all right guys welcome to the live stream um I was going to do this as a standalone video but we're just going to
1:50
go for it we're going to get this floor installed tonight this is going to be probably a uh two-part series I'll just
1:57
take a break after I get the there's two parts to the lawn seal install one you got to take the floor
2:04
flooring out your whatever you have and need to lay it out get the center line mark it and then start to cut most of
2:10
the edges away to get a um close to Perfect Fit that's my recommendation so
2:18
spend a lot of time on that so we'll probably spend almost a whole hour just trying to get all this stuff uh or uh
2:27
neat then we'll pause I'll take a break grab some food I'll come back and then
2:32
we'll mix the epoxy and we'll start the process so um yeah I just wanted to go
2:38
ahead and get this knocked out today um I didn't think I was going to get the roller in time before the store closed
2:44
but we've got it it's in the back of my van um so that'll be in part two but uh
2:50
yeah I'm going to go ahead and switch the camera over we're going to get our lawn sill out and um unravel it and see
2:58
what it looks like check my audio too
3:05
here yeah I just wanted to go ahead and get this knocked out today
3:10
okay audio sounds good I have
3:15
actually I'm excited to open this up
3:20
because even though this is jnan Susan's van I still excited to look what the
3:26
what the material looks like um gu it's been a been a minute
3:32
since that we ordered this just been sitting over here in the corner waiting for
3:51
today okay let's get this door out of our way
4:08
then also the drying time of the
4:13
uh what we what we painted on earlier today the drying time is not long at all
4:26
so let's see so we ended fil filming at like 45 like 4:30 4:30 5:30 5:30 to
4:37
6:30 so by 7:30 this floor will be ready to
4:44
actually have something put on it so we're doing good all right lawn seal we ordered one
4:53
roll 6t by 12T long 12T long and this
4:59
one is uh this is lawn strand l o n s t r a
5:07
n d number 258 black lava
5:14
um so these rolls come standard as 6 feet wide which is great for Vans um but
5:21
12 feet is what you need so that you can hang it you know you have enough room to work
5:27
with uh plus sometimes you can use that extra piece for a lip or a step or
5:33
something like that um the next thing that we uh ordered so the part number of the first
5:40
item is SD 258 that's the lawn strand um number 258 black lava that's
5:48
what we're using uh then the next part number is ZZ
5:53
800 so that is the number 800 un Notch tra um we'll we'll that'll be in part
5:59
two it's just just it's a TR that has a specific depth for when you scrape it um
6:06
because you don't want to put two you want to have a puddle of epoxy in one area and then a low spot because you'll have you'll have it sink so this has
6:14
teeth in it so it sets a a nice level
6:19
coat um you also want to have like a pair of pants that you can actually throw away after this so I have actually
6:26
a pair of pants that I've used every time I have epoxy to Van cuz has epoxy all over
6:31
it um then the last part number here is z a
6:37
d651 and that is the number 650 adhesive 1G unit and that is this right
6:45
here so this is the bucket you're going to get and this one
6:51
is number 650 two-part solvent free epoxy
6:56
adhesive um again we have a whole video going through this this whole entire
7:03
thing uh it's going to be a very long live stream as pretty much all of my live streams are but this one and the
7:10
next one will be um so unit trout so this is appropriate
7:16
spread rate so we get the unit tril um the open time is up to 15
7:23
minutes and working time is up to 15 minutes so what that means is when you
7:30
take the two parts and you mix them together inside this
7:35
bucket um I think he mix it for seven well
7:41
we'll just read the instructions
7:50
here it's covering up my instructions again I already have a
7:55
video explaining all this step by step we've already done this before but might as well do a live video while
8:01
we're doing it again
8:07
um yeah this is definitely going to be a late night because we need to we'll need
8:12
to roll the surface after 2 to three hours so let's
8:18
say we get done doing this at 7:30 and then we come back um like
8:25
8:00 so probably like 11:00 p.m. tonight or something we'll have to make sure we roll this uh one more time before we let
8:32
it set up permanently and that's just to make sure there's no air bubbles and that it really gets a
8:38
good flat thing and then no foot traffic for 24 hours after that that's why I'm
8:44
trying to do this on a weekend um because I'll be uh gone tomorrow this will be
8:51
perfect
8:57
um let's see here
9:03
I thought it actually said anyway in my video we have 15 minutes of working time and 15 minutes of open time
9:10
open time is after the two parts have been mixed together that you have 15
9:15
minutes that this needs to kind of do its magic and start to the curing process which is actually starts to get
9:21
pretty pretty warm um and then after 15 minutes this thing
9:27
is ready to be immediately poured onto the floor so what I do is I immediately pour it on the front part and that
9:34
