excellent um we're almost at 2,000
1:34:37
subscribers which is really really cool that's really cool uh questions have
1:34:42
been great comments have been great um but yeah to closing out this video make sure you guys uh give this
1:34:50
video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it share it to your friends if any of them are doing their own DIY van builds and need some help with some
1:34:56
videos and uh I think this will close it out I'm going see if there's any more
1:35:01
questions in the comments before I sign off here but yeah appreciate all the
1:35:07
questions and uh we'll see you guys in the next live
1:35:13
[Music]
1:35:20
stream
