thank you [Music]
1:06
thank you all right guys I'm headed over to the camera
1:11
get the camera in a different part of the van so that we can show you the next piece of the puzzle
1:21
all right uh hold on I'm gonna let's see if I can see myself here
1:27
get the framing right I should be in frame we are installing this front piece uh
1:33
earlier we were working on the middle so it's done it's got all the weight on it if you guys can see that off to the left
1:39
hand side and then what we have over here on the right hand side is the fix that we did
1:45
today so right here there's a little bit of a squeak in the floor so the squeak is
1:52
coming from the wood that was here it's just temporary so we could stand on
1:58
it and put the other piece in but the squeak comes from this part of the floor so if I got a piece of wood
2:08
so the wood sliding so wood that does not have any coating
2:15
on it it's just going to sound like this all right now if you have
2:21
paint on the wood it's going to give you more of a squeaking effect
2:28
and so that is uh what was making that sound so
2:34
it's it's the paint kind of makes it you know a little tacky and stick to it
2:39
but the reason that it's making the sound is because it's kind of it's moving so
2:45
the movement was right here in the front part of the floor so on a Ford Transit
2:50
the flooring template that they give you uh you need to make sure that this front
2:56
part is supported I thought I put enough of our
3:04
strips like this in the floor so on a four Transit this section right
3:10
here there's no support so there's a corrugation rib here there's a corrugation rib here and here
3:17
but this middle section there's no support
3:22
so that's why I put these strips in here to support the floor however what I did
3:27
is I stopped them where the corrugations in the Ford were that was basically just
3:33
on visual so what I should have done and I'm going to take this off because this is dried
3:39
now this is just I'm just using these drawer sizes weight
3:47
but what I should have done is taken this and moved it all the way up here to the front
3:53
so that this this lip right here had something to support it underneath it
4:00
the last support is right here so if we drew a line right here
4:06
that's the last support and this is this much was kind of overhanging now theoretically if we glued the floor
4:13
down it's going to attach to this and support it but
4:19
now that it uh since it doesn't have that we were this was moving and the floor was
4:25
squeaking so what I've done is I took a piece and I have a video off camera I'll show you guys later when we make the full video
4:31
but I took a piece of this and I put felt tape on the back of it so it
4:37
wouldn't squeak on the bottom and then I put a bead of marine adhesive
4:43
and I went like this and I stuffed it underneath here so now
4:48
there is a piece running like this I'll get some more of these pieces so I
4:54
can show you what it looks like as well as getting this felt tape I like
5:01
this felt tape I used it a lot on Thomas's van because he has a really nice sound system and we
5:08
didn't want anything to rattle so this felt tape right here we put on every
5:13
Corner every cabinet Edge I put it on everything the whole entire battery system Edge anything that we
5:20
could have could vibrate so if you can imagine there's now a piece like this
5:32
where the floor is and that's allowing it to be supported and then now it's extremely solid it
5:39
doesn't move at all so that's just a good note
5:45
if you're referencing the van just remember your floor
5:51
you'll visually want to stop putting these things here these pieces of
5:56
just because it looks like that's the right way to right place to put it but in fact you need to extend them
6:03
all the way up to this very edge
6:08
like that that's where they need to be okay so we we solved that now we have a
6:15
very just very firm section right there
6:22
um we can just we'll gently walk over here and so right here it's extremely
6:29
stable
6:36
okay so this piece right here we are going to reinforce this later so
6:43
we'll do this after we uh glue the put the floor down so if I put
6:49
all the weight on it and then what I'm going to do is I'm going to measure over
6:54
here and over here and then I'll shim this up while everything is uh drying so
7:01
I'm not going to do it right now I'm gonna do it after the board gets on there
7:07
okay so without further Ado Let's uh
7:12
let's get going on this
7:21
so we're going to keep all of our weight back here and we're just going to do the same thing that we did on the middle part
7:29
we're going to do on this part one thing I I did was I cleaned up my
7:35
caulking gun if you guys remember it one of the tubes busted and it created a
7:42
a big mess so that has been fixed
7:48
so now we got a new tube in here it's complete completely clean uh it was pretty hard to get it
7:55
completely clean but we we did get it clean
8:02
all right so behind me we've got our floor it's all prepped and ready to go
8:08
I've got a backup caulk gun right here that I'm going to use if this other one runs out
8:14
and we're gonna do the same process we're going to take this and we're going to knock down our bead so that it's
8:22
uh very low profile because we don't want this this top
8:28
piece sitting up at all we don't want any gaps we want it as as tight to this
8:33
surface as possible and we're just going to get the
8:40
leaf blower and we're going to blow this off just one more time get the dust off
8:55
and then I'm also going to see if I can put the put this board in here without
9:01
hitting the live stream camera so that'll be fun
9:25
and as usual if you guys have any questions put those in the in the chat and I'll be happy to answer them
9:41
thank you
9:47