pouring instead of doing a little bit by bit the pouring action allows it to cool down a little bit which slows the curing
9:40
time theoretically so one big pour and then I move it around second poure move around
9:47
and then like my final pour in the back just to double check all my areas and then uh immediately I go back in and and
9:55
get this um so this is actually
10:00
I got to slow down I'm sure I'm confusing you guys
10:06
um we're going to unroll this and put it on here we'll do a one small screw in the front and the back that's going to
10:13
lock in our Center Line we want to find the center line of the van and center line of this we're then going to wrap
10:19
over one side uh in part two of the video and that's going to we epoxy one side and
10:26
we'll flip it over flip the other side up epoxy it and then flip it over that way your alignment never gets off you
10:32
don't get the whole floor shifted
10:38
um yeah but what we're going to do is I have some screws
10:44
here now these screws they're nothing this is nothing fancy just two screws but one's going to be up front uh and we
10:51
want to make sure that we measure the lip we're using so we don't reveal where we drilled a hole in the lawn sill and
10:59
then back so usually do it about maybe almost a half an inch
11:04
in uh from the front and the back so I've got these two screws in my pocket
11:10
and then next I'm going to go and we're going to measure the center of the van finder
11:16
Center and then we'll take the carpet apart and we'll just kind of keep moving
11:22
on from there um first place I just find the center is
11:28
actually the uh let's see where my razor blade
11:41
go so in between the wheel wells is where we're going to do
11:48
that man I have so many of these razors and I keep
11:54
uh misplacing them okay so we got two here we use that to open up the thing got a piece a pen PC now we're going to
12:01
get
12:09
uh all right I'm take my shoes off because I want to keep getting this surface messed up and you guys are
12:17
welcome to uh ask questions hey MK thanks for
12:22
tuning in yeah if you guys have questions ask
12:27
away all right so first spot is right here between the wheel
12:36
wells and we need to identify um all right I'm going to show
12:41
you man now I'm going to M my socks up again
12:46
Lord I have this calculator that I think any DIY should have it's a fractional
12:52
calculator for construction and
13:01
you can get exact without doing that much math in your
13:10
head Nova what are you
13:17
doing okay here we
13:26
go so first thing things first
13:34
um so we got 55 and 7/8 so we're just going to go here 55 in 7 over 8 ided by
13:45
two 27 and
13:51
1516 which is that's a little dumb let's just not do that let's do 54 and
13:58
3/4
14:06
sa4 27 and
14:15
38 okay there's our back then we'll come up here we've got
14:22
our little bump outs on the van uh we don't want to do
14:34
now it's possible that this is not the center
14:44
so actually what am I doing here it's like I've never done this before come on
15:11
all right we're going to make this easy for you guys um we've got 15 inches between the seats 7 and
15:17
1/2 in is where we're making our Center Line Mark and then we are going to
15:24
take uh the square and we're just going to come straight back to the back
15:34
sometimes I do over complicate things but it's fine
16:03
so this black lava floor it's actually the lawn coin floor is the one
16:09
you don't want to have uh offset because if you
16:16
do the coins going down down the floor that would look pretty weird this one doesn't really have a
16:22
defined um uh pattern to it so you can maybe
16:28
have a little bit of offset and you'll be okay um all right let's get our
16:39
front I think you guys get the point you're just trying to find a relatively
16:45
good Center to start from
17:05
okay so 30 and 5/8 is at this
17:16
back okay so go between the front
17:22
seats get your 15 divid 2 is 7 and2 and then come back here
17:28
get your 30 and 5/8 from each of these uh these are wrapped columns so
17:34
they're probably a quarter inch more in again just try to find a very close
17:41
Center Line um see if I can find my Square
18:14
okay and so this all this line is doing this and you guys don't have to do this method this is just my method so that I
18:22
don't when I'm doing this solo I don't I don't mess up CU you can't mess up with the epoxy everything in that you can you
18:29
can reupholster parts of the van you can recut wood wood the epoxy you can't you
18:35
can't fix it if you if you mess up
18:43
so okay so this line that I'm making this is my visual reference line for
18:49
when I have the lawn seal peeled over it's just to make sure that I've I
18:56
don't um you don't want to pass this line because what happens is you want to do your
19:03
epoxy uh all the way up to the line so that when you fold the layer over and
19:09
you peel this one up there's already uh you don't have too much epoxy in an area
19:15
that you don't want to start having epoxy if that makes sense
19:36
that's okay I'm going to sweep this out so nobody freak
19:44
out plus I think if you guys have a visual line in this video it's going to
19:51
help you understand the
19:57
method okay so with that set I'm just going to come here and just make a no-brainer little
20:04
Mark at a/ inch just I don't even have to think about where to drill that little
20:13
screw and then we'll come up here half inch all right so now we know where our
20:18
screws are going all right next we'll actually uh
20:26
open this up
20:51
[Applause] now it probably goes without saying but
20:57
be careful when you're using razor opening this up cuz all they do is just have they
21:03
just have some craft paper wrapping this a couple times there's not like a
21:08
special uh special protector or anything now
21:17
that's because lawn seill is extremely durable but it's not durable to a razor so keep that in mind
22:12
okay oh
22:17
yeah black
22:27
lava for
23:01
[Applause]
23:34
who else is on the stream welcome welcome to the live
23:43
stream if you guys are new you can ask me questions I welcome it even though
23:49
I'm working it is okay to do that um what
23:54
we're doing right now is we're going to unwrap this lawn Seal Get It positioned lock in our top and bottom center it up
24:02
and then we're going to uh start contouring it to uh where we need to install it into the
24:13
van uh something that one thing you can do is actually
24:19
um you can uh take this and you can sit it out in the
24:26
sun uh for a minut minute and actually get it to warm up which is
24:34
uh good to do
25:07
and definitely inspect this as you're going um there shouldn't be anything
25:13
wrong with it but you know this uh install is permanent so
25:28
[Music]
25:50
and try not to get it creas
26:14
oh
26:41
okay I need some masking tape and we need to come in 3 feet from
26:48
each side it's not a perfect six feet so that's why I keep repeating to you guys
26:54
that you know just always double check measurements
27:00
lots of fabric are not perfect they're I think I mean they usually air
27:07
on the high side all right let's get some masking
27:14
tape just do it back here while we're here
27:54
and whatever side you do it from just make sure you stick stick to that side
29:17
and if you look far back and just kind of go back and forth like this you can actually line this
29:23
up almost perfect
30:35
that
31:22
so on this front one get this front good and just tied right up to the lip
31:28
uh don't worry about going over you want to be Center
31:34
um if you see a little bit of white from the floor showing don't worry about it cuz remember you're going to cover
31:39
you're going to cover that up with your um your trim
31:44
strip so don't worry about that okay all right so I'm happy where that's in I'm
31:50
going to go ahead and get a drill so I can lock in the front
31:58
peace
32:27
I found my
32:35
Razor I guess the computer desk makes sense for and I got all my pens and
32:43
markers excellent all
32:49
right so razor good drill
33:25
okay triple triple triple check you don't have any
33:31
weird overhanging issues here
33:37
um
33:45
see okay yep look great let's go for it
34:17
okay for this one I'm putting it a half inch off
34:45
okay and I backed it out a little bit because I have some electrical wires back there I don't want
34:51
to forget about and make that
34:59
thing um so now you can kind of give this a little old
35:06
tug now we can really
35:12
uh dial this back in and get it where we want it to be
35:28
and let me know guys if the camera angle looks good lighting is still
35:35
good yeah I I like the black lava it's it's nice um it's one of those colors that really
35:43
hides uh like dirt and stuff like that it's something where you know it's not
35:50
this stuff is super resilient this is really nice um we'll look up the specs on this cuz I
35:56
think this I'm pretty sure this is says top seal which is a additional layer of protection
36:04
um but yeah like a darker color and this kind of pattern it just it's just so you don't have to you're not having to clean
36:11
the van every single day you can just take a break take a day off
36:17
from sweeping the van out okay so there's there's where I'm at
36:24
it's a 1in piece of tape so pretty easy all I do is put a screw halfway in the
36:31
middle and just make sure I'm on my Center
36:39
Line uh it does not have to be crazy perfect I just like to shoot for
36:50
perfect so let's see here okay double check my
36:59
Edge make sure there's no
37:05
bubbles now when you go to roll this out you'll be making sure that you know
37:11
you're not creating these uh uh these bubbles
37:18
so I'm just going to double check this real
37:23
quick okay okay now we can
37:30
actually drill and be careful don't slip off your
37:38
screw and uh punch a hole on your your new lawn
37:47
seill and I'm going to go deeper with this one so I got a
37:52
good good head on that all right so that is our our first step now let let's get
38:01
this thing kind of evened up here um so we see like there's a
38:07
little bit of flex like
38:20
that okay
38:31
and it's okay if the front of the lawn seal is like a 16th away from the
38:37
edge because it is it's easier to where you make sure you do not have to cut the
38:44
front that on this uh strip that you put in the reason is those seats overhang
38:52
and it's just really hard to get a razor in there to cut a straight line so if it kind of comes back a little bit don't
38:59
that's actually better and then just make sure that your inch or inch and a half aluminum or
39:06