foreign
9:53
[Applause]
11:01
hey guys uh there's something wrong with this caulk gun
11:06
because I used it I just wasted another tube
11:12
look at this so what I did is I tested it
11:17
I put it in here open and I went ahead and broke the seal and it went in just a little bit and for whatever reason
11:23
something is getting cocked inside here and it is just screwing this whole thing
11:29
up look at that all right so we are going to have to
11:36
clean this off again
11:43
I'm not sure why that keeps happening
11:51
if you guys have that Milwaukee caulk gun and it does the same thing to you let me know in the comments because that
11:56
thing is it's not good
12:05
the tubes the tubes of the Marine adhesive are not are not cheap
12:17
and maybe the tubes are not designed for that gun because
12:23
I I have I have no idea
13:10
I'm pretty Savvy with tools and it's weird that I would be having an issue operating
13:16
that thing if you know what I'm talking about
13:28
because I don't think it's the tubes because this tube
13:33
we just finished up this tube look no problem
13:39
so I think Milwaukee has an issue
14:04
so the working time with this is 30 minutes
14:10
if you guys are wondering so that's what time you need to
14:15
you know open this up and get the whole thing going
14:30
yeah we're just gonna go back to this sometimes simpler is better
14:39
[Music]
14:54
see I was hoping to caulk gun would the automatic one would help me with these long kind of skinny
15:00
streams it's this long skinny lines like this
15:06
this is what you want this way you don't actually have to go in and like knock it down like I did the
15:12
other one
15:20
yeah like these long skinny ones this perfect so I guess I'm just gonna have to
15:28
suck it up and do it this way
16:27
foreign
16:36
we finish up we're going to go back and make a couple more paths uh passes on
16:41
the edges
17:30
foreign
17:46
[Music]
18:19
over here get some of these places we missed
18:41
foreign
18:50
s right here
18:58
but still thin
19:20
all right looking good
19:36
I'd say you don't want any gaps bigger than about an inch
20:00
foreign
20:07
let's go and get our knock down everything else looks pretty good but in these like high spots we want to
20:14
knock them down
20:26
yeah pretty much any place that our caulk gun put like a little too much of a dab
20:33
we're kind of looking out for
20:47
if you see these uh chunky things I don't know how they're getting created but pull them out
21:02
all right
21:31
okay I think that's pretty good all right we got one right here
21:43
okay don't waste any more time let's go ahead and get the board down
22:00
it's gonna be tricky because we were able to slide this
22:05
last time into place so now we're gonna have to lay it into
22:11
place so I'm trying to figure out the way I want to do this
22:19
let's see here
22:33
foreign it is good to practice
22:41
how you're going to put it in the van
22:46
so I think I'm gonna put it in this side first
22:55
so I'm gonna lean it on the wood on the left then I'll lay it in there
23:02
flip it back over hit the live stream cam
23:23
okay let's go okay we're going to smush a little bit of our
23:29
stuff right here
23:44
foreign
23:59
there we go and just watch your lines line everything up and keep pushing in
24:14
and we're caught on our little seat piece of our seat over here so we're
24:20
gonna have to do it the other way and go under there we go
24:37
okay let's check our alignment
24:46
okay looks perfect
24:58
the main thing is this shower pin we can shave this off if we need to
25:05
the most important is the shower pan right here
25:21
and our seating
25:28
it's good
25:36
all right it's good
25:42
it's nice and tight here it's nice and tight over here got good
25:47
clearance here for shower pan good clearance here
25:55
okay
26:04
all right now we can stand on it
26:22
I mentioned it before but that's why I like to do the uh some type of liquid
26:30
adhesive instead of the spray type because
26:36
you get one last moment to move it around if you need to
26:43
rather than it just immediately sticking into place
26:54
and again for this particular build these seams right there are not
27:02
our main concern the seam in the back is we'll still do we'll still make sure
27:08
that this one is nice and flush because that's just the way we do things
27:14
but
27:20
all right
27:34
okay we're going to clean off uh with some denatured alcohol this extra
27:39
adhesive over here and then we'll move on to our our next step
27:46
let me just get a rag
29:08
okay
30:01
I'll get a big heavy cases for these joints
30:08
foreign
30:30
[Music]
31:18
anything goes to get weight on this thing so are you guys having the shop your house
31:26
go for it
31:32
you make sure you're really weighing this thing down for 30 minutes that's your
31:39
that's your goal it does take a full 24 hours to cure
31:46
but the first 30 minutes are really important
32:17
there's a big old tire that's going to go in the middle here so
32:22
whatever you guys got right
32:35
so we're going to be streaming for about five more minutes so if you guys have any questions you guys are tuning in
32:42
ask those questions the next five minutes uh because we're going to
32:47
stop we'll reset the cameras and then we're going to go to the back of the van where we're going to uh
32:54
we're gonna reset to install the the piece in the back of the van
33:01
I wasn't joking this is the tire that's going to be going on the back
33:08
Tire Rack pretty soon so look forward for to that video
33:19
all right
33:52
everything you got I'm not kidding make sure you get it
34:00
sealed up just right
34:16
all right that's everything for the kitchen sink to put that down
34:22
see if I have any more questions nope all right guys we will catch you
34:29
in the next live stream