steel angle cover will cover it
39:13
up okay so now we're going to get into the uh this is a little bit of the
39:19
tedious Pro tedious process of going around and just getting
39:24
everything cut to size now you want to do this because I see
39:31
people do it after the fact they'll put the epoxy down and then as the epoxy's
39:37
curing you're going to go and start to straighten all this out do not do that the reason is
39:44
um uh I've had a situation where uh I went
39:49
back to I don't know what I was doing I was trimming something or moving something and my knee was on the on the
39:56
floor and when I got up the knee had like a little bit of a divot and uh it rolled out but what I'm
40:04
saying is Imagine while the epoxy K you're going and trying to cut all this out you got
40:09
all these knee prints that are epoxied into the floor and they're not going to come out so just be aware of
40:17
that um okay so I'm going to go and get a super sharp
40:23
fresh razor blade and then we are going to get to work
40:31
yeah so that that's my it's one of my Pro tips for tonight is you know do a I call this kind of
40:39
like a a dry fit and then suspend your time with a dry
40:45
fit and then uh it'll make the epoxy install less stressful because you've
40:52
already accomplished one thing you're not having to rush cuz when you go to mix of the
40:58
two-part I mean the clock starts ticking and you can't do anything about it you are committed at that
41:04
point um all right so a knee pad would be nice if I can find my knee pad
42:35
for
43:17
actually I think it's on the roof of the van from when I was doing
43:22
solar it's probably up there
43:43
yep okay here we go we're getting
43:52
started um might need some tape to Mark some stuff possibly
43:59
all right let's make sure our good old
44:27
I don't have my phone over
44:33
here okay I got my phone now I can see your questions yeah so you can get this for a
44:40
promas this is not um this is not van specific in any way
45:00
okay all right I feel pretty good about the center and we want to cut this as close
45:07
to the walls as possible because uh my goal is over here on this right
45:14
side specifically I want to make sure that we go right to the wall cover all our wires so that our
45:21
quarter inch panel can just sit on top of this um
45:27
so that's the
45:34
plan yeah so I'm just going to start over here and uh the first thing just we
45:40
do we'll do the easy stuff first and that is getting this uh wheel well cut
45:53
out and you want to have the one that has a locking wheel on
46:09
it um also practice in an area so act like I'm practicing over here by
46:16
where the water tank is because this is spot over here you're
46:22
not going to see this at all so if there's a you know go to places that you
46:28
can mess up and are not going to be a critical uh visual place to
46:36
where you're going to see your mistake
46:41
cuz I mean not everybody is a you
46:46
know I know I do this professionally but uh doesn't mean you're I guess it
46:54
doesn't mean you're a laale pro but my point is find places where you can you can
47:00
learn and uh don't worry about not worry about
47:06
messing
47:16
up and so what I'm doing is kind of looking for my line and then I'm coming over here and
47:24
uh Alexa sit AC to 7
47:32
° I don't think she hurt
47:37
me Alexa set air conditioner to
47:44
70° there we
47:51
go oh another thing is uh humidity plays a big part in
47:57
when you're doing wood or painting or anything like that so if you are
48:02
actually doing any of this stuff um outside just keep in mind that you know
48:08
drying times may be different um I mean heck even even if you're
48:15
painting uh sometimes paint finishes can have a lot of
48:22
different outcomes
48:34
now when you get to the end of a cut there's going to be a lot of stored energy in your hand and if you
48:40
slip you go straight through the part of the lawn so that you don't want to cut so just
48:47
uh just be aware of that and we're going to make a final cut
48:52
uh we're going to make a final Trim here
48:58
after we do the
49:09
epoxy and just because I've done this before uh I'm trying to do a final Trim
49:14
now so I save time uh later when I uh
49:19
show you guys what I'm doing
49:35
see grab my
49:55
phone so when you say insulation and padding for the ProMaster are you
50:00
talking about for the floor or the kit that I was talking about that was for
50:05
the whole van like the walls and everything
50:56
for
51:54
oh yes so just a floor uh there's a company called AVC rig you probably hear me talk about him a lot
52:02
um they have probably the only there there's more companies now but at the
52:08
time they were the company that had the only uh that I knew of a pre-insulated
52:16
floor and so the way that they did the pre or created that
52:22
is uh there's a company called zip sheathing and uh that's usually what you see on
52:28
houses and
52:33
um that company what you can do is you can actually
52:40
uh the sheathing has it's a like a membrane sprayed on it it's this green
52:46
stuff um and then not only that it's uh so it's waterproof on the outside the
52:51
woods on the inside and then the insulation is already preglued to the back of it and it's designed for homes
52:58
that are in really cold environments um as
53:05
a additional insulation uh for the home
54:21
yeah this part I'm doing back here in the back this is the hardest part um
54:28
because if you guys can believe it I'm actually I'm actually doing a finished cut back here because I know when I do
54:33
the lawn seals this is my finish this will be my finished cut area
54:38
back here so just making sure it's
54:51
Perfecto you're like is he actually doing the Final Cut yes I'm doing a Final Cut
55:23
cool thing is when you kind of find your line
55:29
you can really just crush it because you can just
55:35
uh go go right on that line just keep
56:49
okay so right here all I'm doing is I'm just cutting out the beginning to where my
56:57
my water uh vent line is and I'm going to
57:02
leave it so uh what I'm going to do is after I put the epoxy down I'll come
57:09
back over and then uh actually here I'll show you another
57:15
method you can do so leave a lot of Gap so I'm going to leave like a quarter of an inch on each side cuz it's it's you
57:21
know the epoxy can shift the the floor even if you do the screw thing
57:26
you know maybe up to an eighth of an inch so
57:34
um give yourself a little bit of wig Grom especially if you've not
57:39
done this before so what I just did
57:45
here I know you guys can't see it
57:50
but okay so what I did is I just cut a notch out and then that relieves the pressure
57:56
from it touching any of these uh drain areas or like this uh these tubes and
58:03
then what I'll do is I come back when the epoxy is cured and then I'll trim around
58:09
this uh so for
58:14
example all right making our way back we just keep going this way so we've got this side over here
58:22
looking really good um I'll probably undo the camera
58:27
and they give you a inside tour
58:33
here uh let's
58:40
see I don't really want to move the camera because um I'm going to be using that for a time lapse
58:47
so you know what happens if a camera moves around a time lapse it's not nice
59:26
remember we're just doing nice and easy um now if you got electrical wires like
59:33
I've got right here just take your time
1:01:14
oh a pro tip too let's just say this little eighth of an inch almost quarter of an inch uh I cut too
1:01:21
much if you wait and let the uh go ahead and put your epoxy down down and then
1:01:27
epoxy down the floor let it set then come back and cut it it'll come back
1:01:32
together for itself um so that might help you if
1:01:38
you've gone a little bit too far in one one area um my other recommendation is any
1:01:46
area definitely like the one I'm doing right now where you have Upholstery and
1:01:51
you're trying to make something look nice because you want to clean
1:01:57
look uh I mean just go right up on the
1:02:21
upholstery okay
1:02:29
um but what I would say is if you don't
1:02:34
leave enough Gap when you go to roll it and push it in it's going to peel back and then you
1:02:41
might have a hump or a bubble
1:02:47
so you may want to cut off a little bit more than you planned on just for that
1:02:53
that area to give it that
1:03:12
relief okay looks good and see here I made this too tight
1:03:35
okay what I'm going to do is after I do this side I will I'll move the camera so
1:03:40
that you guys can see uh more detail so just give me a
1:03:46
minute and I will we get I'll make that happen
1:04:08
uh okay good question that is a great question what happens if you get a bump
1:04:15
or a bubble um so my honest answer
1:04:21
is you want you just want to avoid that at all costs I'm I'm going to teach you how to not not get one so don't be too
1:04:28
freaked out with the epoxy you can peel it back up if you kind of mess up and need to put it back down during that
1:04:35
working time curing time the reason I do one side and then do the other side is I
1:04:41
give myself this line in the middle so if you can think about it this line as
1:04:47
long as this line here is soaked in epoxy from when I do this side it sticks the floor down and then
1:04:55
when I squeeze it from here out it's almost it's virtually impossible to have a bubble and the same thing you squeeze
1:05:02
here and you come out you're pushing it left to right instead of front to back
1:05:09
so uh I've I've I don't I can't ever think of when I had a bubble by doing
1:05:16
this method so think you have epoxy here um and then you'll you'll see push
1:05:23
it here and you can just hand roll it out and you'll hand roll or hand do and
1:05:28
you'll fill if there's no bubbles and then when you take that 100 lb roller that will have um you start in
1:05:35
the middle and then you just work your way to the outside um if you have one you'll hear
1:05:41
the air go out of it but uh you'll see when I do this that you know is even
1:05:49
though I'm saying don't get one a bubble whatsoever you can still
1:05:55
fix it
1:06:04
so okay um where did my little weight
1:06:22
go so I've got like a kettle bill here and make sure there's nothing on the
1:06:27
bottom of it but I'm going to use that to hold to give me a kind of a nice hold
1:06:35
right here so it doesn't move back as I'm cutting it um and I'm doing that for the step
1:06:41
over here and the steps are nice because you just go right along that
1:06:52
edge uh but make sure you see what's happening underneath don't get too cocky with it
1:07:32
and if there's a little bit of a lip that's okay the reason I say that is
1:07:38
um when you're squeezing the epoxy it's going to come out on the sides uh and just let it kind of ooze
1:07:45
over but when you do the roller never let the roller touch the epoxy obviously
1:07:51
because you're going to back roll and it's going to go bu bu up onto your lawn seal and and that's not good so don't
1:08:00
don't that is H let's just say it's very very difficult to get off
1:08:10
um so we don't want to do that but yeah I'm going to let this side
1:08:16
overhang and that way uh and it's just like maybe maybe an
1:08:22
eighth of an inch
1:08:40
again the weight just helps me and save this piece save this piece
1:08:47
because you may want to use it in your footstep so keep this piece
1:08:53
nice believe it or not uh when I built Thomas's van we did the
1:08:59
whole entire floor we put the step system in and after used his van for a
1:09:04
while he's like hey Nick can we extend this back out to what originally was or
1:09:10
cover this so my will chair can actually come all the way to the edge and I I had kept this I saved this piece and I was
1:09:17
able to almost seemlessly glue it back in over here so not saying you you'll
1:09:24
ever have that need to have the piece back
1:09:29
but um out of all these pieces this one do a really nice even cut and then
1:09:36
and then save that piece would be my
1:09:54
recommendation for
1:10:38
no um so to finish answering that question you don't have to redo everything because you you can't redo
1:10:45
everything I guess is my quick answer so those bubbles that's why it
1:10:51
also allows it tells you to roll after 2 to three hours cuz that's that's really your last
1:10:58
window of opportunity to you know Bond make that Bond and then get those uh bubbles out
1:11:48
okay we're looking good looking good
1:11:53
um okay that's good good now we can move to the other side
1:12:12
um I think I might move the camera at the end
1:12:19
cuz that's the fun part about live streaming is I still got I still need to get this
1:12:25
done in a timely timely fashion um I'm G to come back here I'll finish with that
1:12:39
side all right so we got a lot of electrical cables over here so we need
1:12:45
to be
1:12:52
careful um actually let see I think I can move the
1:13:02
camera let's see here hold on guys sorry for the movement it'll be worth
1:13:12
it okay the camera's gonna do something weird give me one second okay never
1:13:23
mind all right now you guys can
1:13:35
see okay so if you're kind of wondering my
1:13:41
Approach here is I kind of I roll it in and I kind of find this place that I
1:13:47
want to start from um this wheel well actually I'm
1:13:53
going to come back to this wheel well because this will hold me back from doing a good cut
1:13:58
there so here's my line where the wood is and I come back about an inch and then I just come
1:14:09
down and I'm trying to find where this floor would end
1:14:18
up so until this point I'm keeping a bunch of extra material and this side is going to be
1:14:24
harder than the other side because the other side I didn't have
1:14:31
any wires I had to look out for so I'm just going to go the safe
1:14:44
route and that's actually looking good and kind of come up come back in
1:15:04
and we just come up out of here straight up
1:15:13
okay
1:15:19
now and don't worry if you've cut too much here is that on the camera yeah if
1:15:25
you cut too much here or there's too there's too much here and you haven't cut you've cut you've cut too much here
1:15:31
but not enough here because remember we still need to
1:15:37
uh sound deaden and we're going to insulate this right here so we're at
1:15:42
minimal going to have another half inch uh to an inch covering this because we got our inch one inch box
1:15:51
plus the wood is not actually supported till here so my box is going to be on
1:16:20
this so now I'm just going to finding my curve and just cut little by little and
1:16:26
you'll eventually find where you need to start uh coming
1:16:31
in and so now I want this to end where my overcut was so I'm just looking at my
1:16:39
end of my line and kind of rotate my blade until I go up and now that gives
1:16:49
me uh I guess the most important thing tip I would give you or one amongst all these is
1:16:56
keep cutting until something is not touching a surface because if it if it's hitting the surface like
1:17:03
that that is how a bubble can get created so this right here you want to have that so that when it lays down it's
1:17:09
not touching this it's just laying down in front of it so it can lay flat it's like this see that's going to create a
1:17:18
bubble um so I need to start cutting this side
1:17:33
and I'm just kind of measuring with my just kind of feeling it out see how I
1:17:41
can
1:17:52
go okay so see now this is laying flat don't
1:17:59
again don't worry about the tape or anything like that if you're doing it like this you're doing great you're
1:18:05
doing a great
1:18:14
job okay so again I'm looking straight down
1:18:19
to find like what plane I need to cut on and then I'm coming in about a/ inch
1:18:25
because I can always take more away I can't take less away this one's extra hard because of
1:18:33
these wires so I might just continue with this
1:18:40
line until I fill it start to turn which is
1:18:56
okay so for this one I'm going to do something a little
1:19:01
different so my wires start to rise up here and that's going to happen regardless cuz this is I'm making a box
1:19:08
right here with the fuse panel so I need my wires to start coming up out of the floor so right here my
1:19:15
finger is that's where the wires start to rise up and so right there is where I'm going
1:19:21
to make a cut about an inch back so right
1:19:30
here and then now uh I'm going to come straight
1:19:40
down then I'm going to come down even further it's about right
1:19:48
there because I need to
1:19:59
so don't do what I'm doing
1:20:06
all just need to I'm just scoring this so I can figure out where I want this to land okay there
1:20:14
you go so you can lightly score this and
1:20:20
then peel it back up like I just did
1:20:27
okay so that's my I transitioned now this is my new line so this is my wide
1:20:32
line again I'm doing that so I don't have any pressure um from
1:20:39
the from the floor and then now I'm going to start to curve
1:21:23
okay I'm going to come straight down to where that curve
1:21:36
is okay now that is my curve so
1:21:44
now and then this should actually go all the way underneath all this electrical wire
1:21:52
yep okay so that's how we made that creb I mean you can see how long this takes
1:21:58
but guess what after we do the epoxy we don't have to deal with this anymore this is already this is done all
1:22:04
we're doing is just like little fine just little little fine trims
1:22:10
nothing nothing hard I'm following my upholstery on this one really
1:22:16
tight and I'm not going to go too far so see this one is not I can't fold it down
1:22:23
because it's I went right up against the upholstery but that gives me a way to come back and cut
1:22:30
a neater line and then now I can pull that back I
1:22:37
can try that and I can keep trying until I get it right
1:22:59
so I'm good until about this section I need to come back at an
1:23:08
angle because the transit that column goes in at an
1:23:15
angle okay now I don't need to put too much stress on this joint right here it's going to tear and that won't look
1:23:23
good so now what we're going to do is come through here we got plenty of room
1:23:29
and we're just going to slice this big old chunk
1:23:46
out and then we're just going to keep working our way
1:24:11
okay and then I'm going to get rid of this back side
1:24:19
here because it's going to mess me up
1:24:24
so I'm just going to cut like a little that all right so now this is
1:24:32
not messing with me over there then I'm going start dialing in
1:24:39
this inside corner
1:25:13
and try to keep this as straight as possible
1:25:32
that
1:26:17
again look for your wires where they're at let's go ahead and get rid of this
1:26:25
back piece
1:27:05
all right so that is that so this corner when I take this tape off I've
1:27:12
got that uh four-way stretch fabric and it's kind of a puffy so it's going to come over that edge and make a nice seam
1:27:20
um I cut these Corners here Square I don't try to round them over because uh
1:27:28
it's just almost impossible and you want you want these clean cuts on lawn so you don't want to have some type of half
1:27:33
opening to where it can
1:27:39
rip all right let's move back
1:28:13
okay so this part I'm going practice over here because over here I've got to keep it as tight to the wall is possible
1:28:20
so tighter than I've ever done because the panels that I'm working with are
1:28:27
so they're so uh skinny
1:29:09
I've gotten to this piece of tape to figure it out then I go
1:29:16
to then I got to really do it
1:30:02
that
1:30:26
okay I think what I'm going to do is do that and then I'm going to get a
1:30:32
piece of tape here and make me a reference line that I
1:30:40
can cut to and that should give me
1:30:49
a pretty tight line to cut
1:30:56
from that's my guess I think that's I think that'll
1:31:04
work also I didn't charge my microphone all the way so uh if my mic goes out please let me
1:31:12
know in the chat if you guys are watching
1:31:21
still so I'm using a piece of masking tape to guide
1:31:39
me heck yeah that's the way to do it right there that's
1:31:45
perfect oh my feet let's see
1:31:52
here cut this that a little bit
1:32:12
more excellent
1:32:36
appreciate all you guys watching the stream this is a it's good
1:32:42
motivation have an
1:32:47
audience make sure you get things done all right this
1:32:54
right here is my elasto control
1:32:59
cable and it's coming up out of the floor and I need to pretty much poke it into the
1:33:07
floor um because it's going to keep me from getting this really
1:33:15
tight uh really tight Corner that I
1:33:21
want see if I can do this
1:33:31
this is what I was saying the last video about the controller cable not being long enough
1:33:38
um so it's just going to be it's going to be perfect to to come up over here we got a little bit more we have it can
1:33:44
come actually over to here but all right so this is
1:33:52
the this is the side that's got to be perfect so let's see what we can
1:34:00
do first make sure all the cables are pushed
1:34:07
down um you guys can't see me at all can you let's change the camera
1:34:35
okay this is the technical part one chance to get this
1:34:49
right all right so
1:34:58
let's go ahead and relieve our cable over here since we don't really
1:35:04
care about this corner we can just open it
1:35:12
up all right now that cable now that's not a issue let's check our other side
1:35:17
okay so our right side here we got to clean it up first so anything like this that's
1:35:24
holding you back I would take care of it just like the wheel wells in the back this is the
1:35:30
next part to the tackle
1:35:36
um of course this part this is a visual item and what that means
1:35:45
is uh this is one where when we cut it out
1:35:50
it's going to be something you see all the time
1:35:58
so that's what makes this stuff I want say stressful maybe challenging you want to make sure
1:36:06
it looks amazing okay so we can come back to here
1:36:30
I mean this might be true for anybody that builds and Designs
1:36:37
but you have a way that you see it in your mind it's
1:36:44
just translating that to the real world is is that art is that what art means
1:36:56
okay there we go all right so this one we can go
1:37:02
straight up give ourselves some relief
1:37:11
here now I need to find where the brake is when I say break
1:37:18
that's where the uh where this is going to shift
1:37:49
so I'm also going to use my tape method here because I need to
1:37:55
cut a super straight
1:38:01
line like
1:38:07
that and it needs to come out right right there okay
1:38:46
I see you Nova I'll take you out in just a minute
1:39:08
all right so really really close here we're just going to keep going back
1:39:15
until we nail this transition
1:39:35
and we're already so close so it's going to be it's actually harder when you're really close
1:39:42
because uh there's not that much material to to hold on
1:39:49
to uh when you're making when you're making that cut
1:39:55
okay let's try this I think we can do this will be good
1:40:46
you
1:41:05
all right so this one we're going to have to go back just a little bit
1:41:16
more this is tough cuz the wall the Wall comes in at an angle it's tough
1:41:27
so I'm put another piece of tape on here uh at an angle I think we
1:41:35
can nail it right there
1:42:14
all right that's really good when I take a picture of this you
1:42:19
guys will you'll understand you'll be like holy crap that is a difficult
1:42:30
part so that is my that is my
1:42:40
line all right so I'm scoring this one not cutting it all the way
1:42:45
through that way I can break it and kind of see where what I'm working with
1:42:56
okay so we can take this
1:43:16
off all right so this part right here we just found out we can't we can't go any further
1:43:22
back than that so we got to be careful not to do a dip like that again
1:43:53
so now what I'm doing is I'm doing the same thing same process I'm just
1:44:02
taping figuring out where I want this thing to be cut
1:44:17
at stretch my feet out and see if we got any questions here
1:44:23
sh
1:45:40
okay if we come back an eighth on this piece of tape this uh will be
1:45:46
actually section I'll be [Music] done so we're almost done with part one
1:46:52
for
1:48:00
okay we give it 3 ft left and this that's it and again this was the more
1:48:08
challenging section over
1:48:15
here but I'm cutting this to finish so it's extremely unlikely that I will come
1:48:21
back and actually need to do any trimming on this and it is possible to get yourself
1:48:28
in a situation with that uh to where uh just take your time just do
1:48:34
what I'm doing and that should work out for you
1:50:22
[Applause]
1:50:52
for
1:51:35
[Music]
1:52:19
all right we did it floor is perfectly trimmed check it off of our list and uh
1:52:29
next step is part two we will be doing the
1:52:35
epoxy so yeah like I said I'm going to grab some food real quick take a break um but join
1:52:44
us in a little bit we'll come back on live and we will finish this whole
1:52:49
process uh actually I did not finish cutting the very
1:52:55
back um I think the back is pretty pretty
1:53:02
self-explanatory I usually wait till the end to do that anyway um by the way put we need to prep put plastic around the
1:53:08
bumper so we don't any epoxy drips on it uh by the way if you guys
1:53:20
notice we have a super super solid floor I have dialed in the
1:53:27
floor so the no squeak floor I think I have figured out how to
1:53:35
make it uh no squeaks um it's really just using Marine
1:53:42
adhesive it's uh that's that's it that's the
1:53:47
answer all right um let me hop on the camera here
1:53:54
let's see this camera come on there we go all right
1:54:02
guys um grab my phone let's see
1:54:09
here thanks so much for watching uh make sure you guys get subscribed we will be back in a little bit to finish up on
1:54:16
part two uh actually doing mixing the epoxy and putting the epoxy on tonight we're going to be rolling rolling the
1:54:22
floor late into the night I'm going to get this done so that over the weekend it can do its cure do its thing and um
1:54:30
yeah so get subscribed like this video share it do all that fun stuff check out V Builder HQ if you want to contact me
1:54:36
to do a custom build go to Odyssey customs.com both of those links are in the description below and we'll see you
1:54:43
guys really soon in this next live stream [Music]
